Premium Member Writing - a Blessing

"I have never started a poem whose end I knew. Writing a poem is discovering."
                                                   - Robert Frost

      Poetry is an art
   That gushes from the heart,
When we pen our feelings,
It helps in mind's healings;

I'm sure you're concordant ~
Extremely important
   Is poetry in life,
     It helps overcome strife;

     Unique men and women,
   We fight battles with pen,
We are God's messengers,
Merely His presenters;

He gives the words, we write,
In this darkness, spread light,
   It’s God’s gentle caress,
      Relieves some of our stress;

      Writing poems, we’re strong,
   Trying to right some wrong,
Poetry makes us, us,
Writing is sure a plus.

Disenchanted Muse

My muse did her fealty recuse
My honor she did stealthily reconnoiter
My discourse was grounds for divorce
Finding my writing no longer enlightening
My blithe parlance no longer my mistress did entrance
With my prose she did forthrightly dispose
Each short she did subsequently abort
Each regaling verse did prudently disburse
Each perforated line truncated with lackluster shine
Each conjured sentence only increased my penance
Each glamorous byline she did smugly decline
Each dilated phrase with a bridling border did encase
Each gilded stanza a burnished extravaganza yielding no artful bonanza
Each tethered word coagulated into a stolid curd
Each bloated quote sunk my creative float deeper in the moat
Each lofty rhyme labeled too smarmy and sublime
My metric time no longer struck a concordant chime
Each literary device neatly spliced would not even a novice entice
Each repetitive, stagnant metaphor made my verse a bore
Each strained, tortured simile engendered no empathy
Each supplanted metonymy a shock wave lobotomy

Walk the Path of Odin

On a Snow Full Moon
I walk the Path of Odin
Like an initiate I wear only a white robe

On a Snow Full Moon
I walk the Path of Odin
I am sacrificed

I walk through the city streets
followed by two attendants
two older Greek women in black

In my hands
I carry two red roses
they are frozen from the cold

But they lay dormant
in my hands

One rose is life
One rose is wisdom

The roses are the symbol of new life to come
in the Spring

I walked pass many people in a square
they are concordant off behind police barricades

Its the death of small child
Men remove her silver black coffin from a car

I refuse to look directly
But my inner knowing
said a small girl has died

I thought to add the two roses
to the funeral cortege
But I hold on to them

The small girl who died
is my own death
The death of my inner self-ego
the sacrifice of walking Odin's path

When I reach the end of the path
I am confronted by women and men
in apartment block

I share what little food I had with them
from my journey

I could feel the presence of a presence in the room
but no one spoke of it

But then something began to move inside of my body
Inside my right hand smaller objects started to move around
Impressions of words and symbols and images

And the words: ODIN IS ODIN

I ask a man did he know about Odin's spirit being here
He said that he protects us and
he ran away to report the news to a friend that I felt Odin

Then I rubbed both of my hands together
and Odin's spirit moved around in both of my hands

I shouted out with joy
I shouted out in laughter
ODIN IS ODIN

Go Forth

Go forth, you man of a hellish breed.
Go forth, you man of yellow hair and skin of orange hue.
Go forth, with your wickedness a brew.

Go forth, and dwell in your white sanctuary.
Go forth, with your perilous games of foreign adultery.
Go forth, and immerse yourself in an ocean of self-indulgence,
ignorance, and immorality.

Go forth, with your lust for wealth and power.
Go forth, for greed is a grievous evil under the sun.
Go forth, with your wonted behavior of wickedness,
for your time grow closer to the hour.

Go forth, you man of a low degree.
Go forth, with your oppressive grip on the throats
of the sick and the poor with your vile decree.

Go forth, for evil has devoured your soul.
Go forth, with your heavy ruthless foot on the backs
of human civil rights.
Go forth, for your heart is as black as coal.

And we shall..
Go forth, like a great cloud of tenacity
under the brilliance of God's glorious sun.

And we shall..
Go forth, under the blanket of the starry night
feverishly protesting until our mission is done.

And we shall..
Go forth, fearless and in a diverse unity, with our hearts
heated and our minds brilliant.

And we shall..
Go forth, united and unfeigned in rendering our cause in concordant.

And we shall..
Go forth, with a legal and political vise against
you and your minion's mandates of inequality.

And we shall..
Go forth, with our fight for equality of all humanity.

