Best Deuces Poems
Hearts hurting, whatever this is ain’t working,
your pride’s always gunna come first and
looks like I'm finally learning
Never once crossing your mind,
my feelings hurting double time,
you forget I can make plenty of others mine,
too bad now you gotta wait in line
Always tellin myself I don’t deserve this,
if you want me now you gotta earn it,
no more pretending together we can fit,
I’m done trying to deal with this
Don’t play dumb, you know you were wrong,
acting like nothing was goin on,
I’ve held onto this anger far too long.
Now Ima throw the deuces, I’m gone.
if i die tonight
tomorrow is no lie
wake up in the morning
go about your life
if i die tonight
remember me inside
all the good times
i wasn't always right
if i die tonight
because i wasn't liked
forgive all my homies
coming for you life
they know if it was them
tonight i will go ride
if i die tonight
mamas gone cry
i didn't leave a son behind
to brighten up her life
if i die tonight
my girls moving forward
turn that ass over
shes going to see my face
wasn't ever sober
i couldn't feel my face
i don't like you mondays
deuces now I'm tuesday
on my grind like hump days till the day i die
wonder why I'm rappin bout the day i die
cuz when that day comes
its a rap
back then wasn't always good
now a days aren't as they should
i don't know about u but god is good
if i die tonight forgive for what i did
damn this life of sin
didn't trip let me rip
wrist watch absent
captivate like traffic
don't wonder why was i an addict
trust me i don't wan a die
i see myself in action influenced many lives
righteous why **** had to down like this
woulndt go back track
just play it back
idk wasn't ever the type to follow
pray to see tomorrow
broken promises i know
truth is hard to swallow
if heaven had a gecho
id let go of the steering wheel
call it suicidal
I'm alright tho
I'm in this like 5 4 3 2

thanks for listening
Cold rains, wet and weary... seeping through the sky,
spectres pass ’long side me... bent, with collars high,
my visions are invisible and no one sees me cry.
Minstrels of destruction... rapping at my door,
naked anvils aching... heavy hammers roar,
their monodies of emptiness pulse, bleeding through the floor.
House of cards collapsing... sagging walls of wax,
deuces in dissension... aces slip through cracks,
the Joker’s lost and lumbers by, alone, along the tracks.
Steeple steps dismantled... muted bells below,
ruins quake and tremble... frozen in the snow,
their pains implode within my brain while pale winds cruelly blow.
Prophets tumble temples... residues of tea
highways of no entrance... paths of destiny,
where phantoms haunt my nightmare dreams, tell tales of roaming free.
Foghorns moaning lonely... waves awash in sound
silver schooner sinking... swirling round and round,
at midnight’s stroke, the mainsail broke, and driftwood drifts aground.
Silent seas misshapen... moonbeams painted rum,
teaspoons sifting ashes... fingers cold and numb,
an incandescent candlestick’s impaled the sinking sun.
Smothered fires smoking... oceans filled with ice,
lightning lashing windows... blades from paradise,
like tongues of limpid laughter licking wounds of sacrifice.
Flowing fields of flowers... silent harmony,
rolling river reveries... washing to the sea,
my love, she was my daylight bliss, she once belonged to me.
When I said it was over
You said hurtful things
You called me out my name
You said you had no feelings for me anyway
And yet you were right there texting me all day, everyday
You probably just said those things to cover up the pain
I tried to let you go easily…but before you left my life you just
Had to make a scene.
You tried your best to make me break down and cry
But while you were going off I was on the other end laughing
the whole time.
You’re probably at home talking negatively a whole lot about me
While I am out having fun at the movies.
If you meant what you said about you never caring.
Then I guess we’re even.
Even though you made me mad,
I hope you have a nice life, there’s no need to reminisce.
Because the past is the past…
And I ‘am moving on chucking up the deuces.
I just hope you keep my name out your mouth, no excuses…
A FEW TANKA
as a child
vampire movies scared me
now i don’t scare easily
but irate drivers
a whole different story
from his smoking gun
all the players took cover
when quick draw ike went
plum crazy
over losing to a pair of deuces
this beautiful garden
with plaster statues
in its midst
always strikes me to the quick
white death overlooking loveliness
my little journey
up a garden’s sandy path
flowers surrounding
and accompanied by happiness
a noisy bird bath
Dave Austin
Sandpaper hearts
take away the roads
dig a hole
fill your moat
lifeless
gold.
Smooth texture from life
bleach the silver from crosshair
eyes, the color of blanks.
A string of blue pearls
marching along the plywood vein.
Tapping at this tired thing.
tap-tap...tap-tap.
Produce or starve, says some ancient law.
No time to act tired or stall.
Keep the aces, toss the deuces away.
Another day-another race
Don't ever make the same mistake.
Look up in the sky now tell me what do you see
people tell me I need to go down on my knees and say something to, but everytime I call
on you I always get a beep... I am starting to feel like there is nobody home up there, if
so why am I laying my head down in places where it is illegal for me to sleep?
my mind is full of troubles and in my time of need all I keep running into is struggles...
they say being gay is a demon and if it bothers you why didnt you think about all of this
when you found out he loaded you up with his semen?...
I wasnt asked to be in this world just like you didnt expect to be beaten, but damn I am one
of your kids too so why am I so mistreated?...
they also say what goes around comes around..... now you really got me thinking back to
all those nights when I wasnt eating... (it wasnt by choice but by force)
but that didnt stop you cause you would still be home whipping up a main course...
you waited 22 years to finally get a divorce because you thought your man was gonna
wife you up, until he figured out your ways and threw up them deuces to you, but luckily
for you, you still living in high class, but what are you gonna do when that child support
stop coming to you?
