Scientist Atop Mountain

I stood at the top of the mountain
Giddy, grinning— panting like a fiend
And thought of O2 sat.,
Allostery,
Polyporphyrin rings

And, in time, I thought of bottomlessness,
Half-filled glasses
Stars exploding through the ineffable blackness

And thought, underneath it all,
What’s the vastness even mean?
I began climbing slowly down from the ego of my dream

And asked
What for?
Nothing more
But a flag stuck in the ground?
To calculatingly defy gravity
As it mercilessly tugs us down?

And then I wondered, ponderously:
Am I a prophet
Or a god?
Is there a defined mind to our brain?
Dimension to our façade?

A man behind the curtain?
A voice within the sky?
An ultimate time and place?
An adequate answer to “why?”

I sat on the mountain, tortured
Like the archetypally wise
And knew then that all life’s purpose

Had been imparted through desperate lies.

Note to those not familiar with Biochemistry:
The first stanza refers to hemoglobin's decrease in oxygen affinity in response to high altitude/ low atmospheric pressure. This is accomplished through the molecule's allosteric conformation change. Hemoglobin's molecular structure consists of a porphyrin ring.

The Non Conformist's Version

Some of us ,perhaps are not cut out for this perfect world,
Life tells its story as the moments unfold.
Here we are sharing this Space, this Age,
Like odd misfits, sharing this societal charade.

The lonesome lover, whose love has died,
The angry rebel who trains children to fight..
The child who grew up on the streets,
The girl who left home in shame for her deeds.

Countless lives, strange stories,
Empathy, sympathy,sadness, joy, anger, love.
Each tale has its own fragrance,
Its not just the beginning or the end,
Its a bit deeper than that, my friend.

Conformation to conventions bind our minds,
      'Freedom' is born inside.
Little control that we have over others' opinions,
      Free yourself, free the mind-
The world transforms, the vision changes,
Hope blossoms, Love makes its way inside,
      Life grows, meanings surface,
Peace reigns... and the courage returns.

Premium Member When Love Was You

When memories fade, like luminous fireflies
and days become another red thread,
on horizons
When hope is nothing more than a wish,
held in the heart as a reminder,
when love was you
and I was a warm shadow to its light
To what end, do you haunt me so?
Is it desire?
To once again feel my feet endlessly float
Is it passion's yearning?
Caused by your mouth's kisses
Is it warmth from your hands?
As they held tight in conformation
Yes, I've kept your memory close
A jeweled reflection,
of a passing star, leaving a fiery trail
through the night sky,
disappearing into the darkness
Leaving only a silent wish
and a sense of awe

Premium Member She's Magic

Magic is a pretty cat,
Of undetermined breed;
Though her conformation says,
She could be part Siamese;

But she is black as black can be,
With luminous green eyes,
Dainty as a butterfly,
Diminutive in size.

She has a tiny little meow,
Musical it seems,
Sometimes she murmurs in her sleep,
Having kitty dreams.

She's really quite affectionate,
And very, very smart.
It isn't hard to see how quick,
She stole away my heart.

Salvation

You don't have to wonder
  or think that its strange
Fore time will continue to move
  so the seasons must change
First the of the nights
then the change of the leaves
'Till we're caught in the life
from the webs that we weave
Not being a man who will fuss
we tend to let things roll
Until we get stuck in a spiral
& things are out of control
It's really undescribable
how it all happened so fast
Watching all of my dreams
become a thing of the past
It began by attacking my joy
  slowly dimming my light
'Till it had stolen my resolve
& the will left to fight
Having lost so completely
thinking I must be to blame
I was ready to cash in my chips
& check out of the game
Then you crossed my path
& took hold of my heart
Putting an end to the misery
So " true lovin" could start
Now where this road leads
  there's no way to tell
But, I know you are my salvation
  that saved me from hell
And the amazing way you love me
  that's just conformation
That I finally get my shot
toward the dream I've been chasin

Premium Member Paws On the Avenue

Paws on the Avenue

Every afternoon ‘bout half past four
Paddy and I go out the door
No straying from our daily ritual.

Paws on Fido Avenue
Happy tails of sloppy kisses unmuzzled
Parade of canines – every kind “bone-i-fied.”

A purebred mutt strut cavalcade
Fashion parade of single coats
Long hairs march in pants

Yaps and barks and woofs
Howling hounds the moon
Canine panoply unleashed

Treats at every yard
Toys at every door
Red hydrants for pee-mail.

Delight rolls over
For belly rubs and tummy scratches
A loving pat upon the head.

No stray warm beds on winter nights
No puppies sleeping in the rain
No litter left abandoned scattered by the winds!

This march of conformation
Moves by happy gaits
Where even cats are welcomed in humane harmony.

Every afternoon ‘bout half past four
Paddy and I go out the door
For this our fantasy walk on Fido Avenue.

Premium Member Obligation

Obligation can promote inspiration.
If we don’t allow negative concentration to,
Stand in the way of our reputation.
We need to do more than just be a litigation.
To get out of our intoxication, which
   hinders our motivation.
Please seek reformation to continue.
People said that segregation was the answer,
   to help with education.
And no hesitation.
Don’t look to the exploration.
   nor the expectation.
You get no standing ovulation,
   because of your vocation.
So look to the LORD
He’s already given us his invitation,
 not more confrontation.
Just a loving father waiting for our
   Conformation.

