Felled Tree

Dear swollen-trunk maple, deemed
diseased by the saw-happy tree guy,
you who have stood silently, supposedly
slipping your ailment through your roots
to the neighboring trees, now fallen
full blast down, geometrically down,
right angle, then parallel at last, your flat-
sawn stump blotched with incriminating
evidence—you came and leafed
and are gone, and I who have grown old
in your lifetime, who intuited you rather
than knew you, felt you in my bones,
now feel the slightly thinner woods,
the hint of frailty. Scott the tree guy
has carried your eighteen-inch logs in his
red wheelbarrow and stacked them
for winter: a little Williams, a little Frost.
   Oh tree, everywhere I look
I have to pledge reclamation, fill
the forest floor with ferns, mushrooms,
pine needles, and in the side corner
place the outhouse, practically unused
anymore, still in good shape, emitting
its rich human-waste smell, its wood
smell, its few spiders climbing
their trellises with their sticky feet.
Oh tree, so much has been discovered
to fill in the space where you were:
seven new species of Philippine
forest mice, a new genus of blind
Bulgarian beetle, four new species
of jewel beetles, six of New World
micromoths. I have filled my note cards,
I have left the vertical space open
for the Ur-tree, the canonical vision
that will take your place, even the stigmata,
your bulged and arthritic joints, the
whither of your leaving, the grand word
whither standing where you were.

Premium Member On the Edge

On The Edge

He lay flat on the floor
On the edge of his mind's cliff
Taking notes
Wondering
is this life worth living

He tried to remember
Grasp onto
Happier times
Shadows of light
Fluttered beyond his grasp
Teasing
Evaporating
Hiding
Figments wrapped in glittering paper
Promising
Tempting
Geometrically angled
Away from him

He felt the coolness of the tile
Terracotta pressing against his forehead
Soothing
Absorbing his fever
Steadying him
Whispering
Promising relief
"Let your blood accentuate my redness"
" I will protect your bones"

Light flows through stained glass
Christ's brilliant blue eyes
Piercing his sadness
Reassuring him
There will be more days
Brighter lights
Warmth not clay
Sadness shall be left to yesterday
The floor will not be fed today
It is washed with his salty tears
The edge vanishes
Was it ever there?
One moment
Graciously
Turned to years
He sits in a pew
Looks up away from himself
It now seems so clear

He gets up
Walks across the floor
Walks out the silent door
Deciding once and for all
He doesn't need
Or want
This horrid place
Any more

His heart is healed
God goes where he goes
The suffering he lived no longer grows
What he remembers sets him free
He will not be lost to history
He chooses a life of Joy not misery.

Dedicated to native children abused in church and residential schools.
Their culture was systematically stripped away. in some cases much worse
things happened behind what should have been hallowed walls.

In writing this I question if this piece was honoring to Native people. As I thought about this I realized that this piece speaks to their resilience as a people. Despite what was done to them they have found a way to hold onto their culture traditions art and language. We have much that we can learn from them.

Fruity Voice

FRUITY VOICE

Her voice reminds me of laughter barely suppressed
An energetic spirit tugging constantly at the rope
A caterpillar turning to butterfly at any moment
Her voice sounds like lifegiving fruit

Not serious, self-important fruit like geometrically precise pineapples
Or pompous, overfed watermelons
Too heavy to lift

Not business fruit like apples, on duty keeping doctors away
Or bananas waiting to do their slippery work under feet
Or blackberries, whose careers lie in jam

But mischievous fruit like grapes or cherries
Which roll away like playful children when you’re not looking
Or fallen raisins on the carpet pretending to be part of the pattern

Fun-loving fruit like mandarin oranges around the Christmas tree
Basking under the Christmas lights, enjoying the glitter
Of tinsel and the smell of pine needles

Small fruits which enjoy life,
Laughing as they jostle each other in their bag,
And which could easily become bubbly wine if tempted.

Her ripened voice -
The spontaneous fruit of a lifetime
Of growth and maturing, and regeneration :
Aliment for my soul’s ailment.