Your fascinating disposition,
My narcotic fixation.
You’re a mystical enigma,
A kryptonic ataxia.
My peculiar constitution,
A mercurial condemnation..
French Fry Etiquette
She left me sitting alone in McDonalds
Didn't take a bite of her Big Mac
Or touch a single one of her French Fries
She grabbed her Coke then walked away
And never even looked back
I thought about eating the fries
Although I had lost my appetite
It wasn't because I was hurt by the drama
She spreads ketchup on top of all of them
Instead of dipping each fry
I'm sure you know
the type
When it comes to eating French fries
Her method doesn't follow proper etiquette
Even though it bothered me I never said a word
Because she gets pissed off so quickly
And becomes
belligerent
I didn't understand what just happened
It left me totally confused
Why did she Super Size her order
If she wasn't going to eat the food
We had a date to go for dinner
I couldn't figure out why she got upset
I told her she looked gorgeous
But maybe a little overdressed
She looked surprised when we arrived
And said McDonalds you've got to be kidding
How insensitive of me to take her to McDonalds for dinner
Knowing her favorite hamburger joint is Burger King

Televisions getting muted
Signals getting lost or boosted
Meanwhile people hooted
Brooded and continually feuded
Was not one to make my drinks diluted
Made me snooze quick or feel rebooted
Having solutions
Handling problems without saying "Houston"
Already proven
Am only human
Not trying to jeopardize the world, because I don't want to see it ruined
Those that were undisputed
At one point or another, got uprooted
Who are you trying to kid
Hating is all that you did
Making sure, I soon win
And that I doom him(them)
Somewhat reclusive
Yet elusive
Not one to make excuses
Or rely on ruses
If you want to be intrusive
Then in the end, the evidence will be inconclusive
Went with and against the blueprints
How I meant to do it
Am one of the truest
With my music
Some folks scrooges
And others stooges
Grandma wore occasional brooches
Mom said boy stop being foolish
And so stupid
Took some cruises
Throwing up Deuces
"Hit me!" it's blackjack all day long
In a dingy zoo type sing-a-long
and since you can never eat just one
It seems those chips have all but gone!
Bluffing there like a daft giraffe
Just because you stuck your neck out
Still showed your true spots, no doubt
So switch it up to Texas holdem
get the laundry done and fold em'!
Or all in now and say you told em'
If you win don't brag too hard
Don't shove it in their face card
Or from this game you might be barred
And then I guess all you can do
Is sing in your cage until game two
In your pen or where chips are piled
I'd say in both cases, deuces are wild...
Sweat sticky between
eyebrows, deuces
wild
Like his eyes, those
lonesome dove eyes
Prairie eyes, ice
cool despite the
rising heat
Choking heat,
boiling on a frying
pan
Round and round
those tables, red
and black
Elbows and anger,
shiny greasy metal,
Gin bellows and city
screams
Down home blood
lust, home cooked
greed
Stuffing that money
into his collar
With two black eyes
and a smile
She said
he's a rambler,
pulling the curtain
back
Like a storm
blowing this way and
that
Mary watched
him walk
away,
Her heart
tucked into the
pocket of his white
shirt
That gleam
in his eye, mama
says,
That like a
snake,
sidewinder,
Bound snatch
a man's wallet and
warm a girl's
blood
Though, she
smiled, old and sad,
He gotta debt to
pay
So you stay
clear of the
streets, stay
clear
Of that
trick fool
Copper
shined up like
gold
*
Mr. ramble
man,
Shot down
today,
They buried
him with a blood
bouquet
*
The cold
wind blew out of
Rotgut
town,
But won't
be long, they
say,
before
another diamond
eyed, lonely
soul
Will come
put his chips on the
table
His jewel of chocolate delights
In dreams of love dare we behold,
That brings to continental nights
Such luxury enriched with gold.
In deuces rather than an ace
The Monte Carlo cards may fold
His gem will bring a smiling face
Such luxury enriched with gold
Of biking’s tragic final trip
The tears of loss the papers told
His love remains at fingertip
Such luxury enriched with gold
His jewel of chocolate delights
Such luxury enriched with gold.
Another year has turned,
And the future is now a concern,
Both of you
Are travelling through,
Year number twenty-two
With no regret I shall bet
That it will not be something to forget
Success is in your minds,
And that should be not denied,
Let the deuces be wild,
As you endure life’s next mile
Please take this simple birthday wish
And go out and catch that goal which you fish,
It will not be a miracle if the net is filled,
Since the college expenses still must be billed.
Born stressed here,
Peer pressure, pain, and no rest till next year,
Blowing the smoke in my lungs that my chest fear,
It's a mind thing; the pleasure is a treasure for the brain,
Followers mouth left dryer than the dessert after puffing the toxic fame,
Let me pronounce this man,
I think he need counseling; probably by next week he'll smoke a ounce again,
Living the street life,
Higher than the street lights,
Wondering, "what would a life without pain be like",
Using struggles for excuses; giving the body bruises until it's useless,
Some of the smoke that exist kill; some of the smoke that exist heals cancer,
Tell me what the truth is, he said, "I'll trade you pain for smoke", "I said deuces"!
