Test me
I am willing
To fail

Failure
Is not fatal
At all

All things
Are born to be
Broken

Break free
From the outer
Hard shell

Shells can
Hide the beauty
Within

With love
Flowing freely
We glow

Glowing
For all the world
To see

Seeing
All the beauty
They smile

Smiling
Brings them pleasure
As well

Welling
Up from their soul
A gift

Gifted
To all who are
Shattered

I decided to call this a "Mussetle Train" try one out it is fun.
2 4 2 non rhyming take a word from the end of each stanza(car)
and use a derivative of it to form the premise of the next car in the train.

I am playing with a non rhyming vesion of the Musette form.
The last word of each stanza forms the premise of the next.

Premium Member Earth Glow

He’s a creature small and lowly.
See him move along so slowly -
an earthworm.

He has no fins that he might swim,
nor wings that wind might carry him.
He’s earthbound.

And yet there’s something you should know.
God made him special; he can glow
like *earthshine!

*Earthshine is a newer word and synonymous to Earthlight, which is a natural phenomena of sun reflected off earth particularly on dark side of crescent moon.

This form is a derivative of one called The Compound Word Verse

Premium Member A Promise To God (Co-Written With John Moses Freeman)

Come December 21, two thousand and twelve
On the winter solstice, mankind may burn in hell
As man's Creator, I've sent multiple warnings
Nostradamus, the Mayans, Hopi Indians
All believed there was still time to reverse this course
But My warnings have ceased, even My voice grows hoarse

Dear Father, my sacred heart is of course willing
Though mind be the enmity of Christ's blood spilling
My center most being, with Your spirit's all seeing
The sacrifice of Your son saves souls of all beings
Father, though slay my flesh, Thou hast immortal stash
For Thou has the Adamantine, the adamant cash

This is not the response I expected from you
My warnings so long unheeded have made me blue
You are my children and I vow to save your souls
But to save your flesh, you will have to meet these goals
Let the evil wars end, allow nature to thrive
Cast aside all notions of greed to stay alive

I shall heed with God speed to sow the righteous seed
My love will manifest, for 'tis my soul's main heed
I shall present my flesh body as this soul's alarm
I shall not conform, from this world I shall transform
Holy acceptably my receptacle sin free
By my renewed mind transformed by Christ's mind shall be

I will spare your flesh if your words prove to be true
In turn, dire prophesies I promise to undo
Encouraged am I to hear you express remorse
It was never My wish to take action so coarse
To save body and soul, I sacrificed my Son
It has been My wish that all men will live as one

Forgive Father, so shall I speak just this once more
As Thou has given thus this world for to explore
‘Twas a parasite seed from derivative mind's greed
Brought forth by chance, a wild branch, doeth Thou not concede
Purgeth my wild branch of chance, ‘tis your right to do
That I might pursue Your true vine, my love be true

Premium Member Poet's Epitaph

"Xanadu of Oranges", the reporter wrote,
just one of many paper slips and notes,
left behind when the poet died, unquote.
To his very last moment, he had hopes
that he could write that one poem so supreme
in its cadence and rhyme, in its meaning
so sublime, that no one could miss his dream.
No one could misinterpret, none seeing
his words could mistake intent or lament
that he had regrettably missed his mark
or remark, "derivative!",or really meant
much of his work as only so much dark
comment on a personal life of strife and grief.
No, he meant a poem to sweep you off your feet.

Scarred Soul

Feigned love cut you deep,
left your heart bleeding profusely
Blood red, rose-colored stains,
drip, drip, dripping trail leading out the door ...
time to mop up this mess of a relationship
Wring all the tears into the bucket,
flush it out of the system ... get clean again
Can't let hate infection set in,
your fragile heart has to mend
Stunned by the deliberate stab,
a betrayal of a lover's trust
It hurt even more
when a twist came with the thrust
No one ever told you that pain
would be a derivative of the pleasure game
In your weakened state,
delirious passions swirl in your mind
Flashing images of past sated desires ...
you moan feverishly in the night
Love withdrawal has such a narcotic bite
And time doesn't heal the wound quite properly,
you're left with scar tissue on the soul
Touch it gently with your mind,
and feel the oddest sensation ... like phantom arousal
It sickens you that you feel pleasure
from neural memories
of when your two bodies pressed together as one
It frightens you that you still have these type of feelings
for someone who merely regarded you as a sex toy
Then cast you aside,
and tried to kill your soul and steal your joy
You must face your fears;
the thing you desired so, almost was the death of you
But you lived on with a scarred soul,
and much wisdom gained:
from disfigurement, your true beauty now shines through

