Premium Member You Might As Well Smile

but i wouldn’t fault you words spilling from a loose connection
i forgive the negative
they are tied to your artistic temperament

your heart
translucent
exposes wires tattered and frayed
a myriad of internal cuts and bruises

i can hold such damage
with barely a touch
soothe the gnawing of varmints uninvited

draw out a collage of smiles
patiently waiting to adorn
the you i see

i can draw your laughter
deep and resounding

i can love you unconditionally
for better or for worse

be that handy little light
one carries to duel the dark

Premium Member Loosening the Air Bag

Slipping into my silver-gray SUV
Nicknamed " Sly Buster Cruiser”
I speed off down the rocky, off-highway road.
Twisting and reeling like my wired mind,
windows down, sunroof open,
(Annie Lennox groveling on the CD player),
reckless noon rays on my chin,
wind on ticklish, naked nape ...
Damn, who cares? I am 19 again?

Shuffling into the 7-Eleven Store
beside the Shell gas station
(With a free wind shield clean-up),
I draw out some bucks for a Philip Morris pack
and a two bottles of beer, plus a Dorito
( the barbecue flavor , please)…
Ain’t a drinker; a smoker on occasion,
but I feel like being reckless and
slightly rebellious ;
I lock the door prepping up for an untamed ride.

Grabbing a spray of cologne mist
and red-violet lipstick from the tote,
my irises roll from the lane to the side mirror,
as I slowly dunk the beer, icy and bubbly
zooming away with hands laughing on the wheels.

Nobody knows me in this place; my ribs shout silently:
This is just all for me; just now, I’ll be.
This is just between me and the edge of a free road.
This is about my navel breathing fire and ice,
It’s about touching danger fast without reason or fuzz
Because later, all this smooth craziness will soon pass.

Back to the same home trail, I rip the cigarette sticks,
slide the unused bottle in my bag
before wiping the red on lips with the Dorito foil…

“ Mommy, Mommy… where have you been?”
I smile as if my skin had chased a tornado…
Dumping the beer on the back porch,
My hand is cleansed by some kind of holy water,
And I start to hug my mischievous girl...
Then off I start to roll the plates on the sinking sink.

Can your colours for the year:)
Swirl undulations in; concentric."
Vanilla shaded ridges coalesce...
Swells in the pail; then disappear.

A circle of steel they put it in."
Yet with a flat ended tool,
pop open that tin..!
Draw out with a'plomb
The liquid white;
 to brighten the hall,

The spirit is of colour clear,
When blackness hovers.
Call him near, applied with the soul
Aligned with Love; paint life
With the gifts from God above.."

Premium Member Prayers Soft, Dim and Whispered

 ~~

Oh sweet the forest path where I always meet tranquility,
Thoughts of peace that mingle with the sky above me;
A king has created a forest circle, a ring so calm,
An earthly realm, so heavenly and full of divinity and sanctity.

I draw out my muse and ponder in awe my life,
A princess born my parents tell me, now ageless is my spirit;
Roses red stab my fingers and I have bled into the earth,
And we the children of the world are free to find a path.

With him, the king and with prayers, soft, dim and whispered.

Essence of Being

My toes squirm
like fat little worms
through this moist soil
they let go of their convolution;
disconnect from the brain that tells them
each day
what they are
and are not.
Here they are just so.

My hands grab
like the beaks of birds
these golden blades of grass
let go of the rocks they carry;
wipe clean the slate of crumbs they leave
each day
their way home
to evidence –
now left just so.

My lungs burn with life
a crisp morning air
razors through them
ecstatically.

My eyes caress such
fine tendrils of light
called dusk and dawn and
mystery.

My ears collect an orchestra
of locust song and wood
bursting forth in a crackling
warmth.

My mouth kisses a
saturated breeze impregnated
with ocean and pine and flirtatious
berries.

Their juices stain my chin.
These feelings stain my skin.
And draw out pricks
from parched follicles
with neural fingers
that trail over
and into
and through
my being

“this is it”

My breath whispers carelessly
in an ice-shackled cloud
that veils my face
with its truth.
A maternal gesture
of nature
towards itself.
For it is I
and I surrender
to this sensory onslaught.

“this is it”

Being alive is a wondrous
wondrous
thing.

