Dear Ancient Sister
I hear your distant calls finding me on a gentle breeze
You have lived in my dreams for many seasons

My voice
Your voice
My soul
Your soul
And our Coming of Age

I have always known you...
I have heard your
Quiet whispers echoing in
The night coming close to me

I call to you ...
Let me be a part of your breath
I have always known your wounds and sorrow
I see the light and magic in your eyes...
The pain you carry so eloquently

I see your reflection in the clouds above
Carrying your soul wound on your sleeve
I see the deep crevasses and lines
In your grandmother’s hands
I hear the secrets beneath the earth of
Your grandfather’s footsteps

I see your reflection in the twilight
Of the evening... against pink watermelon hills
Your voice beckoning me onward closer to you

I see you in the moon and stars
Your buckskin dress adorned with
Ceremonial beads
Abalone shell against your forehead
The dirt beneath your moccasins
Grateful for the kiss of your dancing feet

I hear the echo in the distance of songs
The Elders sang...
During their passage here

You are born into a woman
Before my eyes and heart
Before your tribe
Before nature
A wise new feline
A mystical power with endless allure
A force that lifts and unites us all
As one
Your rays blessing us and leaving
A welcome imprint on our hearts

My Ancient sister
I drink in your wisdom and grace
I fly on your wings
You have shown me your world

Watching you dance
Becoming you for moments in time
Your silhouette etched by
The wild flames behind you
A glow radiating into
The night sky

The stories of your Ancestors
Filling the air with
Words and lessons and song
Notes sung into clenched fists
With bloodstained hands
The children and animals
Sensing all that was
And all that will ever be...

The call of a distant bird
The thumping of your cane on
The hungry earth
Keeping time with
The movements of your body

You will look back on this
Day as you walk with the
Same cane down the path of
Old Age...
Your wisdom
Cupping your heart gently

Ancient Sister of mine
I am in gratitude for
Your strength and courage
The kiss of your words and
The teardrops of your loss

Premium Member My Day Is Coming

I used to mow the lawn with joy.
And trim up all the trees.
Prune the hedges, tend the garden.
     Way down upon my knees.
Shoot the bull with good time friends.
Now, most of them are gone.
And, I know my day is coming.
I guess it wont be long.

             BUT NOW......

I sit in shade, with tea in hand,
And wave out to the guy,
Who mows the lawn and trims the trees,
While I just sit and sigh.
I dream about the friends I've had.
     We always sang life's song.
And, I know my day is coming.
I guess it won't be long.

             AND SO......

I've made some new friends here and there.
     It's hard to be alone.
Have shared some stories, had some fun.
A few more friends have flown.
Created some new memories.
     When memories are strong.
And, I know my day is coming.
I guess it won't be long

             WELL......

I wrote those verses years ago.
     But, I'm still going strong.
And, I know my day is coming.
I guess it won't be long.

Premium Member Spring Is Coming Soon

Sing with the birds in May
Pretty songs in dancing play
Raindrops on pedals of flowers
Inspire dreams in spring showers
Nests where robin eggs lay
Give new life to see in a day

Iris, crocus, daffodil show
Soft beauty as they grow

Crickets chirp in evening air
Owls hoot in chorus, a pair
Melodies from morning to night
Instantly lift the heart to flight
Newly cut grass with colors around
Give abundance of beauty to be found

Spring is coming soon
Open your heart to the tune
Over the hills, by rivers and lakes
New beginnings are now awake

A angry sky, as cauld as Loch Lomon'
fair drew me out from cot o' peat, an' bed.
The wolves wus wailin', an' thund'r respond'd

To 'orse ah took an' found the 'erd sam 'urt.
The 'ungry wolves 'ad already fed.

We wud mak it hame, stomaches churnin'

Premium Member Jesus Christ Is Coming Back Down

To the tune of "Santa Clause Is Coming To Town"

You better look up,
prepare for His sight.
The Lord will come back
some day or some night.
Jesus Christ Is Coming Back Down.

He's making a list.
He's paid the great price.
Who's going in route
to His paradise?
Jesus Christ Is Coming Back Down.

He sees you when you're breathing.
He knows you need His grace.
He knows that we have all been bad,
but He died to take our place.

With bright Seraphim and bright Cherubim,
Trumpy trumpets, and drummy drum drums,
Jesus Christ Is Coming Back Down.

He sees you when you're weeping.
He offers His embrace.
He knows you like nobody else,
yet He loves you anyway.

You better not doubt.
You wanna know why?
Your life could end soon.
There's no second try.
Jesus Christ Is Coming Back Down

My Declaration of War On Self-Imposed Stupidity...Who's Coming With Me?!

All this hyped up glam and glitz
giggly girls break down in fits
these mascara clad boys devoid of wits
The shallower they go, the deeper it gets

Sillouettes lacking inner angles and lines...
The substance goes absent when the light shines...
Plotless drama without direction, still winds
These tragically bad fads spread like vines

Overrun with Reality shows depicting what's REAL
A mass zombie audience digesting their meal
Not In, but outside, this box they soften like veal
Staring at a screen that numbs how they feel

When did the war on intelligence start?
Losers not knowing that losing's not smart...
Cable providers gladly doing their part
News channels selling half-truth ala carte

I will be a rebel and fight for your mind
Hiding remote-controls where they won't find
Trading entertainment for knowledge in kind
Giving books out to the voluntarily blind

It's gonna be a BATTLE!!! WHO'S COMING WITH ME??!!