Premium Member I Try Not To Read

I try not to read
other people's stuff,
too much.
Cause when I do,
I'm left with
this disquieting feeling
that it's all been said,
and much better.
That's why I hate
that damned Bukowski
so much.
For days after
I am derivative
and imitative.
I can't live with him.
I can't live without him,
and I drive him out the door,
and his overdue books are taken
back to the library and paid for
with a vengence.
But if I can just keep tromping
across this poetic veldt,
recklessly mixing metaphors
and crushing sentences underhoof
like some adolescent rhino,
I might, in my innocence
of what is proper,
find a clearing by a gentle pool,
where no one's been before,
and I will sink to my knees
in the mud,
drink deeply of waters
that have never been described,
breathe deeply the scent of flowers,
that no one knows,
and I will tell you about it,
and you will come

Mathematical Poets

They are bilingual,
fluent in a paradoxical
intersection of a line and a cloud.
Each language has a distinct cadence,
a unique inflection.
They can jump over the discontinuity,
the differential between
derivative and derivative,
integral and integral.
They put the rhythm in "logarithm"
and could remove the "can't" from "secant"
if words were defined
at the point of intersection.

Premium Member "naught"

Free Verse rhyme

For the cause of naught, all wars have been fought
For in Love’s true entity, God provided a plenty
For the cause of naught, hate has been wrought

Sin was the begin of naught, for which greed of wars are fought
For cause of naught, lust was thrust, from mind of dust
For `tis naught therein the mind doth trust

God’s dread, as proverbial cat was led, mind’s curiosity was fed
The naught by curiosity fed, to the mind was dead, as God hath said.................(Gen. 2;17)
The debt of God’s dread, His Son, to the naught of humanity was fed

The derivative mind, thrust forth into life
Departed from life, entered into strife
Now the tree of naught, the mind is wrought
`Tis naught, within the mind, where war is first fought

It has been said; War is Hell
But hell is a soul at war with God and self
Un-- till,--- by total destruction,-- nothing is left,--- of ego self
The conclusion of naught,--- `tis mind’s illusion

Economic self destruct, by the naught of mind’s luck......................(Rev. Ch 17 & 18 Harlot)
For `tis by two party feed,-- `tis America’s mind greed
By the corporate course, they shall have to force------Us
Eventually Love will intercede, swallowing the mind’s greed
A Mosaic seed, shall swallow Corporate greed, Even,
As it doth feed, thinking it `tis,-- itself-- God speed

For the “Naught” Christ’s blood bought!!!

Kiss the Snake

my meme replacement therapy
is going quite well
because I can't handle everything thrown at me
everything is a lot and GIGO to boot
the fibrous growth in my ear
said that the future signals us in some way
maybe coded glances wink wink
but we're not sure of the spelling
a real spectacle of setbacks
a bleeding archaeological phantom
engineered to manipulate
moving my pen in gleeful jerks
with a genteel appetite for mayhem
which is why I am now sharing
the secret of life with you
ready
mind is derivative
well that's it
looks like I've blown my cover
if this sounds like propaganda then it is
now to get on to the meatier part
first a matter of indexing
last a matter of indexing
buzzards are circling my guardian bottle of muscatel
and a couple of robins too
a tempestuous tune in a teapot
from follow the bouncing ball
to Rocky Horror
occult syntax as a 2nd language
and that was the last surface
he ever palpated
because the sages are perpetually boring
but have good circulation and a ruddy face
with long lists of abjurations as usual
one of them spoke just now
sending me in to negotiate
because I have a snake pit for a soul
on further reflection it turns out
I have many souls
most of them severe critics
several are wind up toys
academic or practical you decide
existence is both diagrammatic
and ready to throw a punch
in an ancient tangle of inconsequentials
well perplexity is the root of all humor
how is it that some ideas
are interpreted by other ideas for example
but whatever you do
never let an ideology sit in court
we know too much to be stupid any longer

Dad Son Dad

Dad
is all weather umbrella
is what they say...

             rain or shine
             there to protect
             is what they say...

