Love
By Dane Smith-Johnsen
Love approaches and does not scare.
Love bears and does not let go.
Love cares and does not shrink.
Love declares and does not shun.
Love establishes and does not tear down.
Love forgives and does not remind.
Love gives and does not expect.
Love has and does not gloat.
Love hears and does not tell.
Love hopes and does not give up.
Love instills and does not corrupt.
Love joins and does not run over.
Love keeps and does not stray.
Love lives and does not stress.
Love manages and does not control.
Love persuades but does not discourage.
Love proclaims and does not hide.
Love questions and does not badger.
Love rejoices and does not displease.
Love sees and does not condemn.
Love talks and does not defame.
Love understands and does not misconstrue.
Love values and does not insult.
Love wants and does not ignore.
Love XOXOXOX and does not reject.
Love yearns, and does not insist.
Love zaps, and does not destroy.
LET US LOVE ONE ANOTHER.
Happy are we, who love the beauty of all things.
Who stand for the beauty of a child.
We......who have soft, soul’s wings.
Those who believe in God, not in Satan’s world gone wild.
We surrounded by the media’s outlandish lies.
That as we walk this earth, there is a mix of bitter laughter
and dirth.
Know well what God said, “ Vengeance is mine .”
And each of us, destined to die, swallowed by the earth.
Putting only world leaders on trial?
Pompous and righteous, of our sins we live in indignant denial!
We, seek only personal fame and all others on earth defame.
All of us are so perfect, we have not a one tiny drop of shame?
Remember, do not any leader of any country, as a god adore!
Only one man, His life, offered to save the world.
I see this in poetry, waving palms, shouting Hosanna to humans galore!
And shouting for the death of others, their minds be in a self-righteous swirl.

The poet Marshall Mathers
whilst "Cleaning Out My Closet"
blasted with inquiry-
"Have you ever been hated on or discriminated against?
I have...''
Interesting enough
in these crooked times
it is impossible to make a man like you,
or your art,
especially with unbounding determination.
Nevertheless,
It sure is mighty easy to attain their hatred,
through no fault of your own.
When they protest or demonstrate against you...
finally you have arrived!
That's powerful!
Common sense says,
"Never drive in the rear view mirror!"
Though, it sure is helpful to take a quick glance back
periodically
to check out Jealousy,
back there
doubting and shouting and eating your dust!
Take a whiff...
Listen...
AHHHH....
The band begins to play ferociously!
Off-key.
Off-color.
Slander Slogans pasted upon your face.
Furthermore,
Suddenly,
Systematically...
like roaches with lights bright,
they disappear into the night,
back to the slums;
begging for crumbs.
Once you've been Blacklisted;
Swallow.
Digest the miracle.
Pure, glowing gold
the alchemy of their anger,
visibly discernable from the glossy pyrite
appearing with fake praise.
Heed the old adage:
---------------Keep yir' friends close, and enemies closer.
Their futile harm repels from the Teflon donning your heart.
Envy
burns bold, boils,
melts and cools, then cold,
forging the sword.
Adding to your arsenal.
Stumble not
upon bone fragments,
brittle blacklist bandits...
the Catacombs of those
who aimed to defame your name,
staking claim for their
shameless sea of debris
and Rotten Forgottens
which only bolster your begotten flame.
Remain steadfast, undaunted
TROUNCE THOSE TREACHEROUS TROUBLES;

