Autumn Afterglow

The fire logs glow, flickering to and fro
in her eyes he sees champagne dreams of love
the soft adagio plays a velvet tune of jazzing blow
right atop the hearth, she's fitted like a glove
Red hair flaming, ruby lips untamed her rubicon
a blush, acclaims her cheeks await the dawn;

Each dancer holds on cue precaution to the wind
style and grace in every move "amour est bleue"
with burning eyes of here, go rescind ,
a love is built on arcs of passion's queue;
Scarlet thoughts roseate skin enflamed a marathon
of amoureuse, bending arching longing one on one ;

Her hair a crayon colored Autumn proffers romance
and all the philharmonic musings of a lovely dream
together they loop meandered agile as a water dance
rushing towards each other skin to skin seam to seam ;
Wine colored kisses taking in a world of bless
garnet hearts of shine never to confess

they once lay dormant in the crook of night
now fired, ready to ignite....

GIANT CUPCAKE

With raisins, nuts and cinnamon
Quite moist all through
Not the usual 3-minute egg on toast
Oh no! I’m taking a chance on something new

Just a crack of dawn
Splotches through the trees
And with smoking black coffee
This special morning promises to please

Mondays, like any other
Count increasing wants and pains
All constipated within this hardening frame
Aching to evacuate, enflatulate
All with awareness enflamed

My simple wants are for those lost
Those which children possess
A healthy excitement and joy
Dramatic imagination –
Yes, that’s it, I guess

Ah, mind’s eye has gone sick white
For only sleep will stir imagination’s sight

I shake my head
Twist the catch from shoulder and neck
Sigh, and take a bite

Premium Member Refurbished Fairy Tales: Cinderella, If the Shoe Fits Part Two

At the ball...

At this point in the tale, a happy ending should be pending,
But readers now are more demanding,
And so, I'll tweak a bit the plot.
Cinderella made an entrance like aurora borealis
That sent a shockwave through the palace,
"Who is this chick? Man, she is hot!"

When the prince caught her attention, his anxieties enflamed him,
But when she smiled, he overcame them,
And asked her if she'd care to dance.
The king and queen were sore relieved
Because they'd had some apprehension,
To girls he'd never paid attention,
They thought him something of a "nance".

But by the time the waltz was over he was thoroughly enraptured,
This girl his royal heart had captured,
And her to wed he was inclined.
Mom and Dad looked on with pride,
And it was then and there decided
To get the two of them united
Before the prince could change his mind.

But he was well and truly hooked, and as to true love she surrendered,
Cindy suddenly remembered
She must be out of there by twelve.
If she hung around too long
Until the tower bell stopped tolling,
The whole darn thing would start unrolling,
The midnight knell would end the spell.

So Cinderella fled the ball, but just before the spell was broken,
She dropped a slipper as a token,
And hoped the prince would come around.
But when the clean-up crew was through,
Along with hairpins and nail clippers,
At least a dozen single slippers
Had been turned in to Lost and Found.

When the prince saw all those shoes, he didn't ponder which or whether,
Just one was crystal, the rest leather,
And he knew what he had to do.
He had his mother pack a lunch,
And Benzedrine he grabbed a fistful,
Then off he shot just like a pistol
In hot pursuit of that glass clue.

To be continued...

Who Though

Who would have thought the girl with the bright smile and joy enflamed in her eyes
Sits' in the corner crying herself to sleep every night
Who would have thought the boy walking the halls always giving a hand
Wishs' that when he sleeps the gentle light may seep him off his feet
Would would have thought the girl that ended her own life
Was raped, beaten and bullied at both home and school
Who would have thought our childrens children
Have sought to use weapons and let eragancy become them making them a fool
Who would have thought that no matter how we try for peace
We show our children war is the answer
Who would have thought that our guidence
Has be clouded and no longer is pure
Who would have thought teenage life is harder
When your getting bullied or picked on in school
Who would have thought that a person couldn't walk out of their house
With out fear of being raped, shot, or stabed and death is finally at your door
Who would have thought in life know a day's
Death is more near to our lives then ever before
    Who Would Have Thought

Oh, precious soul, your light ever shining,
Valentine, sing within the heart of night.
Without your song, my heart would be pining,
the soul extinguished in love's brightest light.
Oh, Valentine, let us sing together,
in Heaven's grace, our love burns like a fire.
Within love's embrace, we stand forever,
touched by Luna's light, we share our desire.