                         But then don't we
open and close it as per our need
                         is he a puppet I wonder ...

                                         When torn and rusty
                                         we discard to buy new
is he object with limited validity I wonder...

When Dad needs protection
Kids hestitate to be his umbrella
is dad's not someones son and son others dad I wonder ...

Cycle continues, many a Dad continue to suffer
often at hands of son till he is dead
is dad derivative of dead I wonder...

Many a dad are taken good care of
Sons compassionate as to their own kids
is son derivative of bright sun I wonder ...

Eric's Second Fundamental Theorem of Love

"Eric's Second Fundamental Theorem of Love"
by: Eric L. Boddie

Love is....two minds plus two hearts
It's you plus me to the first power, there's no division in this part
It's the sum of two Souls, this equation is the best
It's the quantity of you and I, minus all the rest
It's respect and compassion over spells and potions
It's when you divide all the negatives, and integrate the quotient
It's the only thing that's given in any ship's relation
And only a well-calculated attempt will balance It's equation
It's emotion and devotion intersected by stress and pain
And It's only calculated naturally so it always yields a gain
It's a bi-product of lust or sisters and brothers
And It is always squared in the eyes of a mother
It's Faith Times Forgiveness, The Product Of The Word
And in It's simplest form, the bees and the birds
It's my blood, sweat and tears raised to the power of you
And since we both give it to all, it is inversely received by just us two
It's the rate of instinct, the highest power of dedication
It's The Derivative Of God, our Angle Of Elevation
To me, It's only known as you, the constant known as my better half
It's not hard to figure out, are you ready to do the math

Factors Affecting Intelligence - Part 1

1. Time (duration within a particular period of time) whether short or long and Time of
education, time availability for study
2. Interest at a particular point in time
3. Length, size, structure, width (specificity and diversity) of information available at a
particular time or point in time
4. Recepto-recereativity (Recreato-receptivity) - The ability of an individual to retain
and retrieve-remember information or to retain information without necessarily
understanding what the information means. It is the ability to manipulate data to make
personal meaning. It could be with the use of clues such as mnemonics etc. Also known as
the natural-intuitive-unlearned technique of doing things or representing things. It is the ability to use personal techniques or to retain and remember and give back what was implied without any derivation.
5. Creativity - This is driven by interest and understanding of the subject or information
and thus the individual has the ability to remember and recreate based on his/her
understanding-interpretation of the meaning. The individual can recreate or derive based
on his/her understanding. It is a point of view orientated knowledge at its peak, and a
derivative of one’s understanding. Here the information is linked to make-form meaning.
Knowledge at its peak equals understanding and understanding at its peak equals creativity (derivative of one's own understanding). But creativity is according to the individual's interpretation (point of view oriented)-understanding.
6. Mental work load

Ask the Moon

ask the moon

two approaches
two dead ends.
love doesn't die it just slips into your
back pocket
shifting uneasily
like detached spiders legs
you must remind it
that there's no where left to
run.
bodyless memory
entity unto itself.

towards and away
connected at their ends
by the circumference
of doubt.
each movement the derivative
of mute-faceted equations
that click away
between want and
denial.
you approach the subject
of love
with drama and a
top hat
twirling on a cane
with a razor edge.

slicing into
and stretching up
stopping up flows
that quench the need for
chronic seepage.
love has answered none of the
questions
least of all
are you able to love?
or can love exist
in the spaces you have left it?

at first love looms
like the steps of a library
littered with strange words
as you peer through the knees of
understanding
time alters the grandeur of
romance
revealing it as mere discovery.
then the first house
the patch of green
and the settlement grows
a cancer
or a mass of promises-
either way it seems incorrect.

and so the long
goodbye
a deja vu of ripped ligaments
and voided wombs
love remains transient
a boarder in the back of your
mind
an impossible achievement
incomprehensible as
immortality
while love,
the primeval
cytoplasm,
alters its shape
in order to survive.

are we left with
nebular inconsistency
or with
love?
ask the moon
it will reply
"rocks"
ask the universe
and it will remain
silent.