~Inspired by written words of Marshall Mathers, Cleaning Out My Closet,
Shady Records~
When tons of doom filled nights fall upon your head,
embers glow fierce and fires burn unabated.
Recalling her last breath and wish you were dead
in poem's last line, you've been beat and castrated.
From the heavens, a voice thunders out dire threats
about loses and late breakfasts without eggs.
Fumbling about, looking to hedge your foolish bets,
you drink your cold coffee, down to bitter, burnt dregs.
On waking you find dawns hammer truly fell.
Last nights burns are reminders of your tortured life.
You stumble and look up from pits of dark raging hell,
recounting now the true reasons you lost your wife.
Your alarm clock chimes out vulgar curses at you
and your dark house bids you leave by peals at noon.
You think of the ancient, sad wicked dreams, too,
as night falls with it's huge wretched lucent moon.
Dreaming of hungry tigers eating your new boots.
your house perched atop two tall adjoining trees.
A hunter fires; it is not a tiger that he shoots.
Second angry wife cuts your legs off at the knees
Metaphor amputations are so savagely sever.
Your spirit cries out I must flee, tiger is near.
The tiger roars with laughter, I own all your pain.
Second lioness purrs with abject contempt and disdain
Your old slaughtered heart bleating faint cries out.
Memories tainted and dreams coercing a shout.
In abyss of regret the famished tiger dines.
You struggle to cope, tree sways breaking it's vines.
What of taunting lioness who's false words defame?
Half muted stutters quivering lips murmur blame.
Muttered niceties in deep with disgust feigned.
Tiger haunting your dreams, as King it truly reigns.
Will you take a stand your courage regained?
Can you bare the cost, can you bear the pain?
Be strong take back what your past gains.
Clean the slate wipe away the shameful stains.
Climb up from the depth of hells dark pits.
Replace dawns hammer with soft cotton mitts.
Let satisfied lioness purr, hunt the raging tiger.
Be happy, be proud of regaining your swagger.
WRITTEN WITH ONE OF THE BEST POETS I KNOW.
ROBERT LINDLEY FOR THE CHALLENGE ON HIS BLOG.
THANK YOU ROBERT FOR CHOOSING TO WORK WITH ME.
When young my world through rose tint glasses seen;
my life was grand and to all problems blind;
the world was never seen as byzantine;
no diff’rence ever known in all mankind.
But as I aged I started seeing hate
by some toward the people not the same.
Yet did the Lord not everyone create?
Then why do some their neighbors still defame?
Now sixty years have passed since younger days,
and still with hatred there are those obsessed
who still continue neighbors to dispraise;
my heart is colored sad within my chest.
The moans still heard as whispers in the wind;
will mankind ever let their rage rescind?

I'll play the bad guy,
if it will make you feel better.
I'll make it my favourite role,
they'll probably award me an Oscar.
I'll stand in the firing line,
taking all the shots - maybe I'm bulletproof.
Put on those boxing gloves,
but punch me hard, so you knock me out.
I'll be your willing punching bag.
I'll act a joker, paint a smile on my face.
I don't know how to play the victim.
You can tell all the media -
I'm the villain.
I'll be your gangster,
rob a bank for you -
but I can never be a killer.
You can belittle me,
stab me with your words,
poke me your insecurities..
Defame me, shame me - massacre my character.
I'll slay your demons, whilst you slaughter my personality.
Let them point all the fingers - at me
I promise I'll be silent,
no courtroom will hear my confession -
a secret I'll take to my grave.
It's ok, I'll hide the truth.
I'm immune to the insults - just numb.
I won't look for tomorrow - It may never arrive.
Forget forever - I'm not evergreen - are you?
In this mad world,
I'll die misunderstood -
just like Van Gogh
Strip me of my clothes,
trample over me like you would on snow.
Leave me vulnerable,
shivering among unfamiliar faces.
Before you go,
cut me open,
let me bleed dry, just like a poetic death.
When I'm just a memory,
remember me when it rains.
Maybe the mystery of each drop,
may explain the unexplainable pain.

"God's love fills me with gratitude" - Quote by author
Gracious Lord with love overflowing while devising,
created this universe mesmerizing
Every single element thoughtfully crafted,
an epitome of beauty, perfectly drafted
For safety our body is covered with skin,
All holes covered by hair, dirt can't go in
Our eyes have outer skin, eyebrows, eyelashes,
disinfectant water cleaning endlessly splashes
He manages internal functions of body
He has given us an automated body
Nature too functions independently
Every thing happens resplendently
Those who can't move like plant and trees
He provides for them, they live in ease
He gave utmost protection to every small seed
To ensure happiness blooms, organisms can breed
He created dynamic mesmerizing world to behold
He has given us much more than what we can hold
He has filled our life with multifarious sounds
Every time we hear them our joy compounds
He gave us variety in food and spices
So that our meal delightfully entices
Variety in his creation deserves acclaim
He ensured no two creatures are same
Still he doesn't boast, he has no ego at all
He works silently, we feel we doing it all
His love gently caresses me
I feel his presence wherever I see
God's love remains same
Whether we love or defame
We are sinning, destroying earth
Still his love has no dearth
Ever caressing wind whispers God loves me
Droplets of rain whisper he cares for me
Whenever I think how much God loves me
I am filled with exhilarating glee

