The September I met him remains etched in my mind
One by one the minutes rolling by ever so slowly
I sat in class awaiting an explanation that never came

I surmised he’d been a burn victim ~ suffered and healed
How could he now sit there so serene and nonchalant

Over my inner spiel I hadn’t heard a word he said
So consumed was I in wait with my unanswered questions
Then spending the second half of class feeling stupid
Regretting the meddlesome monologue in my head
It was three hours of my life I would never get back
Really ~ how was it any of my business?

This was all way back in those pre-internet days
Before google searches easily unraveled any mystery

For weeks he never spoke about the elephant in the room
It boggled my mind why I expected he ever would

In a short time I became enchanted with this man’s soul
Respectfully in awe of this cultured learned gentle man
A poet possibly a genius ~ he was ordained to touch lives
To shake and rattle foundations ~ disentangle paradigms

A transcendent grace exuded from his every word and glance

Hush

Hush

Hush now my lover
Come rest your head upon my shoulder
Let my arms league bring you closer

Quiet now my love
Or your tears will shred to my ruination
All the courage that I have

Let this soft caress to yours encompass
And do not hold upon the burning cup
It is so, how my lips are scorched

Come my love, disentangle your heart from this apart
Rest your weary self here
Lest this choke in my throat blister so
When I speak your name

It is for I; all the lovers under this sun
I see them of smiles and arm in arm
Rip my foot soles to desolation
I have no path to follow

Do not take on so, my lover
For if it must be, I will covet the lost
Of funeral marches

As for you, so I, for me, am not
In these seconds resplendent
In these minutes redundant
I to, hold upon the burning cup

To reek some revenge on your loneliness
I call God a fool !
And stand in defiant
Belligerent; should such love be squandered and sent to hell
I would stand, still
And call your name to the closing heavens
Tortured with some mercies over spill
And stab my accusation to the hearts of angels

Hush my lover, I beg
Your sobbing racks into every ounce of strength I have
And with gritted teeth inside my eyes
I can but cling to hope
And slowly die
With this forlorn and empty life

Please my love, should I fall amidst the briars
And my heart dig upon the shovels of graveyards
Spit rumored on tomb stones
And call all those other lovers liars

Come now, my bride, rest here
Follow me to these palatial dreams
Let us forget lifetime living
Let us forge inside an anvils breathing all that we desire

Hold fast to me my lover
Submit, rest, resplendent for our bravery
To look beyond hope and see beyond dreams
To the place where we were meant to be

Hush now my lover
Come rest your head upon my shoulder
Let my arms league bring you closer

Your Touch

YOUR TOUCH

is a gift swelled inside my nape-
wrapped up in words of
love that suffice my desire
for you ignite my body’s fire

i tie myself snug with ruby red ribbons,
gentle whispers enveloped inside-
make sure the silver bow is in its
place so you may open with blown
kisses and perpetual promises

you open me up-
soft lace overlaying barren skin;
i disentangle and fall into your arms,
you kiss me like the first and we melt
into the abyss of marriage bliss;
my love, it’s always been…

YOUR TOUCH

Love Redefined and Refined

So deep a love to feel
Your muse Cupid would wonder
When the golden chance you couldn’t steal
Preferring instead to explore gambits like a gander

Pushing a prevarication scheme without a clear
Strategy as to where you felt your breakthrough
Would emerge from, dear
Although to your credit you remained true

Supposing luck once again to your side
Would come swinging the pendulum
In your favour as aside you pushed your pride
To beat the drum

Whose rhythm like a wedding bell
Stimulated heartbeats into faster pulses
Denoting chances to lift the veil
On your romance for impulses

To hasten the tempo of the tango
For both your heart and hers to dance
To disentangle
Knots and spots of bother to advance

The agenda to win the love
For which all along you long
To hold, hold, hold on wings of the white dove
That your resolve makes strong

As seconds tick
You break the ice
Knees growing weak
Lips trembling once, twice, thrice

You squeeze Betty into your arms
Bodies entwined
No more romance doldrums
Love in the end redefined and refined.

Wake up and realize
That you are too hard on yourself
Do you know how many people
make mistakes every day?
Do you know that they don’t cart
That burdens with them all their lives?

You are permitted to choose wrong
You are permitted to try again
You were never shaped to be perfect
If we knew all the conundrums before we came across them
How would we be able to grow and learn?

