Found Poem

Both remained suspended, motionless;
The storm began to subside
But still the sea was disturbed.
“Come! Come courage!”
As I said it, I knew it was a naïve hope.
Who are you if you lose your favorite person?
A sheer drop, black and faceless
It was a bleak, harsh view,
the sea and the rock unrelieved by any tree or sweep of grass or sand.
Will we ever meet again?
I will sail into the future on mystery’s wings
and I will not look back.

Life According To a Debater: a Policy Case Found Poem

The 1AC is a shot in the dark.
When we use interrogative strategies
we create zones of visibility and possibility.
The potentiality for deliberation
towards a new politic.

The study of bare life signals
radical transformations;
The constitutive ambiguity of theory
is never clear-- is always double
Thinking of thinking;
A reflection that interrogates
the link between life and politics.

The relation between power
is complicated to consider.
The most authentic paradigm:
Sovereignty corresponds to ability
And ability not to be: a state of exception.

An act is sovereign when it realizes itself.
Bodies are made intelligible
through visibility and value.
When these components
are removed, what is left?

Operating in the shadows,
the truth often stays hidden
Fights break out like
“walking on minefields.”
Silently governed interests
implement policy which
silently neglect populations
further into the margins.

The bodies of the victims
emphasize this state of
exception making it more difficult
to identify, articulate and critique.
There are rare but significant attempts
to conceive the indistinguishably
between law and life.

Debate helps curtail individual power:
to shape behaviors and attitudes,
to be made visible and speak to the
systemic character of American injustice.
The possibility to fill the void
and mitigate impact of fighting.

Education can have a
dramatic impact. Mental
stimulation and meaningful
human interaction cause
social connection,
Zones of indistinction
regain the meaning they lost.

The key is to create alternative
conceptualizations of self
in relationship to others.
With broad political and social
movements standing behind,
uniting the call on the part of
democratic transformations.
Any radical change will be
more than cosmetic.

Young people now carry the banner
of struggle. Of democratic life.
A variety of discourses developed
to avert stemming the flow--
reverting to secrets we do not know.

Claiming that debaters can “solve”
by repeatedly rejecting and interrogating
the tradition is a key strategy in creating
new modes of being the secret to every exception.

How it unfolds remains to be seen.

We are in
the breeze
with trees possible
off the flying lake

look for orange cone
wearing silver mask
in front of the office
in back of the park

No back-to-back

conversations
on old rocky route
where roots are not masked

Dogs wearing masks
are welcome
Humans need to be
on leashes

Rain policy
will be localized

You can just
show up on
a deconstructing
road to nowhere

Road to hell does not show

A Revelation - a Found Poem

Triangles tend to squares
tend to circles tend to
reasoning tends to forces
which tend to tending itself.

The law of attraction is attraction
to law which tends to the resolution
of perpendicular forces.

From great circles, arcs vanish
because angles vanish together.
Equal be taken for equal and
things supposed will be.

Premium Member Market Miasma

market sell-off
mass outflows hit every asset
all indices in the red
we have to navigate the next few months
Fed insistent on 2% target
these currency moves are pretty significant
the macro factor is the Fed
indiscriminate selling
the bubble is deflating
a recession is/is not imminent
rotation away from goods and toward services
50 bps on table
time is of the essence
logistics
winners and losers
keep the pressure on
thank you very much indeed
a major worry
worse in the near term
I think that's the point
unprecedented sequence of shocks
huge symbolic weight
almost grind to a halt
I would be foolish if I didn't agree
let's play your game
more reality than risk
it's baked in the cake
buy the dip
interest rates rising--tech stocks falling
this is the beginning--not the end
this time is different
I sound like a broken record

Then one day...
in the dark, in the dark
in the deep, deep dark
a bright speck floated, invisible as dreams, special as Love.

The last word was only a
whisper,
barely understood, and then
there was no more.

June’s dreams
you’re the guide
"meet & greet"
the ecliptic zoo
a must-see!

a new five worldless day
goes on parade
these planets never stand still
click on Mars to tune up
see Mars square Pluto
as it crawls through Capricorn

truth freedom and that
need to capture the planet
of love we had
pay attention to retrograding
Mercury will be found

become mythology
find your inner mama bear
June is our goal for
the best telescope

Saturn will
articulate our focus
to take a New Moon
in 3 weeks Mercury goes direct
will it continue
its tour with me?

Let's message the universe
friend Uranus on Facebook
tweet from Saturn’s rings
listen to Jupiter laughing at the solar system

This is it: Friday!
let it rain diamonds
let the planetary parade begin
let the Sun cook the celestial crab

Premium Member EPIC HUNT

This is Epic!
an epic adventure
a moment of truth
a wild ride
Oh My God!
sliding on ice
still moving, still moving
HAHAHAHAHA!
amazing!
every moment counts
right into the belly of the beast
we’re going to get our gold
we’re either all in or all out
a circular pattern
ship is adrift
keep pulling, keep pulling
expect the unexpected
forecast is bad
decide to give it one more shot
we don’t want her to sink today
Oh My Gosh!
unpredictable current too strong for them
an urgent call
Good job!
gold in Greenland
it’s going
she’s underway
recover the anchor & chain
Do or die
we’re loggers--not psychiatrists
he’s full of piss & vinegar
we’re getting beat up in this boat
at the mercy of the elements
the gold feeling
I’m good—we’re out of here
Let’s do it!
muddy seabed
sleep on that for awhile
a dinghy…coming straight through to y’all
he’s seen enough
the clock ticks
searching for a golden shipwreck
we’re losing air
every moment counts
what the hell is going on?
I ain’t gonna die
running out of time
forecast is bad
closure not an option
It’s go time!
[Forget] this!