The gift of life is a wondrous thing.
Before aches and pains the onset of age bring,
Feast on the glories, God has set,
In goblets filled for man to taste.
Fill your heart with the elixir of love.
Champion the cause of peace as your vow.
Act in the Present and look up with hope,
For it’s the magic that fills up every cup.
Wipe a tear and bring some cheer,
That sure will leave you truly dear.
Make the weary feel that you care,
And lighten the burden that they bear.
A glow of warmth when borne on your face,
Adds so much more to your innate grace.
So light up your face with radiant smiles,
And let your laughter ring down the aisles.
Nothing lasts ever, it’s wise to learn.
So why go crazy for so much to earn?
Worldly gains may add up to your fame,
But such transient things, your soul may defame!
A Workplace Prayer
Written: by Tom Wright
1998
Lord, as we gather
at our places of work each day.
Let us do our tasks, with others,
in one accord we pray.
If it be day or dark of night
let us be found.
At counter, desk, or mundane task
or on appointed round.
As you forever watch our lives
Lord, keep us humble.
Forgiving us if because of self
we should err and stumble.
If in our day there might be things
we perceive as being wrong.
Lord, grant us grace to not complain
but place within our hearts a song.
Let us see within ourselves
all things, as you Lord, see.
With others not being cross
nor giving them occasion to be.
Let us have no part in sniping
or passing some tale that's lame.
Asking ourselves first, what good can come
if another's character we should defame?
Let us look upon our daily contacts
as blessings sent our way.
Finding within our hearts for each
naught but kind words to say.
Presenting none an occasion
to be dissatisfied or to grieve.
But through our smiles, let them see you
as they prepare to leave.
Help us to always be ever mindful
of our service owed to You.
Giving thanks for blessing each
with such great jobs to do.
Some One may ask, hiding behind mask
Who is the terrorist? Who indeed I ask?
Many a terrorist deflect their sins
On the defenders of freedom, they sow their raw hate
They yell their morals then cheat on their mate
They care only for their own righteous words
They brainwash the victims to cut off the heads
Then invent truths to fit their illusions so dead
They sing of peace and sell bullets for blood
Careful of the dark shadows hiding behind masks
They are easy to spot
They say not their names, only to defame
They hide behind codes and monikers
The KKK was classic
At the white cloak game
If you disagree
A hypocrite he says you shall be
When he is the leader of deceiving all of thee
Sweet words never hide the camel’s breath
Ask the children of Assad
Killed by men behind gas masks
For decades now we've swam, we've played
and on the grass, in sunshine laid.
A haven for our meditations
visited by our many generations.
Pristine beauty, nature's pride,
and now, bereft, tears we've cried.
To be destroyed, torn asunder.
Governments decree, a total blunder.
Safety issues is their claim,
so our park they now defame.
This decision, we don't understand,
upcoming destruction of community land.
Other solutions they will not hear.
Their stubbornness abundantly clear.
We now say goodbye to memories
of wandering through paths of trees
beside the lakes of childhood life.
Their idea of progress cuts like a knife.
For decades now we've swam and played
and on the grass, in sunshine laid.
A haven for our meditations
that's been stolen from future generations.
On Devil’s Night
There once was a devil queen on Whispering Lane
Mean and cunning her crew driven insane
For millenniums hurling malice
Content in her palace
Casting a malevolent muse throughout her reign
The King no longer amused by sonnets that shame
Concoction’s of besmirchment tangents that defame
He sends for his men
Calls out to them
bring me an enchanted quill before the sunrise flame
On Devil’s Night…
Along trails a fairy ascends with cascading red hair
Whilst devil queen sleeps inside her musky lair
Dreams of incantations
linking locution associations
Hater of poetry that allures not hers drives despair
As the fairy sings with an angel's voice
The King listens he has made his choice
Let it be so my loyal Jester
the fairy you‘ll sequester
The zealous Jester lures to come rejoice!
The jealous devil queen a tedious word crafter
Responsible for cancelling laughter
Now casts her spell
expelling the fairy to hell
It’s there she sings her happily ever afters
You see she was in a realm from hell, and not even a spell could save her.
The new reign of elect it is when she’s saved, and the devil queen will finally reflect. Denouncing her kingdom and foreboding.
Keep Fairys free! To express their poetic revery
By definition, to irritate;
but easy on the palate.
The footle is a witty poem,
written picture rhyme.
Semantics seals its fate
We write to enjoy the style,
to sport, to bring a smile
from double meaning jest.
Gives our minds a rest
without defame or rile.
Colorful as a noun
to be put down
in the bottom of the box.
Victim of paradox.
Living in abject brown.

I have searched for hours and not found any definition
referring to the footle as a poem, or even as a noun.
No official recognition.???????????
