Diwali- Festival of Lights
DIWALI- FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS

Gilttery lamps, Myriad diyas and light
Illumination pan India filled with delight
Whole nation splendent like lovely bride
The zest of fest spread far and wide
From northern mountains, western sands
To eastern coasts and southern islands
The spirit of triumph of good over bad
To dispel darkness like...

Festival of Lights
Happy Diwali friends

As golden orb descends in dainty steps to invite
black darkness to embosom the sky at night
on this joyful eve of 'The Festival of Lights,
amidst dangling artifacts - a common sight,
my simple clay diya radiates light so bright:
glowing and gleaming steadily despite
swaying...

Premium Member Diwali, Festival of Lights
since nearly three millennia
the exact origin
muddled thru times
come every fall
from the Taj Mahal
to sacred temples
to the humblest homes
around the world
the festival of lights
dazzles during five days
of exuberant worship
and lush ritual in celebration
of triumph of good over evil
millions of oil lamps and candles
and sparklers are...

When lanterns paint the sky,
I'll weave tulsi trinkets, celebrate divine sight~
while stars fly..

Wings of new moon,
flare as festivals of delight,
in tune.

We praise,
eternal light~
rays.

When lanterns paint the sky,
flare as festivals of delight~
rays....

Twinkling stars in courtyard light up the sky,
On an absolutely dark moonless Diwali night ,
Sprit of festival comes in alive !

Everyone looks glamorous, in best of attire,
Colourful lights and candles glow bright,
Twinkling stars in courtyard light up the sky !

Warm Embrace puts an end to...

Festival of Lights
HANUKKAH
Festival of Lights/ Feast of Dedication,

As a kid, Hanukkah
was the Jewish replacement for Christmas,
But even better!
We celebrated for eight nights,
Which meant eight presents!
It was the festival of lights

We ate latkes or potato pancakes,
We Played with spinning tops called driedels
Sang the driedel song
Opened one present...

The Festival of Lights
Prayers in luster
Candles shimmer as fireflies
Graceful Diwali

**************************

Clamorous of noise
Firecrackers on exhibit
Children astonished

**************************

Clatter enlighten
Glamorous of sacred day
Be blessed among them

Happy Diwali for those whom celebrate...

Dewali Festival of Lights
Remember dewali in Trinidad
We use to decorate the streets
Then all my Hindu friends
Bring me foods and sweets

My table was full with
Food and all kind of goodies
Because my Hindu friends
Use to bring so much for me

Dewali marks the return
To ayodhya of lord Rama
He returns to...

Festival of Lights
From the sharp corners of the towering residence,
In perfect linear angles, the shadows slice the concrete path.
The blue party lights add ghostly vigour.
Brown hands toil, browned by rigour.

They dance around in rhythmic pandemonium
Through the murky cavities of the macabre residence.
Yet perfect silence prevails resolutely,
Stabbing vacuous...

Festival of Lights
From the time, I had this dream
I remember the stars I had seen,
And the splendor of lights passing
Between a brand new day awakening.
They came on tour to fill our eyes,
with the grandest festival of lights.
Dancing of knights enthralling delights.
Lanterns glowing on the fiery flight.
Their blankets...

The Festival of Lights
The darkness vanishes with lights gleaming
And the mind cheers up with good looming
The evil fades away with brightness arising
The festival of lights heralds with its tidings.

Darkness and ignorance move hand in hand
Fastening the soul to never-ending command
Thus obstruct its progress on the path eternal
Hence one...

The Festival of Lights
Autumn comes up
brining with it football
   and leaves of gorgeous hue
As the season fades
it is time for the festival of lights
Burning candles symbolize
a struggle begun
   a millennium or two age
A victorious struggle...

Festival of Lights
On Sunday the Festival of Light begins
Everyone does not know what that stands for
So I'll explain
It celebrates a revolt against oppression
by the Israelites
against cruel rulers
who refused to let them
practice their faith
The people of Israel triumphed
Led by...

These days of the year
  of darkness darkest
When longest nights are here

The sun sets early, rises late
the moon is on the wane
In 2020 COVID adds more pain

Enter Chanukah, the Festival of Lights
  each new candle burning bright
Piercing the darkness for eight...
