We cured death on a Tuesday,
launched the trial on a Thursday,
by Friday, 14% of the test group
was gnawing on the janitorial staff.

Still, the press was kind.
“Remarkable resilience,” they wrote,
as Unit 42A chewed through its restraints,
and tried to bite a cameraman.

We called them SoulSavers™,
engineered for eternal...

Bad Boys
I am a bad, bad, BAD boy
*** and NC-17 qualified,
I frequent the easy streets in leisure zone
and walk with a swagger.
I own my time
I own my dreams
I have my own plans,
I am the center of my domain--
I, Me and Myself,
I don't waste my time
to appease...

My speech was all out of sequence, my catch phrase for it was ‘mad gab’
I kept saying balderdash like apples to apples my brain was a scrabble!
Also I was hearing things in my cranium, it caused so much aggravation
Likewise, I couldn’t remember...

"Within the fog the distant mountains strain
bruised in shades of lavender and forest green

Tragedy of Narcissiphus

The guy had enough letting go of the wicked stone
Held on for dear downhill life and tumbled to the
edge of a lake admired his image and reflected in vain

The picture had arrested in time no mirror image here
In memory encrusted he and the...

The Phoenix
She nested upon
her self-made pyre
preparing for
another genesis
in blaze hues of love
and together they were
a combustible fire

She, the creature
exquisitely
forged by fire
eternally
existing within
love's dimensions
designed
to mesmerize
us, by swirling amber
scarlet, and purple
plumage
with flecks of cobalt colors
delicately dissolving
amid the firelight
shadows, a macabre dance
her last love song

Seemingly born
to say goodbye
and sweet...

Premium Member Repent and Believe
Riding a roller coaster
Propelled by life’s velocity
Governed by instincts and thought
Driven by an urge to emerge victorious
Sentience deadened to conscience
Flitting thus from desire to desire
We built an imaginary script
Of narrow ego identity

Some conquests won
We saw not unshed tears
Of mute weaker souls wasted
Owing...

”You will forget me, the love we once shared
Has vanished in the attempt at disguise
The dreams we once knew can’t be repaired

As Memes Diffuse
Mirror, mirror from the wall to online
vanity declares, pick a piece of mine.
Respond, rewrite, re-integrate the theme;
This contest prompt is becoming a meme.

Culture shifts slowly; one stanza at a time.
Apprentices with reason and rhyme
compose on the edge of vulgar and crass
pieces that are cheeky...