Premium Member Just Breathe

Listen to the still, small voice
As silence drifts around your thoughts
Caressing, accepting, delighting
In the hope, faith and love
Found within the sincerity of a soul

In the breath of one short moment
Much joy can be discovered
Embracing the heart with gentle warmth
Brightening the promise of dreams
Who abound in this flash of wonder

Hearken to the inspirational message
Steeped in the brew of assurance
With heartwarming prayers sent to Him
Who is alive and dwelling in heaven
Awaiting our heart’s best supplication

Enjoy, enlighten, enliven… embrace
All the inspirations found in true praise
Of the creator who brings wisdom and grace
On music flowing with lights that hesitate
To give off a amber glow of rejoicing

In the breath of one short moment
Discover the spiritual wisdom and insight
Into the life who knows only to believe
On the God who is the creator of Love
And inspires us all to give back from our faith

Murmur over a feeling, an emotion, an idea
Imagine the truth lies buried in the spirit
Discover the peace that sometimes hides away
Beneath colors of darkness, melancholy and brooding
All the little views of a heart caught up in living

Within a silent moment of expectation
Draw out the calm, the serenity, the affection
Smile at the kindness of God’s mystery
And feel the laughter that consoles and directs
The heart toward a place of mindfulness

Premium Member Leverage

It's easy to set the goal, and even put the process in motion, but continuing to push forward through struggles and frustration can require a shove to help draw out that emotional leverage. ~ Leigh Wilson

Emotional happiness is a goal everyone would like to reach
but attaining that destination is not something anyone can teach.
The use of leverage is a viable solution to ignite the flames of fire,
ones to use as sparks to light the way to have the life we desire
There are several emotional concepts that I label after reflection
that can motivate us and others to live life without objection

Pride is usually thought of as a trait for which we shouldn't strive
but it can also prove to be a useful tool that can keep hope alive
for it can take a look at goals that were achieved or things done right.
A point worth making; it opens a window giving slivers of foresight

Joy is an emotion everyone feels when a goal is accomplished
Any lever can be used to amplify an advantage that can be wished
Something as simple as talking with others can make joy a reality
It's a resource to change a behavior or attitude; not a hyperbole

Hope allows us to have expectations of a life that we find fulfilling
But life often pushes back with frustrations that could use distilling
That's when we pivot, as a lever to make struggles less intimidating
By facing problems head on, seeking solutions, instead of placating

The fear factor dwells inside everyone when feeling uncertainty
or an immediate threat, but it can be levered with a bit of diversity,
a change in some areas of our lives where we experience less stress
The more advantages we can obtain, we'll feel threats much less

Anger is perhaps the biggest obstacle to having emotional well-being
but used as a leverage, it can be used as a key that allows the freeing
from threats that we experience, disrupting our sense of independency,
enabling us to feel self-compassion and toward others with clemency

Then there is the prospect of shame, used to encourage and persuade
ourselves and others to avoid an action or a decision, wrongly made
when we, or others might find out about a socially undesirable action.
Leveraging devices give gentle shoves that lead to emotional satisfaction.

Live2learn Learn2live

We live to learn, We learn to live,
it's not what we take, it's from the heart we give.
It's not about getting what we want, but in having what we need,
to grow a garden, you must first plant the seed.
You only draw out, whatever you put in you see,
help those who are around you, and be all you can be.
When we live 2 learn, in each passing day,
we learn to live in a totally different way.
Life is more than just living you see,
it's about being all that we can be.
Let's be life, as we learn to live,
our word's are the seed's, our fruit's in which we give.
By the fruit of our tree, we feed life or death,
live to learn, and learn to live with each passing breath.
Helping those in need, with a humble heart, you see,
living to learn, and learning to live so free!

In peace of mind and unwavering pride
Draw out your inner disgruntled callow
Expunge ailing masks and set them aside
Shackled and phony leaches start shallow

Untamed freedom leaves a rage of delight
Lightning strikes when volition avails reign
As the noise of fists and yells echoes fight
It implies launching rough assaults again

This momentary gladness won't last long
Dark distress derides its way to the fight
And celebrates its mocking with zest strong
Frenzied fractured fragments into full-sight

Constraintis like an itch that chafes the mind
Shields the vile impulse that we must all bind

gladness won't last long
expunge ailing masks aside~
untamed freedom roars.

Shackled leeches start shallow, rage of lightning strikes~constraint chafes the mind

The Value of Time

Imagine there is a bank that credits
Your account each morning with $86,400.00
It cares over no balance from day to day
Every evening it deletes whatever part
Of the balance you failed to use during the day
What would you do?
Draw out every cent, of course!
Each of us has such a bank
It's name is TIME
Every morning it credits you
With 86,400 seconds
Every night it writes off,
As lost, whatever of this
You have failed to invest to good purposes.
It carries over no balance
It allows no overdrafts
Each day it opens a new account for you
At night it burns the remains of the day
If you fail to use the day's deposits,
All that is lost is yours.
There is no going back
Plus there is no drawing against "tomorrow".
You must live in the present
On today's deposits
Invest it so as to get from it
The utmost health, happiness, and success!
The clock is running
Make the most of today
To realize the vaule of One Year
Ask a student who failed a grade
To realize the vaule of One Month
Ask a mother who gave birth
To a pre-mature baby
To realize the vaule of One Week
Ask the editor of a weekly newspaper
To realize the vaule of One Day
Ask a daily wage laborer
With kids to feed.
To realize the vaule of One Hour
Ask the lovers who are waiting to meet
To realize the vaule of One Minute
Ask a person who missed the train
To realize the vaule of One Second
Ask a person who just avoided an accident
To relaize the vaule of One Millisecond
Ask the person who won
A sliver medal in the Olympics
Treasure every moment that you have
And treasure it more
Because you was able to share it
With someone special
Special enough to spend your time.
And remember that time waits for no one
Yesterday is history
Tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a gift
That's why it is called the present!

