Eloquence and Grace

Eloquence and Grace were sisters on the run
In a place that valued hate
They found that they had none

They sought a world of kindness
Where love and friendship grew
They hoped that such a place exists in 1692

They heard of a new world, a welcome mat for all
From every meager walk of life
Where freedom will stand tall

They journeyed far to seek a life
In all love would allow
I wonder how they’d feel today, if they could see us now

Premium Member Lacking Eloquence

Lacking

Lacking eloquence
Lector lacking

Bullfrogs and lemmings crooning
In the swamp of dim intellect
Spewing their haughtiness
Through their noses the spittle drops
Collecting in murky waters

Their stagnation hiding within their bubble of hate
When the swamp dries lest it be said
No one will be opening heavens gate
One can not persuade a mind painted in black
They the commoners’ collect like old dishes
On a dirty rack

Should the Cellarer ever turn his back
Plato’s will attack in their packs
Airs of allusive elegance
Slipping away into the darkness
Of extinction

For those with black hearts and feeble minds
They shall never see the ends of times
Only when the white rose comes to full bloom
Shall the meek and kind find their true home
They shall be with angels above

As those assemble in the quire
Songs melodic under the arch
Brothers plotting after songs depart
Time eternal yet as always coward’s preach
Solace coming from wisdom's speak

Their persuasion lacking sincere tone
As the sinners lay underneath cold stone

Eloquence of Silence

A rainbow once said
To fall falling in cascade,
What use loudmouth made
When silence can say a lot,
Wordless, when the words cannot.

Poet’s note: A deep thicket of green forest surrounds a valley wherein falls a cascade piercing the tranquillity that reigns otherwise. In waters gathered in the valley before flowing away as a river, a reflection of a rainbow peeps out as if to say something to the noisy waterfall. And this Tanka gets born.

The Eloquence of a Tear --Beseech

Oh, fuming teardrop!
You’ve boiled over from wrath and anger,
leaving painful blisters as you sear the heart
Why you don’t evaporate is a wonder
but there must be a valid reason…
If only to let the heart know it lives
Oh, fuming teardrop!
Will you ever learn how to forgive?

Oh, defiant teardrop!
Teetering on the edge and glistening,
refusing to fall to make yourself known
It is not fickle mindedness playing,
rather, a power play of emotions
a blatant refusal to show what’s within
Oh, defiant teardrop!
Why even stop yourself before you begin?

Oh, crocodile teardrop!
If you were truly so, slink back shamefully,
recede to your lacrimal gland and stay put
There is no need for your insincerity,
the world is chaotic as it is, too troubled
Fall not, trickle not, trick not who see you
Oh, crocodile teardrop!
How can you be so heartless to fool people so true?

Oh, pensive teardrop!
How gracefully you streak down window sills
Wash away grime and grit, cleanse everything
Flow unhindered, purify hearts you fill
Laughter may be the music of the soul,
but you are pure— the distilled spirit
Oh, pensive teardrop!
Will you course down blackened hearts, pay a visit?

Oh, jubilant teardrop!
Married to laughter, frolic and dance to its tune
Give birth to hope then soar with elation
Brighten faces, sparkle days, light up the moon
Let souls remember that you speak of pain, joy
Let them remember, then allow them to heal
Oh, jubilant teardrop!
Why did I ever doubt that you are spirit revealed?

The Eloquence of Billiards

Her smile shed a glow,
  her smirk shows her skill,
cutting on the curvature,
banking on the opponent,
dropping like a pro,
        moving like a dancer
             sculpted of sensual stone
smooth and flawless,
braids cascading down
    emphasizing lushes lips of pink.
Tantalizing
    dark eyes
        drawing you in
stalling your game,
the epitome
of a full moon in a cloudless sky
           at midnight,
the eloquence of natural beauty.

Premium Member Eloquence of Election

Expressions penned from soulful contemplation,
Rather rhymed, in form, or in free verse style,
May not decide my choice between the two.
It is the sense of awe that is the draw...
Awe that leaves one feeling so inspired,
Tears well up in eyes and deep sighs follow.
Poetry may rival the rising sun
With wondrous colored shades from dark to light.
Aquatic tunes in concert with moon's moods
Enchant us with the music they impart.
As love extolled in lover's lexicon
Rather rhymed with iambic expertise,
Or with angelic wings of free verse flight,
I love them both, I could not choose just one.

Misting Eloquence (Katelynn)

Breathless......
She starves me for words
      making
                    it
                       hard
to describe
    such picturesc beauty
        with a face
   that stops my pen.

But I stumble on
    grasping at words
being spawned
        by her presence,
in my mind
  I see her
    standing by
a secluded pond
     with cliffs
          on the far side,
six slender waterfalls
     raining down
spraying off
     protruding rocks
  causing a mist
      to dampen
her lushes
          curly redish golden hair,
and here I sit
within the edge of the woods
staggered
      by the appearance
                 of a wood nymph.

Snowflake Eloquence

Snowflakes eloquent and real,
Falling from the heavens,
Makes the world a winter wonderland,
To behold and bless,
Snow everywhere touching the rooftops,
Houses caressed with snow,
A snowman in yonder meadow,
Smiles at the passersby,
Snowflakes falling slowly and melting,
Snow on a winter's day,
Regal and unassuming,
God's paintbrush painting a winter postcard.

