-----------Elementary Love----------

Fate
knew best,
as fingers
intertwined souls
weaving…bringing elements together

A patch of soil, a whisper in the wind
a blackened storm,
wish ablaze--
finding
love

~***~

Earth
embraced
slumbered seed
nurturing it
making room for it, and letting it grow

Through the years, this tree stood steadfast…solid
rooted deeply
yet pliant,
humbly
strong

Air
carries
tall tree’s wish
soars, touches stars
that whisper to the Heavens, blow kisses

Leaves...

The consumate sleuth Sherlock Holmes
Hardly lacking the wit chromosomes
With the faintest of clues
To bemuse and confuse
Cracked crimes in the Welsh catacombs

Mrs. Lightfoot had taught music at Talbot Elementary School for years.
A couple of her pupils excelled in music but most became engineers.
She sat at her desk to muse upon the past after another trying day,
Recalling events that had contributed to the 'dyeing' of her hair...

I

First period each morning she meets their languid sighs
Their low moaning at new tasks to be undertaken
She must be upbeat, no matter her personal woes,
In her crisp, clean dress and comfortable walking shoes
She steps briskly around the room with encouraging
Words, smiles for the underprivileged...

It's Elementary
The work I did was playing with the angels
We read and painted, dressed up for Halloween as rangers
The Universe so close from dry, paper mache
With older kids we even wrote an Etheree

The work I did was traveling to Europe
With twenty of my students and...

Sandy Hook Elementary
Taken Away
Though they wanted to stay
Christmas just a week away
Not having a chance to say goodbye
Leaving mom and dad behind
Peace and Comfort they need to find
A senseless Act
Wishing they just came back
No words can be said
Hugging my children tighter before they head to bed
Reminding us...

Elementary My Dear
I suggest
you continue
teaching ABC's
coloring inside
the lines
if you please
an open mind
is required
not a degree
so stay
on the couch
leave the
poetry to me...

Lovely Elementary School
Playground

Running around the playground,
Oh how I wish I could stick around.
Ouch I just fell on the ground,
Oh how I love the sound.

Science

Dissecting frogs,
Checking out different kinds of logs.
There's even jars with baby hogs,
I've even learned about different kinds of bogs.

Art

I like painting lots of...

Elementary Grades
By Franklin Price
5/3/2016

Elementary grades took long to come
Could not wait to get me some
Five other siblings went before
So I knew a little of the score

Was not supposed to talk all day
Recess the time to yell and play
Grades were “E” and “S” and “U”
The...

Elementary School
I will miss all my friends
When school finally ends
Sitting at the lunch table
Telling lots of stories and fables

All the laughing and goofing around
You know to stop when you hear that sound
Then you hush
And start to blush

I will miss these things about Elementary school
All the times...

Fifty States United
In an healthy Zone
Everyone is different
But proud to call it home
Children are singing
As they grow
So all the world
Will hear and know
There shall always be
A sequel
For Americans

Kindergarten Teacher

Kind when she shares her bologna sandwich.

Imaginative when she has to use Q-tips to teach.

  Nurturing to teeter totter injuries.

Daring when rescuing an mystery object from the toilet.