Premium Member Choices of Dark and Light

The dark came upon us, and all we did shutter.
The light came upon us, and we basked in its’ glow.
We lite a light to keep it close, and remember the love it did throw.
When we traveled thru life’s valleys we held the light high.
When we reached the high mountains we forgot with a sigh.
But we carried it deep inside, to draw out if we were at risk.

The darkness befell others and off we did go.
To share our gift readily with others you know.
To pass the light gently was always our aim.
To love the world greatly, the world’s sadness to tame.
If the gift was not accepted, it was with deep sorrow and regret.
For the world needs the light to find it’s way you can bet.

We are the candles and God is the light…
Disasters are darkness that we try to set right.
As Jesus remembers, so also must we.
For we conquer mountains with love, you do see.
And always there are others in need, like you and like me.

So harken to words both brave and yet true…
Help others around you, tho troubles do brew.
For the light is a blessing, and troubles not new.
They’re something we have just like others, it’s true.
With patience and work belief can begin.
Then a light will start shining all over again.

Peace and good will are the ribbons that hold us all tight.
Disasters and wars are the clouds that threaten the light.
But if together we stand forever you see.
A small glimpse of heaven forever will be.

The Angel of Death and the Joshua Tree

Written January 1, 2014

I'm just passing through
This tumbleweed town
Wondering why anyone would
Bother to stay around
When the truths that are spoken
By our mothers and fathers
Are lies told to quiet our fears
To quench the thirst
Of a man counting his years

So today is the day
When I'll be laid to waste
Buried beneath this cold dry sand
Where my father once made me the man that I am
So go tell the angel of death
He can have all that's left
I've nothing to fear in this world
Tell my wife and my child
Not to go and get riled
Up over an old useless man
With a feather in my cap and a gun in my hand
Whistling tunes of my favorite band

Now it's just me and Death
Whispering under our breaths
Shouting high to the mountains
And cursing regrets
Who will be the first
One to draw out his gun
But no matter the end that we meet
One's labeled a coward
And the other is knocked off his feet

It looks as if death has triumphed in jest
Believers and sinners have come to pay their respects
So Death please just leave them be
Crying beneath this Joshua tree

Premium Member How To Write a Poem

Writing poem all begins
Observing world around
Poem can be anything
As long as you enjoy it

Be a reader
Read poems aloud
Poetry is meant to be read aloud
Use your senses

mouth
Ears
As well as brains
To process words of a poem

Using senses make poetry meaningful
Jot down words or phrases you read
Which are appealing, puzzling
Unique or powerful

Use fresh imagery
Showing reader something in a way
He or she
Has not considered before

Use nouns and verbs than adjectives
Ensure every word has a purpose
Tell not the reader how to feel
Let the words draw out

Emotions directly
Without explaining
Use dramatic
Emotional words

Is a Million Dollars Enough To Retire On

Is a Million Dollars Enough to Retire on?

By Elton Camp

We once thought that one who is a millionaire
Is a person who will never have financial care
But let’s say that you are getting ready to retire
Will this be enough to live on until you expire?

Assume that you draw out four percent per year
That’s a responsible figure is what we now hear
That would provide $40,000 to meet your need
A reasonable sum if house is free and no greed

No need to worry about retirement any more?
Doesn’t sound as bad as what I’ve heard before
But one really major problem does still remain
Just exactly how will that million you obtain?

Suppose that you work from twenty to sixty-five
To gain $22,000 average a year you must strive
Not all of this would you be compelled to save
You can include what return on investment gave

I have to wonder just where safe investment went
Certificates of deposit now pay about half a percent
On more risky type investments do you dare depend?
Loss of your funds will bring retirement to an end

Compare what your saving and investments are now
Is that likely to come to greatly increase somehow?
Could you right now save $22,000 by a year’s end
Even if, on doing so, your very life did depend?

So whether a million saved is enough, you see
Actually has very little relevance to most like me
So without a pension, can you now see just why
Some say they must continue to work till they die?

Love I

Justifying hateful thoughts, letting others sink their talk
Useless looking in the mirror, when the reflection won't come nearer
Sitting on so many cries; i'm so fat, i'm so ugly, how is it that a person will want me?
Tilting opinion to a right; not everyone can please your sight

Let me in, let me out, show me confidence, push out doubt
Over repeat to yourself: How can one love you if you don't love yourself?
View out the media and suck in your power; If you know it you'll walk like a tower
Erase self agression and draw out strength; no one hurts more than yourself

Make it with in your heart and you will flow out through your mind
Easy loving, time is humming, go and grow your pride!
