Best Drizzled Poems
I rise and fall like melancholy tides
in ebb and flow of wistful disrepair,
our separate in consciousness divides,
the whiff of grief fills broken-hearted air.
Neglected now, heartstrings' rawhide, I mourn
with briny beads that water my dismay,
eyes teary drizzled mist, inside forlorn,
my psyche pierced by thorns in love's bouquet.
Whatever will I do, this emptiness..?
A gnawing hollow where my heart should be.
My lonely preys me like a lioness,
a simba stalks this lost love refugee.
Soft morning sun does gaze into my eyes
enlightening the depths of agonize.

Thanksgiving fast approaches
and the bustling has begun
in an enchanting house,
the House of Cinnamon.
With children home for holiday,
the voices that you hear
are sunny as the curtains hung
inside this home of cheer.
As words elatedly resound
through rooms and down the hall,
a glow of kinship grows to warm
each nook of every wall.
Two little ones on father’s knee
now listen to him read
while mother in the kitchen
mixes dough and starts to knead.
The daughters don their aprons,
glad to help their mother bake
while older sons outside leap into
heaps of leaves they rake.
And then the kitchen fills with song
as mother hums a tune.
Her daughters sing the lyrics
as the wee one licks a spoon.
Now the dough with sugar, nuts
and raisins all is rolled
and cut into as many pieces
as each pan will hold.
Inside the oven, butter-drizzled
rolls now ooze and swell,
and soon the habitat absorbs
a most delightful smell.
Outside in chill of autumn’s wind
the boys having fun
can smell sweet scent of cinnamon.
Into the house they run!
Now day has turned to evening.
From a chimney curls grey smoke
as round the hearth inside there sit
the first-arrived of kinfolk.
The children of the house are sleeping,
but when they awake,
they’ll greet the ones they’re thankful for.
Of love will all partake.
For in the House of Cinnamon
a way of life remains
untouched by what the world’s forgot.
Here harmony still reigns.

Rhyme
She wore a gingham apron,
battled dirt on hands and knees
while garments washed swayed brightly
on a clothesline in the breeze.
She sewed and worked a garden,
did the dishes all by hand;
her wiggling giggling kids
would straighten up at her command.
Her leftovers were loved as much
as was the ginger cake
she drizzled with that special sauce
she always used to make.
Today they’d call her backwards,
for no feminist was she!
But all she’d ever daydreamed of
was what she came to be.

He tried to fly
flapped his wings
High above him
a dark duvet
drizzled sadness
Only yesterday,
or was it last week
his wings and feet
carried him
little raven
didn't remember
Carry me
carry me
he squeaked
to his sorrowful parents
We have to go
they said
hipping hither
and thither
He hid his head
under his useless wings
and waited
and wailed

A Pleasurable Life
The things that bring you pleasure
May be experienced one at a time
Or they may be combined
Into one fantastic time frame
To double the pleasure
And double the sheer bliss
The decadence of eating
With the satisfaction of making love
A combination bursting with pleasure
Warm melted chocolate
To be taken in from pleasure spots
Savored while the tongue swirls the chocolate before taking it in
Giving and receiving pleasure
And tasting….richness
Whipped cream or a touch of honey
Foamed up or drizzled will heighten the pleasure
Just a bit…….not too much
Makes the sweet….sweeter
Feeding body AND soul
Double the Delight
Double the Pleasure
The love of music
Blended in with the love
Of love making
Exhileration carried on notes
Moving fast and slow
Swelling and receding
Pianissimo….to make her melt
Slow slow….
Andante...Andante
The way to go...
Then subito
A sudden change of tempo
The element of surprise
Frozando….no escape...no turning back…
Demands of surrender
Fronzando giving way to Rinforzando
Thundering….again and again
A swelling crescendo
Burst of sound and rhythm and light
Reverberations reaching the inner soul
Suspended in time
The symphony of two bodies
In the throes of surreal delight
Forte…forte…forte
An then…..
Then diminuendo….calmando
The labored breathing of love
Receding with the waves
Al niente
Al...Niente
Fading to nothing
Peace….after Pleasure
Double your pleasures
For tomorrow comes with no guarantees
That your eyes will feast
On the celestial stars
Making love to the night
To the symphony of the universe...
So while you can...
Double your Pleasure
Double your Delight
In a double dose of LIFE

In ode to all who succumb
through wayward passages
lined of scribble notes
dripping ink’s savagery,
staining cursive patterns
in Sylvia-like depressions
Jarred bells ring
down lost tunnels
around each dark corner…clang
from steeples we chase
and beds we lie
draped in sadness
and shapes of
poetic happenstance
Tear drop vinaigrette
spiced of leftover lifetimes
drizzled on leafy desperation
bids a tired farewell
before time collects
the deserved rewards