The Sound of Black

The sound of Black is Thunderous
booming in a darkened sky
that is ominous

The sound of Black is Scary
Black cats and Black-garbed witches
creating a cacophony

The sound of Black is a Croak
from Black crows and ravens
on the branches of an oak

The sound of Black is Beautiful
Black people worldwide
dressed up very colourful

The sound of Black is Concordant
Ladies in their black dresses
looking smart and elegant

I Will Not Hold Back

I will not hold back

My dreams have traveled
As far as the heavens exists . . .
And beyond

I have created my own dimensions
That I may dwell
In a certain certifiable solitudionous state
Where I visit
To reclaim my ‘Self’
And recover my divine balance

I have looked into the eyes
Of ‘Reciprocity’
And saw my self
Looking back at me
Examining my
Authenticity

I have spawned
Alternative lives.
Existences
That I have lived to their fruition
In but a
Blink of the eye

I saw you there

My heart has danced
To the undulating rhythms
Of concordant harmonies
Shared betwixt
The Waves of the Oceans,
The Moon
And the Mother of all things . . .
Earth

The pathways and the waters
Of Life
May be uncharted
But have I not been this way . . .
Before ?

I have sang along
With many different types
Of birds
Emulating their charming
Chatter, chirping
And the characterizations
Of their presence
And congruity

I have peered
With my naked primal eye
At the Sun,
The Moon
And the Stars
Embracing my endless possibilities
And all that may be
Can be,
Will be
And is

I saw you there as well

I have thought about things
Until I was high on them;
I have thought about things
Until I believed
There was no way out
Of the abyss
I created
From my own consciousness

I have even though about things,
Until my head began to hurt,
And my spiritual zeal
Wilted
Like the dated and
Unnurtured flowers
In the Gardens of Hope

I live mostly
With my heart on my sleeve,
But from time to time,
There are vagrant weeds,
Fears
And doubts
That visit my doorstep
Hoping to claim my abode
As a home
And share space
Along with my ego
And it’s un-founded esteem

My ‘Soul’ is of all things
And all things are
Of my ‘Soul’
And the truth of ‘it’
And all of its darkness
And grandeur
Can be found
‘Right Here’
In the ‘Singular’
We call ‘Now’

Will not you sing along with me
As we skip through this journey of wonder,
Wandering here and there
With no particular agendas . . .
But love

I see you there . . .

Me . . .
I will not hold back

Destiny Or Choices

Destiny or Choices Contest
Sponsor: Nayda Ivette Negron

My fate resides within my destination
Am I to make my own decisions or am I just God’s creation?
Karma drags me beneath my delicate fortune
Am I just a simple being or someone important?

Eventually my future will come and pass on. Whenever that happens I will realize my purpose will shine through the universe so bright Venus will capture my essence. Choosing to be extraordinary will allow my providence to survive. I prefer options inside my circumstances. I believe my decree lays next to my choices and my choices lay next to my reality. Science and destiny co-exist. I have proof of that. I live in the present and will die eventually. My choices are contingent upon my beliefs and my beliefs are contingent upon the understanding of chances taken. I feel freedom to live how I wish, yet I anticipate the hereafter. Reasoning can seem smooth yet selections can seem complicated. This I know. I hold my fate in my heart and I carry my decisions in my intellect. These two things keep me alive and staying alive will bring me to a superb life after death.

Am I to make my own decisions or am I just God’s creation?
I think sincere reasoning causes future liberation
Am I just a simple being or someone important?
I do wish to be prosperous at peace and concordant.

My fate resides within my destination
I choose to be righteous with dedication
More blessed life lessons free of contortion
Karma drags me beneath my delicate fortune

Premium Member I'd Find Nirvana

I'd find nirvana, if I could,
on distant coast by lapping bay,
far from all strain of daunting day.

Sustain no drama, as I should,
  an ataraxis of my mind
that is a spot I'd wish to find.

If I ask you to join, you would
  find full placidity flows not
  from finding an idyllic spot.

Unlock this truth that long has stood:
  it's good to know tranquility,
  pursuing kind civility.

Concordant harmony is good;
it's worth our diamonds and bankroll
to own it in our inmost soul.

I'd find nirvana, if I could,
sustain no drama, as I should.
If I ask you to join, you would
unlock this truth that long has stood:
        concordant harmony is good.

