Best Encouragements Poems
To you, O women great, in obeisance, I bow,
For your primary forms of mother, sister, mate;
Full of love, patience, kindness and compassion, how,
The almighty has adorned you with goodness great;
As planners and arrangers, today, you excel,
As big bosses chiefs and heads, powers vast you wield;
Teachers, officers, authors - In all you seem good,
Care, caution and concern - with you go very well,
As economists, to homes and globe, wealth you yield;
In your head and heart, virtues reside as they should...!
Incarnation of love! You’re my inspiration!
Visionary you are; your views always outshine;
So beautiful! True jewel of any nation!
In forms of goddess, you dwell-in many a shrine;
Your perfection permeates limits of the sky,
Your determination deepest of depth pierces;
In patience is like the forbearing mother earth!
Your optimism outgrows the very palm tree, high,
Your trustworthiness, every painful hearts, nurses,
Honesty and loyalty, in you, find no dearth...!
In integrity, O women, you're never less,
Sense of wit and humor in life you never lack;
With grace of forgiveness you raze all hatred-mess,
Your nature of nurturing heals each psychic crack;
Your encouragements make the humanity grow;
Your fun and frolics, happiness in hearts, blossom,
In facing hardest of challenges, you've no match!
Thoughts and feelings in you, like the gentlest breeze, blow,
There lies constant comfort in your benign bosom;
Wisdom and wit, with you, merrily, get attach...!
You've been the source of all human origin,
Wombs that have given birth to global history;
In, form of, immaculate virgin with no sin,
You've brought the redeemer, full of mystery;
It's hence; I extol you, dear women, to the heights,
Strength and power of the universe hides in you;
Creating, protecting, destroying each power!
Hills mountains, vales, landscapes and all marvelous sights,
Earth and ether were born by feminine strength too,
My wish is to be your friend each-and-every hour...!

Leaderboard paradox
Bard, crank or chatterbox
Irreconcilable
Most undeniable
Two titles possible?
Can't have all three
Flourish and elegance
Meter and relevance
Grasp of the elements
Sensitive delicate
Post the best poetry
For all to see
Building community
Post with impunity
Dishing encouragements
Never discouragements
Attaboy lunacy
Nice job! Spondee
Magnitude, quantity
Content moronity
Quality suffering
Sputtering, stuttering
Faster through brevity
Haiku for me
Where is the paradox?
Chatter and atta-talks
Raising poetic stocks
Moving up leaderboards
Elevates all their scores
Best that you just ignore
All your competitors'
New poetry
Elegant, painstaking
Beautiful, time-taking
Longer time finishing
Numbers diminishing
Falling so rapidly
Not even on page three
Drop productivity
Maybe you finish a
Poem or three
Status? ridiculous
Leaders? superfluous
Seek to equilibrate
Advocate, animate
Irreconcilable
Paradox schmeradox
Sharing delightfully
Cranking productively
Poetry supersedes
All rivalry

A SISTERS LOVE
Hearts dearest companion,
My sister shines,
Mine protectorates against,
Harms deepest heartache.
A sheltering umbrella,
Repelling tear drops
Painful moments.
Comrades council, wisdom’s
Listening ear,
Defenders outspoken adviser,
Ever ready
With tissues in hand.
When in hearts sorrowful,
Shadows do I weep,
No other embrace holds,
Me closer then you.
Loves everlasting angel
Resides within her,
Behold our spiritual connection.
Softly whispering tender
Encouragements,
Champions warrior stands,
Tall beside me.
Built strong resolves,
Foundational roots,
She never yields, against
Challenges winds.
Spirits kindred, a flame burning
Clarity's light,
We’ll meet together.
On the other side, always drifting
But never apart.

In battles hymn, raise your shield,
Sharpen metals sword.
All hail bow low unto Rome,
Be blinded by opulence's glitter,
And greed’s excess
Salves feel her golden sandles,
Upon bare skins flesh.
Shackles hand cuffs, bind generations,
Under whips task masters.
Architectural thieves, swallowing,
Cultures as the serpent gorging itself.
On it's twisted belly the beast,
Encircles it's prey.
At blades sharp edged point, the innocent
Lie slain,
In histories dust humanity bleeds.
Crimson skies light Cesar's horizon,
As thousands gather in the Colosseum.
The gladiator stands alone, facing madness's
Throne
Awaiting death's final release from bondage.
A simple thumbs motion,
Down meaning liberation,
Up for another soul taken.
Behold blood sports ultimate challenge,
To live or die by strength and valor.
Fates twisted sense of humor,
Laughs at him behind justice's,
Blackened curtain.
Mocking the crowds lustful,
Calls of encouragements.
Sacrifices altar burns brightly,
Upon the false Gods alabaster statue.
Patiently waiting veracity’s venom,
Ambitions royal descriptors feasting,
At harvests festive table.
The warrior faces reflections honored soul,
And behind them destiny's predator stalks,
Those soon to fall it's victim.
To a coiled cobra poised to strike,
Decadence audience claimers at fevers pitch,
Adrenaline rush, excelling the
Combatants deadliest game.
Immoralities remembrances,
Or defeats cowardly shame.
Devastation final reckoning
To the victor goes spoils waste,
For the dead remains emptiness.
Champions hero kneels before,
The emperor's mighty power.
An evergreen crown of laurel leaves,
His treasures only gift.
Freedoms mercy to live another day,
Beyond the arenas iron gates.