Premium Member Christmas Is Coming

It is now that time of year again when people start feeling festive
Kids write lists of pricey toys making parents feel apprehensive
Computer games and the latest phones, usually top their list
Enticing adverts on tea time television, make it harder to resist.

With rising costs many people, are struggling to make ends meet
Pricey toys parents would love to buy, but they still have to eat !
How do you explain to your kids about food banks and poverty?
In the background loan sharks lurk, rubbing their hands with glee.

Many succumb and take out loans getting heavily into debt
They purchase goods on the never- never until payments are met
All of this for just one day in the year, then months of misery
Then they try to keep the wolf from the door but fear insolvency.

So, try and explain to your kids that things may be different this year
And you don't have to be a millionaire to spread some joy and cheer
There are many ways to show your love and it won't cost you a dime
Be that shining light every day of the year and not just Christmas time.

But spare a thought for the less fortunate who are a lot worse off than you
The homeless, those caught up in wars, sadly there's nothing you can do
And as you sit down this Christmas day with your children's faces aglow
You might not realise this fact right now but you are richer than you know.

Because your family mean everything to you, they bring you so much cheer
They are more precious than silver or gold also friends you hold most dear
But remember this you're not on your own and we're all in this together
Try and look on the bright side of life and remember things will get better.

Premium Member Dad Is Coming Home Tonight

Our house is abuzz
With Me, Bella and Jess
And Mummy is all delight
“Dad’s coming home tonight! “

The Cake has been made
The table has been laid
Candles are alight
Dad will be home tonight!

Mum’s wearing polka dots
Dress, Dad had bought
She looks pretty, so bright!
Dad will be home tonight.

Jess was only two
When dad had to go
He still remembers him, right?
Can’t wait for Dad tonight!

Bella’s dream is a soprano
And so deft with the piano
She will make it a musical nite
When daddy’s home tonight!!

But me? I am a bit too shy
So I did this song on the sly
Plan to place it under his desk-light
Hope Dad will read it tonight!

Dad may have stories from afar
Of his travels and the war
Tales of nobility and military might
At the dinner table tonight.

Just imagine him at the door
Big smile, Open arms for us four
His loving grasp will be tight
When he comes home tonight.

There is a knock on the door!
We all cheer and roar!!
Mum is there on a flight,
Jess lisps, “is it already tonight?”

Four soldiers stand at our gates,
They must be his work mates,
Mum’s voice is soft in fright
“Is he coming home tonight?”

Voices drown as the men depart
Mum is back, her hand on heart
Slowly her legs yield to her weight
“Daddy won’t be coming home tonight!”

Sudden Death or Patently Aware Death is Coming For You Time is Precious

As I have and I presume most of you have as well

Had at some point in our life time

Had to experience loss and death

And a Silent muse just posed the question

I am now about to ask of you to

Given that there is no good way to die

But that death is how we all meet our end

Then on which side of this decision do you fall

A sudden death in an instant

One moment here the next you are gone

Maybe perhaps wall alone with no one there

Never having said or got to make you peace

Or being given say six months to live

Ever slowly slipping fading away

Most probably suffering daily in endless pain

Never not knowing if today is the day

And having to see the look on loved ones faces

But at least you got to say and make your peace

Goodbye and everything you wanted to say

And the funny contradictions about death

Is it effects those way far more still living in reality

Than the dead for sure per say

As in death the dead pose no question anymore

As they are Silent One and all forevermore

A Big Ship's Coming

Sail ~ Sail away
Blue Sky and Ocean
On a Bright and Sunny day

Sail ~ Out to sea
Big ship's coming
Time to leave

Goodbye ~have to go
To see ahead ~
What future holds

Please ~ don't be sad
Soon come a Whats-app~
"Pack your bags"

We're gonna be together ~ Despite stormy weather
Sometimes seas rough ~ that's when tough gets tough

Everything will work out fine ~ give it some healing time
There'll be a new tomorrow ~ joy comes after sorrow

Round and round ~ the world spins 'round
In a galaxy of stars ~ there's hope~ no doubt
"Hasta la vista baby" I'm on my way
Waves are ~rockin 'n' rollin ~ Big Ship sails....

Sail ~ Sail away
Blue Sky and Ocean
On a Bright and Sunny day......

Premium Member I Keep Coming Back

You kill me
And I come back.

You kill me again
And I come back again

I don't know Why.

Am I the problem?
Am I the cause?
Am I the affliction,
the recurring pain?

You kill me
And I come back.

You kill me again
And I come back again

The earth rumbles,
Crumbles,
Sending water surging,
Car Sirens blaring,
Dogs barking
Cursing the chill streets' air.

You stare
A still moment;
You're Home.

Thrill, tears of joy fill,
Runs down both
you and I cheeks.

Ill, how do I respond?

I don't understand
What is happening.
The guide is the sun,
What was behind
It wasn't meant for me.

Left behind, alone.
Alone out in the darkness
As the tempest speaks,
Drenching
Down to the muddy ground
Pooling
With nowhere else to go.

I shudder as I walk away,
Drowning
In deathless sadness.

In torture
By your glaring eyes;
I lie down weaken.
Again, I die.

You kill me
And I come back.

You kill me again
And I come back again

Premium Member Poetry: Shadows Coming to Light

Garnering complete elucidation
  within the untrammeled confines
      of several exceptional poetic lines
         most certainly deserves validation

Does brevity confine poetic thought
not if readers have a vivid imagination
     Comprehension is found where sought
Three lines can be a brilliant summation

Poetry is shadows that come to light
The tears trickling down from my eyes
My emotions escaping in sorrowful sighs
Easing burdens and healing scars as I write
