It's Elementary

The work I did was playing with the angels
We read and painted, dressed up for Halloween as rangers
The Universe so close from dry, paper mache
With older kids we even wrote an Etheree

The work I did was traveling to Europe
With twenty of my students and an antelope
We colored windows facing the lights of Paris
and even opened a brasserie "Gateau de Bliss"

So, Carolyn, you made me smile opening this album
When asking "Where the Wild Things Are? " Ka-boom!
Again it's "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs"
...but empty are long gone Elementary School halls...

You have captured my interest. I'd like to know more about the antelope! It sounds like an exciting trip! Good luck in the contests. (No, I haven't heard about rhythm 51 versus 67 beats.)

Interesting write about a great job...Must have taken patience, preparations, and money to take 20 students to Europe..Reads like an ideal learning situation for the teacher and the students...Sara

Came here to thank you for responding to my blog this past week. About your being 5'10" at age 12, I bet my daugher was nearly that tall at that age too. By age 15, she was almost 6 feet tall. She never really got teased for it like you did. She is a really beautiful girl, Today age 33, hard for me to believe! At age 2, she looked like age 5 and people were always giving me really rude stares for having her in diapers!! (I think I suffered more for her height than she did) haha. LUv, Andrea

"The universe so close from dry, papier mache" That's a great line. I liked the clever movie references. Children can be both Beauty and the Beast. The papier mache reminds me of the Fantastic Mr. Fox. I want your job =)