Lipogram
A lipogram is a composition from which the writer systematically omits a certain letter or letters of the alphabet (in this case, the letter 'e').

Constanza
Created by Soup's own Connie Marcum Wong, a Constanza consists of 3-line stanzas of 8-syllable lines, where the first lines of each stanza are monorhymed and combined to form the final stanza. The remaining lines of each stanza are rhymed couplets.

Premium Member Songbird

The day the songbird came
the sun shone between showers.
The silence was perforated
with melodious euphony,
the day the songbird came.

The day the songbird came
our melancholy was lifted
with his tunefulness,
his brightness lit our darkness -
the day the songbird came.

The day the songbird came
marked a sad anniversary,
but its memory is diluted with
his sweet concordant sound.
Today the songbird came.

Now that the songbird's here
a passing wave of pensiveness
is pervaded with jubilant abandon
and crashes on the shore of oblivion
now that the songbird's here.

Amazing what a song can do
to dark and sombre mood and hue:
discordant silences harmoniously
transformed to sweet-toned humour,
now that the songbird's here .......

Oh stay, sweet songbird, stay......

Poulter's Measure-Lyrically Concordant

Putting thoughts on paper, connoting their portent;
contesting guilt by being lyrically concordant
with symphonic tones of poetical elegance,
expressing a mere necessity rather than extravagance.

Putting thoughts on paper is connoting their meaning,
while being internally stirred by a conversional insight;
so adamant in displaying poetic verses to the living...
expressing dire necessities rather than narrating plight.

Contesting guilt and dissolve its pain begore it gets intense,
sleep restores the weariness endured to achieve the quest;
drastic changes have to be made and be lyrically concordant:
is there anything easily obtained without a sustained diligence?

Use sympathetic tones with no harsh reprimands: shun contention;
your genuine narrative can be epic and assertive enough to convince,
stir clear of hideous ideologies that smother with souls with vengeance:
denial is the culprit of all absurd vanities, repentance leads to redemption.

Journey of a Thousand Miles

With hopes to get ya glance
I came, all way from France,
Left out, all my intended plans,
Forgot about all my vast expenses,,
To just prove my myriad romance,

On 21st September, i did commence,
A journey of a thousand miles,
To a far world to advance,
To show love of great allegiance,
To express mine, not a mere pretense.

It was a persistent diligence,
An earnest persistence,
It was an evident obedience,
A significant vigilance,
It was a concordant promise,
To never leave ya heart in open space.

Dear, don't be one of disobedience,
Don't initiate an undesired process,
Don't bring down our love's great success,
And from others maintain an abstinence

Harmonic Convergence

First , to understand harmony as charcterized by a concordant
which is to formerly agree........converge , is to approach the same point from
different directions , to form unity toward a common result . The theory or study of
the physical properties and characteristics of musical sound , analysis being the
representation of math functions by means of linear operations .
Physics / acoustics ; is similar to themselves in regard to " wave "
physics.....and " vibration " acoustics , a melody of chords to produce substance .
Force correlation ; forces such as , heat , electricity , magnetism , light , sound , in
theory is indestructable matter , no material particle can ever be lost , no part of
the force existing in nature can vanish . Force or forces , being different modes of
motion , making them capable at one moment a " cause " , and at the next an
" effect " ; cause and effect , with the beginning of the proton ( physics ) to
symbiosis , mitosis ( biology ) . To understand the physical elements that
surround us , coupled with the biological elements that are us , is to at least
understand the interaction of mutual cooperation with the two properties which in
effect influence our ( 5 ) physical senses . CAUSE and EFFECT............
Hypothetically speaking........is it possible that because of our
biological composition as earth beings , along with the physical elements of our
environment , that is the cause for our perception , where on a different planet ,
because of the different atmospheric elements that don't mutually respond to the
differences , thats why everything can appear barren , a chemical disfunction.....to
take it a bit further , but actually personal , internally , could this also be the
reason for disfunction of self , being barren within , like a desert........hollow ?

Premium Member Rain, Rain, Rain

Giving essence of life,
Insinuating vigor into all mortals,
I am crazy about showers of rain.

These dazzling enticing raindrops,
With angelic mesmerising charm,
Enthusiasm guzzled into us by rain.

Blazing tender emotions in my zest,
Thriving to divulge and flare,
Chilled out by splashing rain.

Unearth thy eonian devotion,
Restoring concordant temptation,
Value the alluring rain!!