You are on a different path
Don’t compare your footsteps
With those who went before you
Or even those walking next to you
They have their own issues
Our paths might be connected at times
But no one’s journey is ever the same

Why not forgive yourself for the faults of yesteryear

You are the only one who are keeping track
Of things that cannot be undone

The Life and Times of Edward Kamanzola

So Edward Kamanzola was born on the Christmas Day
The year 1943 and this was declared a rare luck;
And fortune was expected to trail his life all the way
To his doubtless toothless longevity of an octogenarian.
And true luck was his mate throughout
For his success no one could doubt.

He joined school at an unusual young age
Where his class he topped to the final year,
Outshining his peers at every examinable stage
Till he moved to the best secondary school in Kenya.
Alliance High School was not every Tom’s cup of tea
But it was to Kamanzola as cheap as a grain of pea.

As you had guessed, our genius went to the University of Nairobi
Where a degree in heart surgery he pursued to the end;
And rewarding our academic stalwart who opposed all anomie,
He became a government adviser on aristocratic cardiovascular details
Whereof he for long helped disentangle top thorny assassination tales.

He feared the honking of motor vehicles,
And loathed the beggary of the hordes on the streets;
So he locked himself in his office with other learned Michaels
Till he came down with a woeful heart attack,
A disease that ended the 60-year trail of luck.

Premium Member Judge and Jury

life has somewhat
calmed down now that
I’ve bowed out from the rat race
and officially finally retired

I’ve learned to disentangle myself
from the merciless mundane madness
I don’t miss that old hamster wheel
always spinning out of control

I’m now at peace with myself
I’ve become my own jury and judge
questioning my every choice and decision
to ensure they fall in place with my master plan

the voice of my conscience keeps me
aligned and on track as time trickles away
ultimately I know I’m not really in charge
but I can at least be master of what I can

one day I know I’ll be facing my Maker
and there will be no sanctioned excuses
down to my very core I’ll want to be proud
of what I’ve done and become

Just Be

Society, community, society, community.
You can leave now and let me be.
I will swim free, free in your sea.
Your sea? your sea, polluted now, Oh you will never see.
Broken hearts, bodies too, beloved inner child, I love you.
Purity.
Alone.
Breathe, breathe, breathe.
Simplicity, simplicity, simplicity.
I know now that this is all I need.
To be. To be. That is all, just Be.
Burn your toys, television too, kill the car, the radio.....
MOooooooo.
Unleash, unravel, these boys, disentangle, unblock, reset there mind, please sir,
could you be so kind?
Simplicity, Simplicity, simplicity.
Eye's clenched shut.
Now I know, Alone in my hut, not long to go, you will be free.
Free. free. free.
Buy the car, buy the house, buy the cow, consume, consume, but how?
Now!
Now, now, you tell me are you happy? for ever and art thou.
Ah ha, you see, you see.
Simplicity, simplicity, simplicity.
That is all I need, I choose now, my self is free?
Yes, yes, yes sir, me?
Free to sit, sit and just be.
Me? Free? free to swim in this endless blue sea?
I will just sit, sit right here, against this healing earth, oh so very near.
My mind is liquid, free to birth.
Just be. Just Be. Just Be.
Simplicity, simplicity, simplicity.

A Swarm of Turtle Clouds

A boggy wheat? Smell of the feet. And a festival fist of a differential calculus of praenomen poppies. Swaying in a misted setting. One should plant trees in an arc. And Aechyryptipical is very renounced for being a boating lake. Eyes open then eyes shut. Eyes travelling then eyes resting. Training train traverses trailing traffic territoriality so deeply into a glamorous bowl then. Hahahaha weeding a cake. Hahahaha number of concrete consciousness's in a beat. Lalakala and a prick of a beetle nest. Malakanagiri making a curry and a furry coat watches a clock. Cluck cluck cluck. Carnage in a weaponry cross pleases platforms but spits on crocodile crowds. Imperialism *** dot co dot doesn't disentangle disease. Hop hoops hop hop hop and a big snout in a very vertical tree. Xxxx z.