Two hearts mimic in unison, the be mine beat
echoing from cupid's golden wings,
hidden from sight behind midnight clouds,
observing the pure love he created.
Underneath a moonbeam spotlight
two souls intertwine, cloaked by Luna's veil,
accompanied by strings of Heaven's harp
and sugared whispers of sweet Valentine vows.

In love's embrace we shine, my Valentine,
as together we float through Heaven's grace.
I taste of love's wine as your lips meet mine,
your beauty sings in this Heavenly space.
My Valentine, ever hear my hearts song,
forever be my love's joy through the night.
Angel divine, in my heart's love you belong,
stay within my heart, my Angel delight.

Two souls, deeply enamoured, mutually charmed
since true love's beautiful budding moments.
A union destined to sustain this night,
oncoming dawn and forever onward.
Two hearts enflamed, fan the blaze always.
Rising from orange to red mimics the sun
caressing the Heavens, cradled in golden rays,
where our feet now tread, Oh Valentine.

Hi Kelly, thank you for sharing Ink with me on this wonderful collaboration. It has been an honour and a pleasure to work on this piece with you. It has been an enjoyable process. Happy Valentine's when it comes.

Euthanized Love

A violin sings low in sugar sweet voice
their wanton eyes locked in each other
temptation twitching to make a choice
in a burst of euphoria, caress of a lover.

unfurled petals with mesmeric dreams
waiting for vivacious spring to arrive
in heat of lust flutters enflamed beams
words tremble within playful jab and jive

in perfect harmony of paths disaligned
closer and closer... distant as the stars
where water meets sky in horizon behind
stardust swim a sea, for hours and hours

thousand shards broken heart endures
secluded memories in an old rusty box
Even though I know I will never be yours
Yet crippled and euthanized love unlocks.

Inhaling your breath, I flow in your veins
We can hear our hearts beating through
tempest raging a menaced world of pain
in a radiant blush, she says, "I still love you".

Psycho Cat - IT

"In my sabbatical dreams after quarantine"
Visions of life run again at full steam
A little stiff, a bit arthritic, like
"The eerie board walk creaks near the beach of white sand"
Shifting on trails in forests of shadows
Moaning an elegy – enflamed eulogy -
"When they told me of psycho cat’s demise"
A sad voice of aching news, realized
Not really a psycho, just catnip crazed,
Leaping in stagger – last of her nine lives -
While "the label, I hide, on the wine bottle"
Too many reminders of the passing
Of psycho cats in quarantine - alive
In my sabbatical dreams quarantined.

Who would believe your slim elegant body would win my affection,
when you gracelessly step on toes? Your soft doe skin of cream

spotted brown, floppy ears I threaten to turn into gloves as a joke.
Through many chain jangle calls for walks where you race and lunge

and bark fighting for the right to be with me, how could I turn you away?
When you almost die I am ready to give you away to death, hating the sick

green puke, you become skinnier despite the surgery until finally
one simple shot brings you back to us alive, slurping our hands and faces.

Busy days of science and humanities and government tucked up in a chair,
I forgot you, but you begged let me even eat your apple. let me sit in your lap

but you’re so big now you don’t fit and don't like apple. Chocolate chips cookies, though, a whole batch scarfed from the table and then you wiggle and wag tail,

snarl, your teeth clenched when I offer just one more. We all know who is guilty,
not you, your innocence, your steadfast defense, says it is our family who has forgot.