A Welcome

A welcome

Hearing your unbelievable bluff
Always I confirmed not to follow you
In the name of helping hand
You tortured me demanding a salt.

Knowing your same intuition always
I tried to stay away from you
Circumstances in mind produced your
Attachment with my pure

A class of natural trend of life realising then
I strived and found you did not harm any more
I myself was indulged in your frame
Not being able to come out from you looking glass

One day two day continuously passed
Leaving a stamp of addicting on your path
Simply consequence of it broadened then
You only were my lasting sat

Conformation escalated and met goal of life
A habit of being with you
Developed me losing my chat
Then your bluff turned in me a path

You entered in my heart and lived
Now you are not with me love but
My remembrance salutes you day and night
Always in the morning welcomes that.

Luke 12:27 “Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin.
Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.
28 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and
tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you—you of little faith!

1Pet 2:19 For it is commendable if someone bears up under the pain of unjust suffering
because they are conscious of God.20 But how is it to your credit if you receive a beating
for doing wrong and endure it? But if you suffer for doing good and you endure it, this is
commendable before God. 21 To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you,
leaving you a model, that you should follow in his steps.

Crooked Canals.

Crooked canals seem to cancer my minds passages,
They flank my system and the first symptom is anger,
The situation goes from capable to cancelled packages.
Forgotten practices redeem the handled danger.

Turbulence in my undercarriages causes confusion in my passengers,
Nose die from 1400 feet, am i supposed to be this high?
Bodies as rag dolls grounded by seat fasteners.
Closed eyes see forgotten maydays with descending fates falling out the sky.

Mental executions refer families to the end of the waiting line,
A dead silence lays upon the room with shared fears,
Respiratory systems slow as minutes seem like days in time.
Fed violence sprouts couples of paired tears.

A simple conformation by signatures insure the act,
Marble walls to rubble as shovels hit debris from pedaled hate,
A respectable title and burial for the lost soul and a honorable plaque.
Tidal waves of numbness and weeping willows at the rest of fate.

She Moves Her Eyes, Raising Them Slowly

She moves her eyes, raising them slowly
and looks at the sun, rising in the sky
her every thought convulsing
into continuous questions of why

She moves all day, her steps suppressed
every movement prim and wonderfully dressed
but happiness and sadness kept merging as smoke
as she chided her heart for things it spoke

Has she not wandered, in her so many dreams
free of fetters like a free flowing stream
surrounded with thoughts of such delight
and everything good taken to extremes

She remembers that child, that lived in her
for even now, she lived in her
hidden by gestures so carefully controlled
so no one would know, she lived in her

At times, she closes her eyes and carefully wanders
what could have been, she thinks and ponders
what her life is and what it is not
what she has found and what she has squandered

Is it fate this forced happiness
so much conformation to things unsaid
can she ever reveal what she truly feels
with someone just listening to what she has said

Her heart still longs for that love
the kind that fits them both like a glove
she wants to give that something she hides
just once to be herself without all her divides

No one knows, what it is truly like
yes - no one knows
what it is truly like
when a heart is freely given
to merge and unmerge
without edges

Calm With the Breeze

The pressure is on.
And my day has come and gone.
Anticipation rides on the wings of my patience,
And all of this condensed into a bundle of one.
Defined and detailed, I assure you I am intense,
Time for a deep drawn breath I can barely squeeze.
Comfort covers my essence while I sit calm with the breeze.
Closing my eyes and never looking in,
My day has come to its final destined end.
Conflicts of interest rides on the wings of my anticipation,
Bringing me to where it truly all begins.
Defined and detailed, I assure you I am standing on top of my foundation.
Time for my eyes to correct the visions I can finally adjust to see.
Surfing the winds while locked dead into this God given breeze!
The heat is rising and turned all of the way on.
And my day has only just begun.
Restless energy tailing on the wings with my conflicts of interest,
All traveling like the speed of a mighty powerful one!
Defined and detailed, I assure you I am impressed.
Time for my hard thoughts to penetrate my deep!
Tranquility consumes the best of me while I sit calm with the breeze.
Opening my eyes and always looking out,
My day is what this has become all about.
Restless energy rides on the wings of my destination,
All in serious neglect balanced by my own given doubt!
Defined and detailed, I assure you I am my own perfect explanation.
Time for my deepest drawn breath, a struggle indeed!
I am calm with the breeze,
Riding on these wings of my personal conformation!

Bells and Watches

Maybe you thought of bluebells
Proudly displayed in a little hand
Maybe you thought of a pocket watch
Given as a gift upon conformation
Maybe you thought of an alarm clock
Bought when you moved out
Maybe you thought of a sister clock
A sister clock; straight from the box
Maybe you thought of a childrens watch
A watch with a name; given
Maybe you thought of a wrist watch
The watch you have looked at; for so long
Maybe you thought of a watch; in a value bag
Returned to next of kind

I heard the church bells toll
They called out as a reminder
There will be sorrow
There will be joy