Peace of Mind

peace of mind

peace of the peaces
i was looking for
i got named after that
my whole life got bore

now and then a question of reality
answers for thee self loosen ability
dark matters i chase i was with in
for the name tags of rent world pin

here and there, for all the Welfare
questing the mind if its all fair
in a world of if's hunting the barrier
every time i fall on my knees i look the upper

bigger than me, biggest of all
tomorrow in my head running for call
cut out the gut avoiding my fear
haunting dreams Disentangle them clear

here i sing the peace, collecting the pieces
artifact of them, my inner pleases
i draw pictures that made a man
dissing my desire for a longer run

peace for me, peace for you
lets hold all the pieces to hold on for clue.
on your way out shine no more feeling blue.

Would have produced a newspaper article
Instantly unravelling the mystery

Ichor

They flow,
Insipid and slow,
Like infinite moments
of wistful longing.
Like clasped fingers
that disentangle
at Bon-voyage.
Like old sand-glass
That fails to catch
irrevocable times.
They merge
Once in a while,
In a moment of
epiphany, as two
droplets fall for
each other,
perchance.
They reflect a
blameless, radical
glow of white,
as they slowly hide
a blurred, blurred world,
Beyond the veil of
untold gray.
Beyond an unmade dream
That grows steadily
In an intrepid exuberance.
That slows the inane life
You live,
For long-stretching moments
As you skip
a heart-beat or two.
And you forget
what happens to the
rained city-night that
remains behind a
mellow curtain of
nameless grace.

Until Locked Away

She wakes each morning with one obsessed thought
repeating over and again in her weak, tortured mind
Those who don’t believe her *must* be found and fought
because her truth surely had been bestowed - Godly divined

It simply cannot be that her fragile psyche snapped long ago
as the “voice” of “God” speaks to her in sudden winds blowing
And that white, shrill noise that drills constantly upon her ego
could never be the signs of sanity wounded and slowly dying

To make up for the lack of friendship and loving camaraderie
she turns and twists simple gestures of those who show interest
into fawning compliments and proclamations of love of her glory
while her victims attempt to disentangle themselves in earnest

Beware to all who are unfortunate enough to cross her misguided path
She’ll hound you, haunt you, dream of and envision you, harass and stalk
Once you’ve spurned her, she’ll come after with her “divine” wrath
The only thing that will stop her is a white room - complete with padlock

(A poem about a very sad woman who spends her life stalking strangers online. She has a few loved ones around her that simply refuse to see the danger she presents to herself.)

This Irony As You

Living within a matrix society where one percent of it's children gather..
Ninety plus perhaps, of this lands wealth ? Again, the paradox fiery trials
Attached unto a heart their faith; believing as knowing that there are reasons
These seasons and for all things aneath while about the sun ? Be they wise
Words engaging secular skies; mingling amid tomorrow's temporal tides....
The mantra in a baby's tears lynching dreams; hollow, plastered upon your walls ?
How shall we turn then to escape rise above disentangle ourselves from such
Blood soaked hands this, mere man ? Turning daughters unto whores sons
Into bastards while gazing through these tinted highrise windows the establishment
Surely of your shame ? Fanning winds in oppression pinning voodoo dolls to your lapels.

Just Smile

Just Smile
Written by D.W.Breidenthal

Just smile
For a while...you have a # to dial
I'll clear out your pile...I'll fly with you above the cemented tile
Unto the bright blue sky...

Everything's gonna be just fine
You have a special place in this heart of mine
Just smile
Just keeping trying x3
With all your remaining might
I'll help you discover God's light
In no time, we'll get through the callous night
Just smile
Everything's gonna be alright
Just smile
Paste a smile on your once frowning face
And have a positive, healthy mindset, oh buddy
Just smile,
No need for weeping...
no more sorrow...wait for tomorrow
And we'll receive perpetual delight
In no time, we'll get through the callous night
Just smile one more time (last time)
It's not crime
To smile just this time
Just smile once more
Before you shut the front door
Just smile
Embrace a positive mindset
Just smile
And I'll get you out of the net
And pay up all your debt

Just smile once more
There's more hope in store, I'm pretty sure...I'm absolutely sure...I'm positively sure of it...

in no time, we'll be set free from captivity
My feet are soaking wet
But they'll dry out I bet
So don't be upset
Just smile
And forget the regret
Of rising debt

Just smile
And I'll disentangle you out of the lament net
And pay up all your debt