Catharsis
By Carolyn Devonshire
heart
wisdom
comes with age
experience
so many emotions and events stored
flushed quickly from memory to my page
release, let go
catharsis
gives me
peace
Age and Experience
Carolyn's poem Catharsis had special meaning to me because we grew to be friends.
Two souls sharing emotions freely has broadened my eternal perspective.
Encouragements Carolyn has given helped me believe in myself.
I am very grateful for her step-by-step guidance to publishing.
Self-respect reflected upon an inefficient past until her.
Looking deeper into myself and caring, we realized a unique closeness.
Friendship is a two way street, where love meets in the middle.
Carolyn has been a loved and special friend of mine for several years.
I hope to have been of value to her in my own way as she has also been -
Wisdom gained through sharing experiences...and peace.

Narrative
In the football field of life, vastly wide
We play various roles, of which we take pride
By standards and rules we abide
While toward victorious goal-scoring, we stride!
For rejuvenation time-out moments
We delight in cheerers’ encouragements
Along various sponsors’ refreshments
Thanking the Lord for His grace endowments!
With my faith-driven championship fervor
I trust God, my Coach, for wisdom’s favor
Praying to Him for my service-endeavor
Reaching-out triumphs* I sweetly savor!
*Psalm 25:2 O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.

You gave me charity, hospitality, and love
You gave me charity, hospitality, and love
You gave me charity, hospitality, and love
I was hungry, you gave me food
You gave me meat to eat
I was thirsty you gave me drink, that's sweet
And I was a stranger you took me in
Housed me for a moment placed a roof over my head
Naked and shamed shoe less you clothes me
I was torn weary and sick
Still you took me in,took me in
You gave me
You gave me charity, hospitality, and love
You gave me charity, hospitality, and love
You gave me charity, hospitality, and love
I was in prison and you came to me
And as a stranger you took me in
You hugged me, shown love toward me
You gave me monies, encouragements, food and more, it's true
I was torn, weary, and sick
Yet you told me I was yet blessed
I was hungry, you gave me food
You gave me meat to eat
I was thirsty you gave me drink, that's sweet
And I was a stranger you took me in
Housed me for a moment placed a roof over my head
Naked and shamed shoe less you clothes me
I was torn weary and sick
Still you took me in,took me in
You gave me
You gave me charity, hospitality, and love
You gave me charity, hospitality, and love
You gave me charity, hospitality, and love

Lyric
"I carry your heart with me (I carry it in my heart) I am never without it"
Quote _ by E.E. Cummings
Your touches, kisses, embraces; and each loving gesture;
Your angel-filled, heaven-filled even phantom-filled stories;
Your flavorful delicacies; thoughtfully-spun vesture;
Your care when I was ill, more than my mother, for my ease...
I competed, at your thrust, picking cashew-nuts and plums,
Your encouragements made me successful in little works;
Though I could find never a single tooth in your pink gums,
There was a miraculous balm in your smile, with no smirks...
Your dutifulness, compassion, warmth, affection and trust,
Coolness in dealings; respect to all, full of innocence;
Never feeling bored, as with everything you could adjust;
Optimism and other virtues have become my essence...
Rest In Peace, O Grandma, at the hands of eternity,
Until we meet again in heavenly fraternity...!

Sonnet
In his blue eyes there are beautiful smiles
Whispers of joy, inspirations flowing
Encouragements to help me through trials
In silence, my love for him is growing
Gentling my spirit with tenderest grace
Whispers of joy, inspirations flowing
Light falls over my heart, like an embrace
Comforting all loss with such restful peace
Gentling my spirit with tenderest grace
When he kisses me, the joy will not cease
This love frees me to be me, without shame
Comforting all loss with such restful peace
He surely loves me and no one’s to blame
With passion like fire there is real trust
This love frees me to be me, without shame
Romance like this is first found in stardust
In his blue eyes there are beautiful smiles
With passion like fire there is real trust
Encouragements to help me through trials

Poetry Soup I have barely tasted,
an I do enjoy it's wholesome flavor,
to deny my taste buds of something I like,
will in no doubt put me in strife.
So long have I searched for a place that feels right,
I've channeled through hundreds of websites,
then right before I eyes Poetry Soup appeared,
it put a smile on my face, that ended a bad year.
I haven't been here long, only just settling in,
I may have a few poems, but I've yet to begin,
I don't plan leaving for this is my second home,
I feel comfortable here, I don't feel alone.
I now have soup to start my day,
then again at night before I lay,
through out the night when I can't sleep,
I just can't resist having a peep.
To take this away, would make me sad inside,
no doubt my writing, I'd put away and hide,
the atmosphere here is what brought it out,
so long it's been in the shadows, because of doubt.
Poetry soup I feel lets me be free,
all the structure and input here fuels me,
endless encouragements that make me feel alive,
without my soup, i'd just hold everything inside.

