Eloquence and Grace

Eloquence and Grace were sisters on the run
In a place that valued hate
They found that they had none

They sought a world of kindness
Where love and friendship grew
They hoped that such a place exists in 1692

They heard of a new world, a welcome mat for all
From every meager walk of life
Where freedom will stand tall

They journeyed far to seek a life
In all love would allow
I wonder how they’d feel today, if they could see us now

This one is so different from a lot of poems that I have read and beautifully crafted :) Eloquence and Grace seemed not just two sisters but two timelines as well.

What a thought-provoking poem, without a trace of rancor or preaching in it. I say, Amen, Brother Mike---and FAVE it. So well-done. (I'm a tad jealous, as I haven't been able to pull my 'message' poems off as smoothly as this). Best always, Gershon

I believe that our music being changed from 432Hz to inharmonic 440 Hz is the answer to why there is so much road rage. Have a look at this link Mike, you may agree. A moving poem my friend! https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded_uturn&v=-3gLxPdamK8

this one is interesting. But just think of all the hate going in with slavery and the criminal types that were coming to America so long ago. Human nature is human nature, but technology has spread it in more hideous ways.

Thought provoking verse Mike, sadly today there are many who value hate above love. Tom.

Love, kindness, friendship are still prevalent.. except for those who now reject the welcome mat for the newcomers. I appreciate the sentiments of your poem, Mike.