Delusions of Eloquence

Lungs that exhale lofty tones,
higher learning ... Mt. Olympus invocation
Elevated flung lightning bolts of linguistic illusion,
fancy worded dreams
floating ...
between
open cranial empty spaces

Diaphragm skywalkers
verbally illuminating prosthetic landscapes
of skin-deep lip topography
Giving interval beeps
of sonar, irregular equality

Maimed assumptions broken
and bent at the knees
Another Po’ Boy sandwich
pressed between two white bread homilies

Lifted up from the boot straps of society,
raising scrap expectations
not patron saint funded adequately

Pardon this underbelly pale naïveté —
Delusions of pauper eloquence
is negative sum ghetto certified positively

Battered rent conditions
feeling the po’ economic handicap pocket tease
Another Black Forest ham sandwich
pressed between
an upper and lower enamel sound byte squeeze

Green pasture illusion of freedom
does make for an idyllic graze docile situation
Delusions of fluent eloquence
be the rose cheeky flow of a grandiose nation

Peak of Eloquence

Oh! Ali , the son of Abu Talib ,
Today I have read your book ‘’Peak Of Eloquence ‘
And seen your pain and agony through which
You had gone from bottom to top in the journey of your life
I understand what treasure you have left for us
By the way you gathered experience
In dealing with friends and foes
Caprice and conspiracy, wrath and anger
Malice and lies in the lanes and by-lanes of power
Your heart might have gone through thousand cuts
Yet you have kept honesty at a great height
Your intense love for knowledge is like the man’s love for wealth
Your hate for ignorance is like our abhorrence of poverty
As it is the worst of death
And makes people stranger in their own land
You are more than right when you said
No wealth is more useful than intelligence
No solitude is more horrible than when people avoid us
For our vanity and conceit
No eminence is more exalting than piety
No companion can prove more useful than politeness
No knowledge is superior to deep thinking and prudence
No worship or prayers are more sacred than fulfilling obligations and duties
No religious faith is loftier than feeling ashamed of doing wrong
Nothing is more respectable than forgiveness and forbearance
No support or defense is stronger than consultation
And you correctly observed when you said that many people go
Without getting anything out of their fast
But hunger and thirst,
And out of their night prayers
They get nothing but exertions and sleepless nights
But a wise and sagacious person gets all the praise
Though he does not keep fast and sleep during nights
Oh! Ali, I salute you for your pearls of wisdom
 And wisest guidance .

Etude In Prose

Etude in Prose
{SCRIPT to prose}

SCRIPT::
I am afraid you presume too much
Mr Battersea If I have lent you
reason to believe this
   I assure you otherwise

Accept my apologies please Miss Schofield
I did not mean to offend News I have heard
inclined me to give the event creedence

Mr Battersea I advise you not to indulge
yourself in the meanderings of gossip
I hope I shan't hear any more of this matter

If I may Miss Schofield allow me to offer
apology by means of Miss Schofield
would you accompany me to dinner?

My Mr Battersea you catch me unawares
Let me check my diary and I shall forward
you my reply through Bertrand, my father's valet

Shall we return to the party?
Yes yes we shall

prose

Excuse me Mr Battersea whatever
are you saying?
If there was a notion to pursuade
you to lend creedence to this matter
let me tell you that the
case is otherwise

I do beg your pardon
Miss Schofield News that I had
heard gave me cause to have concern
I wish I had not brought the matter up
     even though it seems absurd
This Garden's secludity
  provides the perfect opportunity
to approach you on this matter
  as is my concern

Please allow me to advise you
Mr Battersea if I may That meanderings
of gossip can lead one's mind astray
For it is many I would rather that
collect in idle chatter And matters grow
in great degrees as this case shall be
On this matter I hope not to speak about it anymore today

If I may Miss Schofield allow that I
may offer by means of an apology
   Miss Schofield Will you please
do me the Honour to accompany me
For Dinner so that our company is not
parted in an unpleasant way?

My Mr Battersea you have caught me
unawares Allow me to confer with
my commitments I shall send word
on the morrow with my father's Valet Bertrand

Shall we return to the Marquis?

Yes yes We may

Eloquence of Beauty

If time witnesses pleasure out way the balance do one follows
Eloquence Of Beauty
Fatigue gas tank on empty vision doors open enchantment blushes setting
Late or on time perhaps evanescence of time can tell
Luxurious does it take from the pleasure or give to that of the beauty time tick tell the grace
Wait
If one sense one says what is the next of best of you?
Forgive me for speaking out of turn
Put of the essence does time wait for nothing?
To replay for a moment
Take for Instinct
Seconds for seconds take for instinct a presentation how does words projection the feelings
Kiss on the neck give life to the situation better then a look goodbye
Late or on time perhaps evanescence of time can tell
Grant a meaning for reasoning second guesting is out of the will
To start off
If one has falling in love heads over heel dashboard confession
Can I be Honest?
Better yet moons that form and days turn to tonight’s
Can you see a flower bloom before the season?
Late or on time perhaps evanescence of time can tell
Or is it another crush
Is orange your favorite color
Crush on you