Poetry Soup friends are rare, yet precious treasures
Offering kindred bond beyond poetic measures
Empowering communication prowess midst word-usage pressures
Tending to souls with every remarkable message that assures
Reaching hearts’ fissures with hope and love enclosures
Yes, indeed expressing honest approval of favor’s pleasures.
So privileged am I to have friends in this global poetry site
Opening to me opportunities to express myself as I earnestly indite*
Upon truths I believe can build lives according to what’s right
Prompted by my faith and relationship with God of blissful delight.
Friends, I thank you for your kind comments
Really pleased am I with your sincere encouragements
Influencing me to do my best in my submission-engagements
Enabling poetic gift* to be harnessed through your compliments---
Nourished and nurtured midst varied sentiments and predicaments
Dealt well around differing perspectives in my exposure-involvements
Satisfied am I, sustained with triumph of writing endowments.
*Psalm 45:1 My heart is inditing a good matter: I speak of the things which I have made touching the king: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.
**2Timothy 1:6 Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.

Encourage someone today
O' passions flower
Father's Sons and Daughters
Old withered tree beneath thee
Rain clouds over me
Unto the altar
I have done judgments
And for them always
Encourage someone today
Someone's feelings sad and lonely
Encourage someone today
Bother you do
Just but where our my brothers keepers
Oh! Lord oh! God my brothers my sisters
Amidst the church steeples
Do they love me
Chirstian humanity any one being
Whatever my encouragement
Least be known, there's more than none
Encourage
Encourage
Encourage someone today
Those patients flowers the Father's children
His Sons His Daughters as the tree beneath Him
Roots grow
Beyond reaching coming to the ocean
You have done judgment and you have grown
Ooh! Lord God so love my brothers-sisters
Do they love me
Where are my encouragements ?
encourage someone today
When someone's down and sad and laden
Encourage someone today

Dramatic Monologue
one of our SUNdays is missing! - an ode to #sir Isaac Awofe Adebowale
standing tall, with the poise and elegance of gallantry. handling all, like the GOC of an infantry.
a beacon that always beckons
a shining star that travels far.
like an in-loco-parentis- our DADDY
a friend and playmate to everyone- our PADDY
carrying our weights- our CADDY
a one stop call to borrow wisdom - our GHANDI
when we err, our refuge for soft LANDING.
for boldness gutts enfrontry temerity and dexterity he was outSTANDING!
like no other-a father.
a ladder- yet to see any one longer.
a man that gathers,
a bright feather, a petal, a pace-setter.
A bridge, a fence, a sharp lens.
a game changer, A tears stopper,
through all these attributes, GOD saw him getting tired. Could a been refired but a cure was not to be.
HE wrapped him in his loving arms and whispered "come with me"
He suffered so much in silence yet his spirit did not bend.
Facing his pain with courage until the very end.
He tried so hard to stay with us but his fight was not in vain. he sent us text messages of prayers and encouragements every sunday afternoon to start the new week.
now one of our SUNDAYS is missing!
because we wont get that message tommorrow.
good nite sir!

Blank verse
Nobody loves themself more than a black person does
nobody is as big-hearted to call strangers ‘bro or ‘cous
always hugging and kissing to convey what can’t be said
Expressing the way they feel with a gentle stroking of the head
Nobody engages in thoughtfulness more than black people do
they have to be fully persuaded before they decide to follow you
always questioning the status-quo, not conforming just to fit in
You must tell them where you coming from, show them where you been
Nobody is more handsome than a black man with wit
knowing a little of everything, a strong-minded man who’ll never quit
always laboring under the sun, working in complete anonymity
Flexing his quiet confidence without compromising his integrity
Nobody is more accepting than a black woman with smarts
wise enough to understand all delicate matters of the heart
always willing to sacrifice in order to help the poor in need
Never turning her back on them, not giving up til they succeed
Nobody is as spiritual as an extended black family
a loving, caring bloodline branching throughout the generational tree
always showing mercy by forgiving one another’s faults
Confessing to each other, they’re godly gems stored in clay vaults
Nobody hates themself less than a black child does
constantly being reassured with encouragements of love
always believing that one day they would grow even darker wings
Becoming a beautiful blacker swan, attracted to unseen eternal things
