When Love was You
First posted 8/7/17
When memories hang like luminous fireflies
and days are another red thread on the horizon
when hope is no more than a wish held in the heart's reminder
To what end do you haunt me so?
Is it a desire to once again feel my heart endlessly float
from passion's yearning
caused by your kiss or the warmth of your hands
as they held tight in conformation
Yes, I've kept your memory close
a jeweled reflection
like a passing star leaving a fiery tail
etched in the night sky
disappearing in the darkness like a silent wish
and a sense of awe