search or die
for amazing shipwrecks
a murky epic feeling
Good wildmen don’t sleep on the job
semi gold is adrift every time
chasing jackknifed cows on icy roads
Oh my Cow!
epic absurdity
searching for sinking gold
dissolving in viral weather
optional closure in Greenland
Oh the frozen minds
inexplicably adrift
streaming viral weather
going in no time
yet on time?
divers wave at epic forecasters
amazing rescue
slide on highways thru hell
a race against the elements
in these scenes of
Reality

My Sad, Little, Found Poem

Paint me a picture--
things you remember,
things you regret,
things you miss.
As if they are all ashes
of blissful memories.
Memories, you want
desperately to cling to.

Tell me a tale of solitude.
All in your life is moving
and you're standing still.
The rest of the world-
in warp speed.

I want you to tell me
how it feels.
Make me relate.
Make it real.

If you can make me cry...
that would be great.

The hardest thing in life
is to want desperately
to cry, but not have,
in you, the strength
to tear up.

Sword of the Dragon: Found Poem

Hiding, two steps back,
Golden helm on your head,
A slight bow,
smote blade against breastplate.
Jagged hills, clouds hiding a blue sky,
Distant screams of enemies and allies alike
 invade your hearing,
 Hope,
 The enemy doesn’t gain victory!

Watch!
White cape and grey beard, righteous prophet,
Pitch black dragon roared,
Draw your sword!
Light,
Shining through your blade
as if it were a diamond,
reflecting the blinding sun.

Your heart is stronger,
Hold your sword up high courageously,
Crystal blade sparkles,
Thunder rumbles and storm clouds roll in.
Zap!
Green lightning bolts strike near you.
Sorcery!
Bubbles of energy fall to the stoney ground,
The sparks grew, looking like it housed several men,
Nowhere to run and hide!
You, a powerful warrior, strong and mighty
refuses to back down,
Winged men fell from the sky,
Art’en!
Brown feathers shuddering,
Landed crouched on knees,
Dark wings folded,
Sickly gray skin quivers,
The Art’en charges!

Get ready!
Peace should reign,
Not this chaos,
With brethren fighting against brethren,
You grit your teeth,
Mercy, Mercy the Art’en cries.
You gently pick him up and carry him,
Hopefully you won’t live to regret it,
You are no better than he is.

Freely, give mercy,
Grant forgiveness from your heart,
Noble and true,
Humble and Honest,
The white dragon’s roar pierces through the silence,
Love good,
Hate evil,
The king has returned,
Darkness has been defeated!

Found Poem

The Angels that are in Heaven,
You know that I love you,
There must be something lost,
For I have an emptiness in the pit of my stomach,
I face the window,
And watch the patches of wildflowers,
That are blooming on the hill,
What we had is in the past,
I steal a look to see the lost memories that we shared,
I wonder how it would be to get one last kiss from you,
The taste of your lips on my lips,
I dream of the past,
And wonder what is too come,
How could I have been so blind to see the love,
That you had for me?
I wish it was true for me like it is with you,
Memories linger,
But it is time to move on,
And face the facts of life.

Premium Member Foundling, found poem

A mark of scarlet was the first,
Fitting of inferior character.
He was associated of plagues,
The name given of a tragedy.

The dead made a bottomless pit on him,
Rendered executed, the title of foundling.

Found Poem

Please shut

the ornamental

gate

gently -

lock can be

temperamental.

The lock

on the ornamental

front gate

has been sticking

and difficult to open.

If you find

that the lock refuses

to open,

please use the side

gate

by the kitchen.

The lock

seems to work

just fine,

if the last person

to close the gate

does not slam

it, but closes

the gate

gently.

Therefore, please

close

the ornamental gate

gently.

More Guns For Everyone Found Poem

Trump Administration Advances Plan to Relax Gun-Export Rules found Poem

The Trump administration
Sought to relax export rules for American small arms,
including semiautomatic rifles, handguns, and sniper rifles.

Because the NRA said
the solution to gun violence
Is more guns
 for everyone in the world

Everyone should be able
 to buy American made weapons
The best in the world after all
And everyone in the world
needs what the US
Wants to sell
?
The shift,
 is championed by gunmakers
 who say it
 will make them more competitive
in the international market.

Critics argue
an export policy
that favors commercial interests
 could put the national security
of the United States at risk
or harm diplomatic efforts.?“

“This decision is also politically tone-deaf
as our nation reckons
with a gun violence epidemic.”
?A State Department spokesman
said that the change
 would ease the regulatory burden
on American gun makers
and allow them to compete better globally.

Currently, the Department of State
monitors exports of nearly all weapons
.
“The world of firearms exports
is full of questionable, dubious characters.”

the Department of Justice
 and Department of Homeland Security
 criticized the change

because it could make it
 easier for transnational criminal organizations
or terrorists to get American-made guns.

But the NRA
They don’t care
More guns for all
Is the solution to all gun violence

And sadly, our President
Has sold his soul
To the NRA

Who offered him
Millions of dollars
In blood money

note: this may be too political and in your face but I don't care. I have had enough of this nonsense. We must stop the carnage in our streets! That’s my two cents worth and I am sticking to my guns pun very much intended.