Geometrically Placed

When ten minus nine equals eight the baked bean has a chat to a nine foot goblin in an underpass who is carrying sixty-seven bowls of custard to make a very large tart for supper. An instigator is neither an alligator nor a flea. And a dome of teabags makes a very nice living embodiment of a ten trail avenue. It id understood that a physical education is a flat out high jumping curd in a flowery top. High kicking. High School. And a delivery of a smiley happy pizza who discusses existentialism with a pie of fruit. Sat side by side is not sat upside down. And to eat from a pail is to sing about rain whilst spinning an umbrella around and around. Oh look the cats are laughing at the snake who is journeying around a ceiling arch in a garage. Hahahaha. Pickling placing playing personifying peanuts. And a jam frowning. Eradicate no moving potatoes in a steak pastry ball. Hahaha and a big voice booming out from a one kilometre beak. Calibration calling. And a canopy of circular circumstances. No ha to that. So ho up the hill and make enquiries in a tail arch brush. Physicality of an elephant is rife in a head scarf and a dressed man. Six metre beard. And a waistline akin to a moon or a planted planet. Whirl. The Circle

The circle was feeling quite square,
Something she couldn't geometrically bare,
      Her circumference was shattered,
            Her radius half battered,
She though the other shapes didn't care.

Bicycle Man

Bicycle man ride, ride fast
I see the wings spreading
increase the speed geometrically
as you reason arithmetically
you are about to fly into air
the bicycle is on takeoff lane
haste, never look up, but your feet
blind passengers you have
deaf and dump surely they are
fans you have applaud anything
and the wind accompanying you
will bear witness in detail
if you finish the flight
then land safely

Mathematician

Please excuse my dear aunt sally
cause mathematically
how geometrically in reality the measurements accurately
shadow me
actually
my aunt manufactured me
multiply
my design
then divide by zero
it would be undefined
my existence is geometry
any form an shape symmetry
symmetrically an entity
whos positively unbalanced to negativity
cause negatively im positively magnetically
my well being makes me an mathematician
using mathemically the principles to define my existence

Door

Highway sliced
Geometrically whispered
Into your eyes
Silks down through your mind
A limpid sighted magic spell
Fibonacci’s stepping repelled

Bilateral storm
Trapped by duty
And boxed voids
That familiar smell:
Skyscraping cylinders
And footnotes

It zips aside
High-toned warning
Like elder numbers rhyming

Prepare for abstract cosmovision
Liquid language gasified into strings
Softly spoken touch
Of the sunset mist
Morphing everything

Premium Member Haven'T We Been Here Before

This morning I closed my eyes
They never stayed closed for long
For I was taken to a different place
It was not where I belonged

Quadrants amidst different worlds
Really opened up my eyes
And allowed me to look down in anger
To a world of transparent lies

Geometric calculations
Were shown before my eyes
In South American representation
Ley Lines I now despise

Pyramid shapes have taken build
So distant, could they have talked
The reasoning by the scientists
When I questioned, all they did was baulk

Standing Stones so primitive
Yet they appear in many places
Geometrically they are
Yet they wear different faces

In caves images are drawn
Of beasts that seem the same
Yet, before we managed to be
We're amidst the living game

What we do appear to see
Are the Sun, Moon and the rains
Is this because they were there
And our eyesight was never brained

It's now the time for reason
And Earths truth to be much more
No matter what Governments hide
Haven't we been here before

Premium Member Virtual Truths

Without doubt true,
     and yet too redundantly lectured,
especially to our young of body and mind,
the virtual world is not reality.

And yet,
Elders seldom hear
when youngsters pout back
what must equally be true,
Earth's reality is no longer devoid
of virtual communicating worlds
without so many competitive walls
to hinder cooperative re-education
about mutual relationships
between polynomial information trends
and polypathic energy economies
and polyphonic co-relational politics,
all networks for off-line Earth's reality
and on-line virtual ego/eco-centering systems.

