Goldilocks

She's been gone for 16 years now
but her memory lingers on.
It seems like only yesterday,
I still can't believe she's gone!

From the first day that I met her,
there was never any doubt.
She's the one who taught me,
what love was all about.

Whenever I came home from work,
she met me at the door!
She was always glad to see me,
we had such great rapport.

In the evening while I watched TV,
she would snuggle in real tight.
Then when bedtime rolled around,
she would sleep with me all night.

We loved each others company
it coud not be denied.
For 14 years, my faithfull friend,
was right there by my side.

Her breed was, Boston Bulldog,
but she was gentle as could be.
Her coat was mostly brown and white,
but was a true-blue friend to me!

I've had happy times throughout my life,
of that, there is no doubt!
But "Goldilocks", my canine friend,
showed what love was all about!

A Souper Friend Encounter

A warm smile of hello in the sanctuary of poets
The name is Arden G.; here to express not to impress
If I coud do an eye-contact and a firm handshake in the virtual land of PoetrySoup
Would be a dream come true to meet great poets called, "Souper".

If I could move heaven and earth; I'd love to meet Linda or PoetDestroyer, SKAT and Julie Rasley
The first few who commented on my featured poem, "LOVE" and welcomed me as a family
Anne Lise Andresen who always drop by and Sheri Harper that ranked my first poem entry, "A Shot of HIV"
I'll tell them a simple, "THANKS" and encouragement of "MORE POWER".
For no words could capture the emotions of knowing wonderful artists in this world.

Of course I'd like to meet and learn something 'bout Yasmin Khan
Who advocates to bind each poets; pure intentions to make us one
I'll tap her shoulder and tell her, "IT'S A JOB WELL DONE".
Now everybody's sharing their depths and self one by one.

Is there a way to meet the founder of Poetrysoup?
To tell HIM, "BRAVISSIMO" and my new "SOUPER-FRIEND" too.

I Wish...

I wish i coud "moo' at your window;
And let not you sleep
I wish i could be a pussy cat,
And to your room i could creep..
I wish i could be a big brown mouse,
And your dirty socks i'll eat
And when you sleep to your bed i'll climb;
And bite your dirty feet!
I wish i could be a porcupine,
And i'll make you sit on me..
And when you sit and you get hurt;
I bet it's the best scene to see..!!!

Book: Radiant Verses: A Journey Through Inspiring Poetry

Time

Time, in a subjective sense
 Time, it wait's for nobody
 Time, present or past tense
 Time, is revolutionary

 Time, is of the essence
 Time, and space
 Time, bares reference
  Time, a purticuler place

 Time, for peace and love
 Time, that is well invested
 Time, simply not enough
 Time, can too be wasted

 Time, really is presious
 Time, making every bit last
Time, is up on all of us
 Time, goes all too fast

Ole Max (Inspired By Andrea)

This poem is inspired by and I guess coud be in conjunction With Andrea Dietrich's wonderful
little poem" Dog that Wears a Cone" so her's should be read first if you have not already!

We once had a Lab, black with white socks,
he was so very loveable, but I'm afraid,
dumber than a box of rocks.

For the third time that "houdini dog" got loose,
and for the third time got a bad case of porky quills.
That dog would often slip his noose.
Took him five days to get home from them hills.

The poor dog limped home almost dead,
Vet filled him with meds,
and stuck a cone on his poor little head!
and for two days he went through all Andrea said.

Then I came home and hurried,
Cause my wife called quite worried.
Seems loveable coneheaded Max acted quite sick,
it had been two days since he got into that fix.

And for two days he had not himself relieved!
We pulled off his cone so he was able to sniff,
and he made straightway for some trees,
he sniffed around and his leg he did lift...
and goodness gracious..how he peed!!!

Death Awaits Me

It seems as if the darkness was like a veil that
Covered and kept my heart away!

Death Awaits!

Hey listen to my tragic story
One melodramatic story
The one that even I hate to remember
I had lost my wife!
My only real love in life!
And my children would soon follow after her!

Death Awaits! Death Awaits!

