Premium Member foggy freeze dried memories

icy daggers serrated his chilly mind
memories sharp as polar bear’s claws
wielded reminiscent evocation in pain
how he longed for selective amnesia

heart and reason at war with the enemy
a battle only to be won if he surrendered
to inevitability that conflicts were useless
unless of course they concluded in cease fire

his father had fought at the Russian Front
which left his own upbringing out in the cold
no Potemkin façade could melt the chagrin of
twelve years of Germanic menace and madness

both of them prisoner to emotional deprivation
trans-generational transmission of trauma in action
it was bitterly cold in the heat of many a moment
and icicles festered in the young brain to be formed

shape up they said – fight flight or freeze
food for thought no doubt but what about feelings

many winters have passed and the old man is dead now
took many secrets and memories into his grave
the boy now in his sixties decided he needed a snow man
carrot charcoal eyes and Che Guevara’s bandana

collected drift wood from a beach of forgiveness
and danced around the bonfire of exorcised hurt
until permafrost yielded to fire and passion in time

he had been his own antagonist for far too long

Archy

Oligarchy - From the Greek, olígos, meaning few,
hence, those guys over there, with their
hands in their garments; They say they'll
tell everyone what needs to be done.

Monarchy - Mon, variant of man, man being the
singular form, i.e. all for that guy.

Hierarchy - From the Germanic heir, meaning "here"
the ranking of relative importance, hence,
where to stand in line to get a turn.

Democracy - From the Greek demos meaning many, and
cracy, a variant of crazy, thus, many
crazy people rule, or in biblical terms, babble.

Ethnarchy - Meaning race, therefore, all those
people, that all look and act and behave
the same, tell the rest that they know best.

Anarchy - An, a variant of and, hence, another archy.

Malarkey - Those things that are to be put up
with from all the other archys (and ocracies).

Science

Reclining
A horizontal loneliness
An archaic white fresco
Fixed above as a quaking pendulum
The voice of a god or an echo booming
As mother, as nihilist, as thunder cloud,
Dropping slick lip precipitation
Pebble drop words falling as sky
A cup swarming with meaningful nothings
With a tiny vortex writhing within
Molecular debris swimming as pins
In a cushion butterfly bombing
The trunk with deep electricity
Toxic as chemistry with the faux-Germanic
Back-handed romances and charms of
Physics.

There Winter Lonely Fallows Deeply Dream

Long after that ripe golden sunset gleam
Cool silvery tones, wavering light;
Then winter lonely fallows deeply dream
Into the grayish ghostliness of night.

Far off, yet looming bold and strangely near,
Within starry heavens they are aureoled,
Forested mountain-ranges far westward rear
Their high guardian towers as of old.

And lo! above their ancient stormy deeps,
In pensive grandeur, icy frozen browed,
One glorious forest summit there keeps
Transcendent vigil alone, pure and proud.

And we who see that shining symbol turn
A moment's while from its lone transient mood;
From that brief moment we clearly discern
Our lost souls within Nature's solitude.

The Medieval Glory

The era has many glorious phases and faces
when it began on the fall of the Roman empire
Age of Darkness seized war and fire
and time stirred diverse cultures and races

Different flavors were tasted at the end of the story
Commerce and knowledge became Europe's glory
but division of Germanic tribes was Roman's fall
and many emperor’s responded to religion's call

From Clovis to Louis was Christianism
Monks lives and prays in their monasteries
Socio-political systems such as manorialism and feudalism
gave way for peace and order to avoid miseries

The knights are nobilities that needs to pass every ordeal
with passion, poise, bravery, and their will
to fight for their king, their land, and their brothers
no matter how far or how hard the battle offers

In closing of another chapter in history
the Church plans to retrieve their Holy Land
from the Muslim Turks they'll fight hand in hand
Pope Urban II leads the Crusade that led to tragedy

Children were used to touch hearts of stones
but it was the road for them to loose their soul and bones
There were nine crusades that were executed
but none of which did the land exalted

The effects are the weakening of feudalism
and the Church was shadowed with criticism
but it paved way for the innovation of agricultural technology
from conserving water to wind energy

The rise of the trade industry
strengthen the European economy
Fares are conducted by the feudal lords
traders are selling foods, arts, and swords

Truly, the Medieval Time will leave a trace
in history and in every human race
It became the cornerstone of the eras after
A foundation for another stone to be smoother

Premium Member How He Speaks His Mind

What sibilant consonants
conjure his image: angular, Germanic,
uttering phrases and grunts, monosyllables
forcefully spat into air alive,
filled with his vivid verbal assaults!
No saccharine sentiment for him.
He lets fly with steamy staccato
streams of purposely purple prose,
unblemished by boorishly banal
concern for social civilities.
Squeamishness never slept next to him!
But notice (not noticeably, please)
how his eyes seem furtively to flit
from yours, to gaze down at his hands,
pale and strangely delicate -- graceful!
And his cheeks are dusted with a blush,
under eyes not steely blue but liquid brown.