Finally, it is too late. You hurt too bad, spine enflamed, barely able to walk
or eat. Tomorrow your last day. I pick up the chain, you race happy to join me

down the row of maples losing their last autumn leaves, where my brother and I lead you plodding like an old man, stopping to breathe, and I see stars in my eyes,

saying goodbye. Goodbye to the lady of our family, the Dalmatian Duchess
who loved us best, walked beside us through our childhood days like a guardian.

Bratwen was a knight of slight ill repute
his good deeds oft times ending up caput
he strived to reach the halls of fame
yet it always seemed to end up in blame.

He heard tales of a damsel oh so very fair
who appeared to have vanished into thin air.
Her suitors one and all most hot her to find,
yet her captor wished in wedlock her to bind.

The king enraged very soon did proclaim
whoever saved her, honour could reclaim
Bratwen set out, his heart by beauty enflamed
the monster in his sights he quickly tamed.

Astoria so happy to be free at him glanced
fell in love and to Bratwen became financed
they circled that hall of fame as they danced
his steed carried them away while both romanced.

Premium Member The Saint Patrick Day Leprechaun

Dragon sat in the bushes all night long, for he wanted to catch himself a Leprechaun.
See Leprechauns have gold by the buckets full, and Dragon wanted himself… some.
So our sly little Dragon had put a lit up rainbow, on our garage door, to be cast on…
St. Patrick’s Day was in the morning, and he wanted some of those golden charms.

He’d read: You gotta get up, so very early, to be able, to even a little, trick those guys.
For those wily Leprechauns are the cleverest critters, which were ever seen… to arise.
So Dragon had dressed up in the Irish green, topped with a cute little Leprechaun hat.
You see, Dragon believed he was, the slyest thing, put on this earth, here… ever… yet.

Sure enough, at the break of dawn… a Leprechaun came snooping, stealthily around.
Strangely, he looked about 3 years old, the same age of our Dragon, or there, around.
They hit it off immediately, with so much in common, at that tender age and time.
Finally together, they dug up the pot of gold, which the Leprechaun’s magic did rise.

They had decided to share the wealth, of any gold, they did hope to some how find
But darn, the Leprechaun was unhappy, at the small amount of gold before his eyes.
He swore our Dragon had dug it up early, and already taken his own share… after all…
Dragons were known to be the greediest things ever put on this earth, he did recall.

Yes, he’d seen thru Dragons disguise, and had seen the wily-ness of it all… so true…
So the Leprechaun threw a crying hissy fit, the likes of which Dragon had never knew.
He raged on and on, how his new best friend could ever think to cheat him, Boo Hoo!
Now, Dragon began to feel very guilty for what he had originally, truly, wanted to do.

So in the end he gave it all away, to his newest best friend, who left without an adieu.
At that our dear little Dragon, felt proud for what he had finally achieved and done.
That is until he looked at his own little bitty horde of gold… that was suddenly gone!
Yep the little Leprechaun, had stolen it fast away! With his magic he had transferred…

Dragons gold to the Leprechauns beloved pot! Now Dragon became enflamed at it all!
At what the Leprechaun had done… Until Grandpa Troll reminded him with the moral:
Don’t be surprised… if you get burned… when you play with fire, my little friend!
The End!

Laments, Lady of Charlotte, To Lancelot

In the garbage lilies may bloom
Yet in its odor will always loom
Faint traces of its abused past
Wounds may fade but traces last

Had heaven pity on this fool
And struck her down dead where she lay
That she did not see another day
Mourned in loss and wasted away

If I tore out these eyes of mine
And blinded to the sight divine
That caught my eyes, I will not sin
By yearning love not mine to keep

When I first tasted love’s venom
How enflamed passions burnt anew
Love pulsed through my soul, a fiery hue
Yet overcomes now solemn Fate,
I am innocent no more.
I will ne’er be what I was before

I depart now, wretched heart
From the remainders of my waste
In hopes that in my death regain
What love I sought and sought in vain

Your lady fair sure owns your heart
Yet your remorse mine for evermore
In the shadows I will meet thee
In your darkest hours to greet thee
Midst deadly silence, fancies free me
Whisper, but my name, you’ll see me…