I have no hope left in me
Lost my house after my job
And soon I had been forced onto the streets
I have been starving for days!
Crying tears of blood!
Then finally I submitted to the darkness!

Death Awaits! Death Awaits! Death Awaits!!!

It's like karma came back to haunt me
Taking everything that I once cherished!
It seems as if the darkness was like a veil that
Covered and kept my heart away!

Death Awaits...

Now that I've been corrupted
There was no way to stop me
I had all the power necessary to live
However, I cried for help!
Terribly crying on the inside!
Hoping for a release from this world!

Death Awaits! Death Awaits!

I felt like an empty shell
One taking space and frail
Asking for some salvation or a way out
I'm tired of living!
I don't need this life!
Not if I am to be left alone in this world!

Death Awaits! Death Awaits!
Death Awaits! Death Awaits!!!

It's like I held my life in my grasp
But then it all got taken away suddenly
It's like the darkness is slowly dragging me
Into a cold and dark oblivion!

How I wish that I could fade into the
Darkness and have death carry me away
But it would seem as if I'm made to
Suffer for eternity...
I've done what I've coud to try and
Take my own life away but I've failed!
So I'm on my knees begging the
Darkness to take me away!

Death Awaits! Death Awaits...

I call upon the darkness to do me a favor
I pray that my prayer will be answered
Take my life away for I want to
Be with my family once again...

Death Awaits...

Vangoghed Nose

I cut off my nose
And I sent it to you
Now I don’t smell you
Anymore,
Like I used to –
The cigarette smoke
The Big Red breath
The smell of your cologne
It was the Black Death –
It was harder to
Breathe after that.

But what did you care?
You didn’t want any mail
You didn’t even appreciate
The symbolism there.
I VanGoghed you
You ignorant prick
What didn’t you get?
It’s a nose you coud pick
The least you could have done
Is sent my nose back
But instead you fed
My nose
To your cat

Its All Gone

( ITS ALL GONE )

Michael couldnt help him self, he had a bad addiction.
He coud sit there for hours, and not care about the friction.
His wife was hanging by a thread, their life was in a shamble.
He thought that he could fix it all, whenever he would gamble.

Dollar after dollar, each day he pockets would be clean.
Hoping that he would strike it rich, on a winning slot machine.
At first he only spent a little, the problems werent that bad.
Now the loan sharks looking for him, and everything he had.

Blowing paycheck after paycheck, trying to get out of debt.
Even putting the mortgage, of their house placed on a bet.
Michael was addicted, and there wasnt that much time.
His kids and wife would soon be gone, cause he crossed the line.

His job was on the edge of gone, his bills are months behind.
The car got repossessed last week, and he owes so many fines.
Unless he realizes he has an addiction, and its layed out on the lawn.
Everything that surrounds his life, will soon be its all gone.

Biography (Them)

When you are young your life is not about you
You it owe to them for love, for sacrifice and rent
Youth is the margin of our parents ever do
The young know their life only by old consent
My father was doctor with animals in his care
The blackest and the first of them in that space
My mother was the Jill of every trade, a rare
Exhibit of beauty in a working class of grace

He out of the dry parish, made ladder with brains
And climb to wring the clouds of dreams. He
Matured from church school teacher, got the reins
Fathoming figures, Maroon boy in ascendancy:
Policeman, black sergeant, parting the waves
Clerk of the Court while colonials made war
Thespian for Vere John, the black hole craves
Everything it cannot be like a wounded star.

He did well when the war was done though. Some
Whites came back alive, and their substitute yield
So they coud find their sinecure. He got a ransom
From gruelling things too, a cut above the common field
His lettered mind scholarship him there
And this society that prevented cruelty to beast
Gave that astute mind its golden stair.
From slum investments father rose to feast.

He loved rebellion, it was his poetry, yet not he
But mother was the rebel, leaving father's house
Breaking bonds with tradition and its morality
To bring my sister weddingless, to choose her spouse
And refuse them regardless. Family's wealth
She forsook, and took the rudder of her life
Compassless to sea. All winds and surge she felt
Survival was the only fun in her fracture strife.