Premium Member The Parlor of Prometheus - Part Three -

" A close friend was betrayed by one of the Chiefs
and was tortured to death by being roasted slowly while strung up
high on a tree branch.
His misery was rich.
His name was Red Spirit in English.
I'm very proud of the Roman's achievements in law and architecture.
They were a very strange race,
very hostile & very obedient to a sense of honor which is why they could be so easily manipulated by law.
At that time in particular I specialized in making men into Gods.
Those were good times,
making marble from concrete."

you mention your admiration for the law,
some would say that you are a lawless Being
like a stone that ignores gravity,
a Jew who rejects scripture,
Satan said,
" There are two forms of law, real & unreal, defacto & dejure,
there is color of law and organic law,
natural rights and government codes.
Ultimately there are only two types of law;
jurisprudence designed to control others actions, which presents
consequences for violation and compliance,
and then there exists personal, subjective law,
otherwise known as principle or convictions.
Every man or woman performs according to their principles,
even if choosing to comply with laws foriegn to themselves.
This is how slaves are made,
people in bondage choose to be enslaved,
they accept the domination of another as mans' thought often permits
passion to terrorize, or tantilize judgement.
Law is like a rainbow,
one picks their favorite color following it all the way to the horizon." ,
what about God's law I asked,
historionically He remarked,
" God has His laws and I have mine."

Next I asked, have you ever been in love with a mortal?
" Oh yes, many times, take a look at this."
He handed me a thin, square golden casing
having an arabesque pattern etched on it,
when I touched the item it was as though an ancient sea breeze swept over me ,
He continued, " Open it, thats Tamitha,"
He was eager for me to be eager, I said,
" Shes got a smile similar to yours."
Tamitha was the daughter of a high ranking warrior named Bartos
in a large Germanic tribe
protecting the Rhineland from incursion."

Tyr, Ziu and Saxnot triple threats to the giants*
Hermoor, Heimdallr, Magni and Thor all so defiant
gods of might and power, protectors of sweet earth
Odin's brave brood , courage and strength since birth

Vali, so very set on revenge and great destruction
so skilled in the guiles of seduction and abduction
Mani, shines with force , moon god of the mighty Norse
attempts seducing Nott , goddess of night , of course

Ullr , god of the winter, the hunt and sword duel
tricked by evil Loki that thought him a great fool
Sjofn, temptress , shining majestic goddess of love
that inspires freyja in love, and battle far above

Odin, that set the universe , the mysteries of life
frigga that bore him the sons of glory and paradise
All players in the Nordic thoughts of darkness and light
each serving to stir man's ardor and great zeal to fight

Greatest of all was the powerful legend of mighty Thor
that roamed the earth , destroying evil shore to shore
The bravest son of all Odin's great, mischievous clan
replacing mighty Tyr in the eyes of justice and man!

giants* (The Jötnar are a mythological race that live in Jötunheimr, one of the
nine)
Speakers of Old Norse called them jötnar (singular jötunn, pronounced
roughly “YO-tun”) or þursar (singular þurs, pronounced “THURS” like the first
element in “Thursday” but with a soft “s” at the end). Jötunn comes from the
Proto-Germanic *etunaz and means “devourer.” The Old English eóten is a
cognate (it means the same thing and comes from the same Proto-Germanic
word).[1] Þurs is derived from the Proto-Germanic þurisaz and means
something like “powerful and injurious one” with a secondary connotation
of “thorn-like.” The Old English ðyrs and Old High German duris are cognates.

Life can turn on simple decisions;
I, myself, am proof that life can even be given a start based on the same.

My father rode into Germany at the end of World War II,
His mission: to help clean up the mess that war can leave behind.
His kismet came in the form of Germanic blue eyes
accompanied by a coquettish smile
atop a feminine form with an intelligent mind.

Paperwork was his excuse not to join his platoon on a trip to the outskirts of town;
The real reason was to chase a skirt he was mesmerized with in town;

What his fellow soldiers saw in the first discovery of a German Concentration Camp, scarred them for life;
My father was spared that horror and that trauma to his soul that may have made it impossible for him to fall in love with my mother that afternoon.

Were it not for his lame excuse;
Were it not for the chance to try out his newly learned German on a beautiful girl in a beaten down city in a defeated country;
I would not be typing these words in the autumn of my blessed life.

There would be no author to pen this tale,
No tale to tell,
Had that young soldier performed his duty that day
instead of drinking coffee in the cafés of Berlin.

Prefer You Be Awarded

Before I become a poet who is extinct
Want to be one who will be distinct
Also distinguished and loud and clear
Thank God Poetry Soup if finally here.

I woke up without a poem in my head
Now what should I have to do instead
No one out there do I want to offend
Will open Poetry Soup and then pretend.

I wake up each morning and prayer say
God into my mind place a poem today
Sounding as if on a wonderful Wurlitzer
Wanting to win prize called a Pulitzer.

To you, this may sound kind of Germanic
And is no where close to being Hispanic
Careful is what I have just been told
When you leap or reach for the gold.

My clever poetry friends hope you savor
Write many more poems, I will endeavor
While you write poems, won't get in the way
Prefer you be awarded with Poem of the Day.

Purty Poison

.

         Why does the sylph
             inflame me so

        The symbols clashed
          Within mine dome
         as she like the fairy
         flounced before me

                     I
         like the poet Daver
                 of yore
       heard the ambulance
           rush toward me

                  yesss
        mine heart clattered
 when the flower without skew
              leaned over
                exposing
                   hern
             purty poison

Angela Merkel

Angela Merkel
I have seen Angela Merkel naked it was on a nude beach
in East Germany and she was a young communist
member of the party, the only way one had to go if not
being stuck in a factory job. Angela back then had
a rounded body not quite Ruben but a body that had in
had the frame of a middle-class Germanic sexuality.
She had by then staked her political future and she had
no time for suitors which belonged to no party?
And she did right when East Germany went into freefall
she was there taking note and agreeing with the west.

But Merkel is history less, she has disregarded her past
yet her socialism instinct must give her sleepless nights
Greece cannot be bought by German Marks and they are
not disciplinarian by nature that can be cured by
a bracing North Sea beach.
