Best Cocoon Poems
Life is a beautiful liar,
where hope is a
graveyard of caterpillars.
Death is an ugly truth,
where virgin butterflies
flutter immortally.
Love is the only true guide.
Oh my beloved,
when you hid behind
a veil of metaphors,
I wrote your name in the sand,
with simple words,
watched as the tide
carried each letter to your shore,
so you could build a
sandcastle for my homeless heart.
Then you appeared,
enchanting and exotic,
like the scent of a summer night
under clear blue skies.
I recall the day we met,
confused and bemused.
You used to tell me there
was no such thing as forever,
until your words bled
like a mistress of poetry.
My hands were tired from
scribbling meaningless musings,
until I fell in love with a poet -
you gave them a purpose.
My muse, who once punished me
with tormenting silence,
now beat against my heart to
justify the majesty of your vision -
ink like waterfalls began to flow
upon rivers of romantic verses.
As the world sleeps tonight,
I'm tired from
watching airplanes take off,
as satanic seas keep us apart.
My heart reminds me of
denied treasure,
but my soul believes
it will kiss such riches soon.
As we create our own cocoon,
where devotion flourishes
into an eternal union.
The Butterfly Cocooned
Noon
Beneath higher twig tips,
my heart flutters
Near converging branches.
My cocoon
Rests
Mid-high the strength
and distinctive character
Of a gnarly tree. Embracing me.
This, my home…Cocoon.
Night.
This essential place,
Protecting
Above the swirling world,
Puzzling with its mixing motions
Of lights, colors, temperatures,
Until I think I shall just stay
In this cocoon
For all the days
of my brief forever.
I have grown able
To feel my heart flitter,
And my future hinting of more.
Secure herein my cocoon,
I debate with Life…
Staying here within,
Cocooned
Perhaps until I might learn
For its own brief time and purpose,
How each raindrop so proudly falls.

Every chrysalis
A butterfly in waiting
To sip buds' nectar
*For Rick's Haiku You challenge
Wrapped in God's love,
gives you the rare ability to see
wonderful things never dreamed of,
beautiful things that will only exist in eternity
A silken veil is God's love,
encases your mind with thoughts divine
Your heart undergoes a transformation,
new angel wings are now perfectly aligned
Waiting to fly always on God's love,
is a soul changing metamorphosis
Ready to emerge into a new reality,
and float forever on winds of pure bliss
Outside of your cocoon, there's a new world opening up to you
The first flower you rest on, taste the nectar of eternity's dew
As you lay in love’s sweet cocoon,
let me feast on your nectar til’ noon.
Your sweetness is so very divine,
beloved, you taste like a rare wine.
The more that I drink, I need a refill,
I can bask here of my own free will.
On this day of love, please don't forget,
you're a fine treasure; I have no regret.

Truant night wind sails--its moon without song
I long for rapt, minstrel's tune.
My angst wrapped in cocoon
Angel child ... gone in June.
on the cocoon
the butterfly unfurls
a baby loon cries
Fly me to the moon
Play us the bedroom tunes
The nod-nod head of lovers’ hoots
Let’s twirl this tango as David in jolly mood
And coil in celestial honeymoon cocoon.
PRINCE AGBA
The Cocoon.
The Inner woman was a myth in eyes of the oppressed
Limited to one
To one that gives her life
The layers of her thoughts lay dipped in his hands
Controlling the pieces of what was hers and what was his
She was kept a secret
Making her beauty lay diminished in his arms of trust and deceit,
Her Wings clipped
Her Ambition sorrowed
Her Spirit locked
The Butterfly's land was
Complete, with unchallenged control
The oppressor dominates all,
She came into this world unknown,
She looks to the sky, for the infinite dream,
her guide is heart, the trust of her pride,
Looking for a way
To bring happiness to herself, in all ways possible
She's lost in the eyes of what beauty of isn't
Consumed by the walls that have for shaken , moved and grown her
Little did she know, she was growing power through slumber.
Underneath the blossoming flowers and the sweet nectar breeze, laid the beauty of divinity.
The flare of her voice
The span of her wings
The beauty she had within her
Is the greatest joy, that was brought upon this earth.
We lay and wait, to watch the Cocoon unfold,
This Is a war that our Little Butterfly is going in on her own,
She may stumble, she may fall
She will fight the oppressor in all
Her wings dented,
Her Spirit unsure of,
She is it still our Little Butterfly.
Reborn.
Cocoon
I found a moth cocoon of silken thread
--A substance indestructable they say--
Almost unseen–his earthbrown, narrow bed
Where, patiently, the silent captive lay.
I thought to put him in a jar, to own,
To watch, to cherish his emerging form,
But No! The case was broken, he had flown!
His empty, useless house no longer warm,
He flew in joy beneath the spring-blue sky,
Caressing gardens with his sun-bright wings.
He seemed to relish living--sailing high
And in the April breezes fluttering.
I crushed his empty shell between my hands
And hoped he safely flew to other lands.
COCOON
I do appreciate that you are here
but one day soon I know you'll disappear
into the mist
I'll fly on butterfly wings.
I know you see someone you think is me
but nothing's really what it seems to be,
it's just a dream
that flies on butterfly wings.
It's not that I don't care, you know I do
and you can feel it, when I think of you
and when I fly
I'll fly on butterfly wings.
White light.
All my life a bright light
all my life a sweet ride, on butterfly wings.
Highway.
Always going my way
I will go on my way, on butterfly wings.
Out there
I'll be going somewhere
and I'm going to get there, on butterfly wings
Bright light
never ending white light
all my life a sweet ride, on butterfly wings.

Cocoon of silk the caterpillar spins
Intricately lovely a work of art
This is the moment change begins
Metamorphose will surely start
Magical chrysalis full of life
One day a fine beauty will emerge
Butterfly magic with wings so bright
Happiness complete sadness purged
Exquisite wings are a godly gift
Fluttering in warmth, summer kissed.

I find a friendly darkness
between the drops of rain;
I welcome skies of gray
that open up and ease my pain.
It matters not how hard
the scented drops may fall;
they enter in my soul
to wash away the gall.
Suddenly, with loud crashes,
or gently, all day long,
I revel in the magic;
to me the rain is song.
The windowpanes that flow,
the lowered, darkened sky
keep me safe within myself
and no one knows I cry.

I reflect to meditate
Broken heart to ameliorate
Twisting mind to percolate
Whole lost being to invigorate.
I meditate to wonder
Changes strike like thunder
Metamorphosis ticks like timer
Progress applaud for the better.
I wonder to think
For neurons to die and shrink
Writing words through my invisible ink
To be fathomed with my own related link.
I think to believe
As saying says, " To see is to believe. "
Mind's eye stimuli receive
No more " LIMITS " to give.
I believe to make a CHANGE
Self-innovation to be a strange
New me to live with no range
Yet with self-sovereignty to control life's syringe.