It walloped her, the storm of winds and fire
Three children and no way back through flames
Churning like a sword, waist deep wading mire
Her soul unshaken its sovereign pride proclaims
My own daily lessons that core my manhood
Father's love of learning, mother's pride
And I drifting in that Ark since the old flood
Left me in a barren place where wants divide

Myth of Cheating

Rumor has it
that she is a monster
she cheats on her boyfriend
with her ex lover.
rumor has it
that she feels no remorse
she never feels horrible for the uproar she causes
she is empty inside.
rumor has it
that she never thinks of anyone but herself
she gets what she wants when she wants it
and never considers the consequences of yesterdays action.
rumar has it
that she cares about no one
that she is an emotionless robot
that she is selfish.
rumor has it
she doesnt care about rumors.
Reality Being
she has so much feeling she doesn't know how to handle
at night she cries herself to sleep knowing shes done so much wrong to everyone
she always thinks of what has happened between her and him
reality being
she hurts inside
no one ever can take away the pain shes caused herself and others
she loves him and she thinks thats all that should matter.
Reality being
shes as scarred as a Vietnam Vetran
she wishes she coud just be normal
she cares about everyone so mcuh
she doesn't know what the right desicion is
Reality being-
rumors arent always rumors
black isnt the same as white
there is many forms of truth and justice
and your heart can't lead you to the right choice.
A monster could have a bigger heart than a loving mom
this girl could care about them so much
yet no one asks
no one considers
they follow the rule what you see is what you get
no one dares to deliever
that who you are in the inside can't be seen from the outside
and not everyone is someone you should trust
just ask the girl with the broken heart

Bad Boys Christmas

it was the night before christmas. and all in my house.everyone was sleeping
even my pet mouse.i was laying in bead a grin on my face.waiting to here the
yells and screams.he would make.the year before i was bad all year.i did not
want mutch hardly nothing at all .just a big box of legos and a brand new ball. but
i did not get a present at all last year. i vowed never again would this happen to
me .next year i will set traps i will get him you see.so i placed the bear trap in the
chimney with care. in hopes that his jolly fat butt would be there.so i rigged all the
stockings to give him a shock.put his exlax cookies on a plate with glee.then
laced his milk with castor oil you see.and i cant wait to see the look in his
eyes .when he sees me .laughing and pointing at his fat stupid behind just
waiting for him to crap in his pants.then it happened i heard a bone snap.he
yelled out in pain .but a weird thing happened on the way to see .santa,s voice
sounded familar to me. for it was not santa it was my dad you see. and before i
could stop her before i could speak my mother was blown right off her feet.she
lay on the floor my stocking in hand.her hair was all standing on end . grandma
was sitting in my dads favorite chair mouth hanging open all she coud do was
stare.i was in trouble did not know where to start .before i could speak grand ma
let a big fart.her eye started twiching she wiggled and groand.she jumped from
the chair and headed for the throne.she all most made it god bless her heart .but
all it took was one more fart. there was a brown trail from the chair down the
hall..but theres a reason im telling this story to you all .if you dont get a pressent
dont do what i done or you will be cleaning up crap for a month....merry christmas
to all and to all a good night....

Lizard

I've got the manners of a lizard,
yet she keeps saying I'm a wizard
She is so happy self-misleading:
she's sick to watch her step
I get myself a beer and sip it
She fails to learn, no way to drip it:
neither a word, nor any trifle,
just nothing coud have helped
I get myself a shot and watch walls
Out of her purse a mirror falls,
it does not break but kinda tolls.
She watches it and goes: "Yep.."
And on and on the bar's full
and on and on I stay cool.
Unless the walls sway,
then
I need another pull.

What Used To Be

Thoughts they are both good and bad, just letting my mind run through how we
were so perfect together. Thinking abput your soft voice leaking into my heart and
letting you stay there for a while, then thinking how we used to fight and how you
smashed my heart with the violence of your words. All i have to say is im sorry, i
wish i coud do us different but lifes unfair..I might as well deal with this pain and
hurt. Now i must mend my bleeding, broken heart.