The Diary:

He found her diary while she was out one day
Reading the entries made him vexed
He saw a lover she secretly concealed
And with revenge he decided, she will pay
He read on and this is what the diary had to say

Dear Diary today he bought me flowers
He took me out to dinner
Back at the house we had champagne
Then he made love to me for hours

Dear diary my husband and I had a fight
He said hurtful things and said, “Watch it my dear”
He lunged at me in a threatening manner
My body shook in uncontrollable fear

Dear diary he looked at me in that way
That makes me feel… wanted
He took me out and
Like a rare diamond, I was flaunted

Dear diary my husband, oh my husband
The evil man, he said the most horrible thing
Saying the food I cooked was awful
As if I am serving a king

Dear diary his soft gentle hand was…
Caressing my inner thighs
He makes me weak, I love him so
His body hypnotises my eyes

He ripped the book in a rage
And threw it in the bin
As he paced up and down
Not noticing on the floor one diary page

He went upstairs and wired the shower
To give her an electric shock
She’ll be home soon he thought
And it will be over in an hour

She came home and switched on the shower
Singing while she got undressed
Her voice enflamed his jealous thoughts
As he gritted his teeth in detest.

Then he heard a short loud scream
That brought chills to his bones
And found her dead in the shower
Of their quiet secluded home.

He went satisfied in to the kitchen
And prepared a cup of tea
When he noticed stuck under his shoe
A page from his wife’s diary

Dear diary some times my husband is like another man
When he treats me like a woman that’s what I love and adore
But sometimes my husband upsets me
And I don’t know whether I love him or hate him more.

Premium Member I Started As a Joke

In the beginning, you thought I was a joke.
It was the essence that I was broke,
With shattered hope, revoked with a choke.
Without anyone, to revere me as close;
Foretold, unchosen, not bold,
I've been molded as a soldier of doom.
Screaming insanely, and used as a tool.
This isn't as wise, to mistake me a fool.
I'm a crowned jewel, covered in a pool;
Of blood and madness,
Discarded, my past in sadness.
But today, I'm a mage,
Rampage on display.
As the viewers turn the page,
I'm better than clay.
I wont be washed away,
Or used and thrown to waste.
I'm not stupid, or loose in chains;
I'll run, and I will paint this world a face.
Show them all, I'm not someones jester;
I'm not a joke, but I will fester.
Take me lightly,
And I'll be laughing lastly.
A timely punishment, gone badly.
Ironically, you've been bested blindly.
Until the end of this riddle,
I wont be in the middle;
Pushed and used, I'm cynical.
The ends wont justify the means,
Nor be predictable.
This is my ritual, as I'm maddened with Issues.
Believe it or not, there's visuals;
Much like the ones in my head.
Like the time, I've been taken from my pen.
Let loose I'm out of my cage,
I'm crazed and decayed;
But I've still got rage.
Nows the time, to make them pay.
As I lay the entire world ablaze;
I'll be dancing mad inside the flames.
Though I am insane,
I'm not a dope.
Enflamed and up in smoke,
They'll all soon know;
That in the end, I'm no ones joke.

Through Their Eyes - For Contest

Intended as a soliloquy

Could this man have been a killer?
In dark pursuit of ones demise.
Steadfast vengeance as my pillar
Consumed resolve, no compromise.

No greater gift, there is but life
Yet blood stained hands I seek to claim.
A placid lamb now armed with knife
Purloined harmony has enflamed.

Now here I tread upon the hunt
Within a stones throw of my prey
Eye for an eye he must confront
I close my own for strength this day.

Lost memories do flood my mind
Those better times before the grey.
Family joy long since declined
Emotions spilt in disarray.

He’s seen me now I’ve broken stealth
Instead of fear I see his mirth.
I can’t claim back what was my wealth
Yet I return him to the earth.

What creature have I just become?
Bound to bitterly seek revenge.
I sought rapture, instead I’m numb
My daughters death I have avenged.