The story of information systemic regeneration
reweaves Earth's creation story of Gaian Cooperative Hypotheses
knowing we are already a cooperatively intended democracy
living in diverse locations,
identifiable 4D geometrically revolving spacetime locations
emerging from advents of fertile prehistoric winters
producing reborn ecopolitical springs,
diastatically mature summers of healthy wealth revolutions,
harvesting AutumnElders of poly-nutritional wisdom,
restored in understories
of Yin's first and last winter blanket;
egocentering processors
re-aligning with eco-centered Earth's fractal-regenerate realities,
virtual on-line
as 4D cooperative off-line.

Without doubt also true,
and yet too redundantly gamed and networked,
especially by our young of bodyminds
               with bilaterally thinking spirits,
Earth's reality includes on-line virtual cooperatives
and off-line ecological Tipping Points,
climate change
as both potentiality
of cooperative health
and WinLose reality
for competing flesh and blood pathologies.

Truths,
1 is always positive or negative in Earth's metric LeftBrain languages,
just as timeless 0s are both/and equivalent notnot double-bound with 1
co-binary RightBrain balance,
virtual-digital and historic-analogical waves
between past and future,
     tipping toward co-present.

Twisting and Turning

Life moving on such strong axioms
Geometrically and balanced on pure mathematical planes
Between Charybdis and Silla yet still fighting Zeus
As men this our acceptance to gently take

Paired, With Reservations

Paired, With Reservations

The soft curve of her spirit-
Her true shape only emergent after countless
Half-glances in the half-light of morning’s edge.
What line is drawn by the knife-edge of the sun’s first rays?
Who is slain in that prime, resplendent arrival?
Regardless it is a shiny death: an incidental manslaughter
Making new cuts and reshaping the structure of our shared constitution:
Reforming the meaning of our togetherness.
Her form, her movement, creates contrast.
Motion is wonder’s conciliator, unearthing profundities and
Burying banalities under underfoot miles and myriad beads of perspiration;
Forging ahead together through the nascent day. To what end?
Running lines: some arbitrary and intangible, others geometrically
Pronounced in yellow and white, dotted and solid, faded and new.
Drawing new lines: making demarcations- parameters implicitly set-
So close yet never intersecting: paired, with reservations.

Pardon

Oh wow a mystic meaning manifesting majestic majorities. In a purple eclipse. In a towel hung geometrically on a towel rail. Hum then. Queues upon queues of geometricians on hoops. Linguistic lingering then. Leaping. 1 2 3 static clothes horse jump. And a sanctimonious tissue paper lovingly caressing a bottle of detergent. At once a wish a washing machine rises up and leaves a building for to wash is to wipe and to wipe is to wait and wonder. And how remarkable that the pin in a drawer can magnify a strip of wood. Glowering in a wonderful way. And appeasing the western void. Of a characterful carrot and clam dinner singing harmonically on a plate. In a cousin related dramatic arai. But no whish of whiskey in a dropped out ball gown. Rusting in a charity shop. Smiling and smirking at a coherent cigarette from a dusty lip. And its two three four then. Formational freeing fraternity. And still the wide mouth of a citronella candle corpse should stay the same until an opulent petulant money gram steals the floor in a televised and videoed event. Yet to arrive is here and yet to come is a dramatic drum kit to attain gold medal status at the high jump and the javelin and the synchronized swim from a swarm of swords. Echo not a pattern of viola or cello. And chomping is a dawn chorus of worm digging wading birds. Data derisive design. Hahaha put a skirt on a mind and sip not strip. Hahaha put on a suit and shift around a floor in a bobble hat. Hahahaha mystified snowman. Xxxxxx pie of picture. Xxxxx drawling draw lines. Chattering of Seagulls and Pride

In the merry fields we rove
our symbols splattered with guts
throughout the live long day trip
access keys posted with must

A nonchalant drifters tone arrives
encircled with categorical number chant
Dreary and droning the supplanted might
so geometrically bound, our flag of flight

But then to purchase
is to provide
like a lust ritual
with nothing to hide

Undenying i cannot hold tongue
for those who seek and torment
eclipsed in the mildew articial
like plastic patrons of disease

So twisted my gumshoe to pedal
unable to erase wallpaper medals
with all your pride catapults melting
what chatter past will seagull slide?
