Ah-Choo!...Just For Laughs!

There once was a man who took issue
With using his sleeve as a tissue
Handkerchiefs hadn't any
And head colds too many
Could not blow his schnoz if he wished to!

Ahh Choo Haiku

Dark skies prevailing
Rain puddles icing over
Jack Frost clamping down

Sweaters change to coats
Canopies falling like snow
Crystals flake windshields

Arctic winds howling
Blizzard skating upon us
Prepare to shovel

Mustaches frozen
Watery eyes show the chill
Sore noses galore

Little Ant Choo Choo Train

Five little ants, chugging along
Alternatively, perhaps it was six, hard to tell
I saw no engine nor did I see a caboose
Saw no little smoke stack belching smoke
Nor did I hear a whistle blow
However, these little fellows were sure determined
To get where they were going
Or perhaps they were returning from where they had been.
They let nothing stand in their way
No obstacle blocked their travels
However, every so often they seemed to stop
As if to make sure they were headed the right way
I wish I knew where they were headed
For perhaps I would follow them
And find a pleasant place to end my journey.
I could well imagine the conversations
Being conversed along their way
Perhaps they were as interested in me
As I was in them, but I think not
For they continued on their way
As I watched them slowly move along
On their journey to someplace.

Premium Member Choo Choo Charlie

Choo choo trains are so much fun
As they puff along the tracks
Full of happy clickety clack sounds
With a little caboose on the back

Chugging along up and down hills
Singing some happy wee ditty
His name is Choo Choo Charlie
Bringing country folks to the city

They're always in a big hurry
These folks from the busy town
Poppa needs to earn some money
To pay for Momma's new gown

In the land of big tall buildings
There's not a happy face
Seems like everyone's in a hurry
As if they're running a race

Charlie patiently waits until five
To return them to their homes
Can't wait to get them back on board
Away from the glass and chrome

It's strictly business all day long
There's not much laughter allowed
Till Charlie meets 'em at five o'clock
Once more they're a happy crowd

Why does it have to be this way
Choo Choo Charlie wants to know
Never mind, he's heading home
Happy passengers all in tow!

Ah-Choo

Sometimes, as you shoot the breeze,
You’ll be startled by a sneeze.
Even walking up the stairs,
It can catch you unawares.

With no allergies or colds,
Sneezing often still unfolds.
It may happen for no reason;
Some lay blame upon the season.

Sneezes serve to help remind us
That the forces which designed us
Left some mysteries to tease,
One of which must be the sneeze.

Ah-Choo

How is this possible?
Can this be true?

That me i weigh so
much more than you.

Yet i sit atop your
fluffy mound,

And still you come no
where to touching the ground.

So i thank you now for
this soft warm bed,

For because of my small size,
below i'd surely be dead.

(This is a picture inspired poem. It's of a dandelion that's gone from yellow
to the fuzzy white. And atop is napping the tiniest of all kitten's in the world.
Clearly this photo has been digitally enhanced, but the image was so adorable,
i felt compelled to say what i thought the kitty was feeling.. SAFE!)

The Choo Choo

The train whistle puffs
Frail familiarity
A world passes by
Muffled train sounds die away
White clouds of smoke drift behind

Premium Member Swine Flue Ca Choo

The TV’s raving the Mexicana flew choo
The trains gathering a head chaaaaaaa chooo.

The government needs a new control to
stop the immigrations flow to…..
It’s amazing the lengths I think they’ll go to
The trains gathering a head chaaaaaaa chooo
Body aches are screaming too
perhaps, I have the swine flu too?

Population was exploding
those undesirables were imploding
Firesign Theatre* did a FORETOLDIN
“You’ve got the disease!” their game show hostin

It’s amazing what a little bittie bug can do
to solve the problems of YOU KNOW WHO.

Premium Member Oh A-Choo

( A parody to be sang to the tune of " Say I Do "
from the musical Mamma Mia )

You've got a cold
And your nose
You should blow it!

Oh A-choo!
A-choo. A-choo. A-choo. A-choo. A-choo.

Your throat's rough
And dry and you have
Puffy eyes!

Oh A-choo!
You don't have to use up all the tissues!

Your joints are aching.
You've got flu
And you know it!

Oh A-choo!
A-choo. A-choo. A-choo. A-choo. A-choo.

Two weeks have passed
And you feel
Great at last!

No " A-choo's! "
No " A-choo's! "

Coo Coo For My Choo Choo

The trains are always on time
One running north
One running south
On the same track
It makes perfect sense when they collide
Who are we to question business practice
Authority is always right up and down the line
Little Bambi nibbles grass between the rails
Poor thing doesn't understand mass transit
East and West are foreign concepts too
Poor dear only knows north and south directions
And does not question and can not spell
She looks up and down the track for traffic
And gets confused by choo choos actions
Going fast on rails is funny and must be fun
Two steps up and two steps back then crash!
Her final words were whispered
Coo coo ca choo... then Boom!
Bye bye Bambi bye-bye
The trains are always on time
Up and down the line

Authors note: Sadly this tragic event below is a true story that happened this past week end.

*At least two people were killed early Sunday when an Amtrak passenger train collided with a CSX freight train in South Carolina. About 70 people were transported from the scene with injuries, according to the Lexington County Sheriff's Office. The collision occurred about 2:35 a.m. in Cayce, S.C., near Charleston Highway and Pine Ridge Road, authorities said. The Amtrak train was No. 91, traveling between New York and Miami. The Amtrak train's lead engine derailed, as did some passenger cars, an Amtrak statement said.

My only questions are; Why can't they figure out how to have one set of tracks devoted for north bound trains and another set of tracks devoted for south bound trains? Is it really that complicated?

The Me Too Choo Choo

Hopping on the me too choo choo
Generated a lot of power
By many who were wronged it's true
But could that mighty power sour?

Some might join for easy money
A case or two already haunt
The me too choo choo could derail
And nobody gets what they want!

Choo, Choo!

Choo, Choo!

Trains
Go fast
Transporting
People and goods
To diverse places
Where men have built the rails
Throughout countries of the world
Vacation tours on trains are fun.
Urban or rural, it matters not.
The Choo, choo, trains singsround the bend... Whooah! whooah!