Ooey, gooey, give me choc-o-lot!
If I must, I'll take it liquid hot,
But "wicked" like they fix it in Madrid,
Thick as porridge, satin sunburnt sweet.
(Not like here: sugar, milk and cocoa, mix and heat).
Give me some hot chocolate I can eat!
Drip-drop-dripping from a spoon!
Give it - give it to me in a box.
Tantalize my lips with luscious bits,
Rum and amaretto morsels dipped.
Give me it in chips or chunks or blocks.
And please not those from K-mart or the grocer.
We connoisseurs much prefer it kosher!
Give it to me Swiss or straight from France.
Hurry while I loosen up my pants!
I'll make do with anything you have.
Drizzled over ice-cream nice and smoothy.
chocolate is the universal salve.
chilled or warm, but slathered on it soothes me.
Make my ice-cream chocolate flavored too-
peanut butter swirls with fudge will do.
Be my ever sweet-tooth choco-fairy.
Finger-feed me bonbons. I'm your baby.
Feed me plump and succulent black berry.
Give me, give me, give me what I crave,
and I shall be your love-starved-choco-slave.

When I wrote this, it just flowed to me, like chocolate water; usually I have to sit and think a bit and poetry often does not flow from me in this way!

Kahlua drizzled on top
Ice cream sliced like pie.
Dark fudge floats in the center.
Crumbled oreo crust
Floating in hot fudge.

In one graceful motion, I lift my love on high
with all my strength, suffering and sweat
until hills fall in shadow. Until my words die
upon sweetened breath, I shall never forget -
I am fated to long for our lover's duet.
How can I break away, retreat from this -
a taste of forbidden love for my soul to graze,
to want eternally? For one summer day of bliss,
glazed, green apple eyes enticed with their gaze
while berry-kissed lips set lush fields ablaze.
In one fluid motion, I poured over you,
drizzled my love like honey. An impassioned sun
burned bold at midnight until Venus flew
and beads of sweat fell from heavens undone;
until, no going back, we, two, became one.
When my arms lift you into realms higher
than I'll ever know and stars sparkle near
like beautiful, new lovers to desire,
remember my sweat and sacrifice, my dear.
I lift you with waning days of sweet youth and tears.

Quintain (English)
on that bitter, wet, dark winter’s day
the storm that hit seemed slow to pass
it turned the whites of waves to grey
then threw life's teardrops at the glass.
and from that cafe’s window seat
she watched the mist blot out the sands
and sensed the cold but felt the heat
with coffee clasped between both hands.
although the waves at staggered times
broke wilder than she'd known before
seen through the window’s drizzled lines
- stayed silent as they reached the shore.

A few hot-orange embers burn low in the fire pit.
Morning has sprung, evident only
In the vague concrete illumination
of an overcast sky.
Scattered twigs and last night's remaining logs
Are tossed upon the coals,
With a few shivering breathes of dank
October air to give life to flames.
Frost has not yet bitten the landscape;
But the huddled mass of human
leans in, over the kindled fire
For all of its warmth.
The Night's drizzled humidity hiss-boils
and streams from the wood grain of a saturated log,
As the twigs roast and burn.
The starving artist stands firm
In the path of smoke, visible clues
To the heats current passage.
One could inadvertently burn
on the simplest furnace,
Steam rising from sweatshirt and pant leg,
And the moist palm of the hand.
Love, or so it seemed to the dreamer by his fire,
Is like this. A kiss of life
Given openly to the heart's flame,
Fanning the hot embers of friendship and affection.
Once stoked, a glance of chance
Or a lover's touch
Warms the body and sacred soul
Against the icy depravity of an outside world.
And though the cold is most apparent
In the smokey moisture of one's own breath
Hanging in the still air away from the hearth,
The sweet melting passion is best experienced
and not explained or seen.
If the world were any colder
The October sky would crack and precipitate,
splintered and crystallized,
To wipe the canvas clear below
And give substance to a feeling of betrayal
That keeps the lover embracing a modest fire,
Whose warmth forsakes all else.
A dented tin coffee pot percolates
Sustenance into the day's beginning.
Outside the ring of charred-crackling logs,
The world rises up with the gyre of smoke
And is lost to the stone gray sky.
But the fire burns on,
And the hungry heart lays nourished
Within a dreamer's chest.

I remember how the rose moon drizzled gold,
when stars within your eyes danced, flickering pearls,
curating a carnival of dreams untold~
while heavy skies unveiled tuscan truth, that twirls.
But am I to swim through syllables of grief,
for innocence was snatched by a soulless thief,
stealing soft colors of sunsets with thick sins,
as violin stringed heart sings on sharpened pins.

Exhaled sonnets call torrid on the eve
Breaths a lofty soar, luring thirsted sighs
Moistened drizzled flesh, sunset’s searing weave
Motions play beneath tropic amber skies
Lips of dampened dreams, meeting by the shore
Moonbeams touch your face, eyes of heaven’s glow
Whispers echo soft, melting ever pure
Fingers tracing curves, passions endless flow
Lulled as blushing waves drench our longing skin
Stardust wishes cast, lingering above
Promised minutes sing, harmonies begin
As we lie alone, deep within our love
Moans collect the wind, endings come to meet
Lost within the tide, summer’s sultry heat
