This road is snake-like except
for the crusty scales of an intestinal
late dusk. A boy treaded on the
lane tracks lean and nomadic...
burnt shoulders grilled and toasted by
the sun, as if his coal skin sparked like
burning diamond weeds. In a flash, a tender
sorcery poured in my veins. There and then,
I longed to whisper a tune, play the tambourine or
partake of the loaf in my sack with him.
But he waited for paper clouds to ruffle his hair,
seemingly undisturbed by pilgrims like me
holding unto holy relics and bones of night. The gauze
shirt as his frock winged with the silver winds,
windblown stroking my ebony tresses with a whisper
hushed by his delicate omnipresence.

In a dimly lit bus, sand wheezed tribal notes
moist on my eyelids uprooted by uncontained
temples of longing, now becoming thick
as woolen destiny. If only for a flicker of time,
his eyelids met mine so briefly... parting saline dust
of sacred, smiling gazes. I was inside a cell
of a wombed bus. He was outside enlarged by a
hundred stars exploding dewdrops, inviting eternity.
For a fraction of silence, we met somewhere
between the fluorescent of our twin eyes. He, the angel
first fondly encountered ; I, the dreamer ever bewildered…
I remember...I was five.

                           ---oooo----oooo---

If I told the winds
How much you love me
And quickly spread the news
Blushing your horizon,
Revealing our secret
To whole wide world
Before you could brief
Your own aspirations,
Would you still love me?

If I convinced the stars
To follow you around
As you spoke to the moon
Lovingly about us;
And if they told me
Your inner most thoughts
Before you got a chance
To consult your heart,
Would you still love me?

If my night sent you
A sensuous message
Arousing your dawn
With romantic feelings
Awakening you in
An enchanting dream
Before you were ready
To feel this way,
Would you still love me?

If I swept you off your feet
With pledges of my love
And carried you with me
To cherubic heaven
For a blessed evening
In the Garden of Eden;
And then if I forgot
The way back home,
Would you still love me?

I Feel

What can I say that I haven’t said before
What can I recite to tell how much more
You mean to my world
How that I’ve never felt this with any other girl
Is it simply that I love you
Is it simply that I need you to

Smile again
Smiles take away all the pain
The hurt
That first time I saw you I knew
That first time I held you my heart flew
To these July 8th cloud nines
And you smell divine
And you make me complete

When your eyes haunt my dreams
And when I hold you it seems
That time stops
And my heart beat drops
To zero and I can’t help feeling lost
In your essence
And your presence in my heart
Clears all the ache and doubt
And sorrow
I’m in love with our every tomorrow

But these words read so inadequate
Our lives spell out fates
Intertwined minds in sync
Praying that I never blink
To never miss these moments
Can’t miss these signs and omens
Our love is written in scribes on walls
In heart caves like hieroglyphs
Sang in ancient songs
And Greek-God myths

Sealed in celestial bonds
You know, it’s written in the stars
Spelled out in cherubic musical bars
Constellations drawn about our post sun-sets
Capricorn and Scorpio met
In heaven’s playground
I would’ve undoubtedly found an angel

But not till I fell
To earth and got tossed about
In life’s stormy surf caught
Chasing colourless rainbows
Praying for suicidal tomorrows
Losing all hope
Teetering on the edge this cliff
Holding onto the frayed end
Of a tattered rope

Not till my life was empty
Not till this life left me broken
Not till my soul was numb
Not till I was sure I’d never find the one
The other half of my poetic soul
Not till I fell upon your splendour
When your smiles did their all to render
Me helpless we would fit no less than that
Perfect sunset on a perfect July 8th
I’d finally be able to feel.

A precious bud was born this hour
a lovely little Zinnia flower
her soft new petals grace the stage
with newness of life, a beautiful babe.

With a halo of fine sweet angel hair
no other has entered the world so fair
with sapphire eyes and cherubic charms
she’s carefully placed in her mother’s arms.

As her new mom weeps and her father sighs
this sacred moment cannot be denied
for heaven has sent a gift this hour
a pure and priceless Zinnia flower.

Angels Danced

My Blue Angels, illuminaries of incandescent light for they frolic between non-existence and temporal time. As they prance amidst the spatiotemporal stars I can see through them for they are magnificent creatures. Like cherubic cannon balls accelerating the alluring ardent air they swing and sway amongst the twilight realms, upon symphonies of strings sighing. This was the day I was born. Now as I gaze at their glittering glare my lachrymal luminaries in a symphonic staccato stance. This was the day they returned me home.

like the brilliant sun
irradiating beauties
my own blue angels

“Stealing our breath, you came down to us with angelic grace and you keep holding us under your magic spell” ~ By Poet

A precious little angel is born to us.
Our first grandchild, a bundle of joy,
Sent down from heaven, a blessing!

One look at her cherubic face
Made our hearts race in joy.
She looked at me with wide open eyes,
As if affirming a bond long established.
As if telling me, “Grandma, I am by your side,
To fulfil your yearning for a daughter
To fill the vacuum, you have long been feeling”.

With wonder and joy, we gazed at her angelic face,
- her tiny hands with long tapering fingers,
- her tender feet with cute little nails,
and her parted little lips that quivered to tell a tale.

Baby, you are fresh like the morning dew,
Beautiful like a fairy,
And fragrant like an opening flower.
You push your way like light seeping through,
Into our hearts and thoughts, day in and out!

Sweet one, we cuddle and hold you,
Close to our heart and thoughts,
And entreat God the Almighty to take care of you,
To bring pride and hope to your dad and Mom,
And hold the hands of your aged grandparents!

Ethereal Lanterns

The sparkling spirit of your love,
merges with mine,
dwelling in passages of time, as
my heart sings symphonies of
ethereal lanterns,
beaming upon golden poppies,
while drifting across haloes of
glittering stardust.

Our divine souls flutter full circle,
when light meets dark;
a sacred union amidst
cherry blossom petals,
swirling in a helix of
devoted scintillation,
towards the sanctuary of
our blooming dedication.

This faith in you
is my heavenly glow,
a paradise of hopes and dreams,
swaying to your deific verve—
the gilded moon my spotlight, as
celestial lullabies serenade
this blissful twilight,
sheltered in your cherubic love.

I Griot of the Hamitic Shrine

I, griot, of the Hamitic shrine
I, oracle of the orisha's ebon throne
I, child, of Melchizedek line
I, olive tree in a desert sown
Mantled in the robe of his grace
Amid cherubic beasts all four
Upon golden ground bend my face
And felt his spirit in my core
I, messenger, I, human
I, frightened, shivering thing
I, the image sculpted in his hand
I, with longing for eagle's wing
Voice of the voiceless let me speak
Faith of the discourage, here, I kneel
Ragged in sins and broken weak
And still your anvil on me I feel

Moods

coming out of the frame,
in evening without a sun, unflinchingly,
he said, he was talking to his father
daily, in his mind, who was in grave,
(when he was on ventilator)
about a lesson of deception, about the things
evolved in endogamy,

cherubic, it seems, but there was water on the moon too,
in solitude, on gravel, under the rocks ;
he kept on washing his hands for hours,
to remove the dirt and stigma, gathered on shaking
the lamps around the dark and then he started
collecting the flowers from the embroidery
of clouds

do not cry in the afternoon

Many Faces of Angels

We all relate to angels as cherubic little people but that is not all together true

There are angels inside of tall lanky men who look like they have no care in the world but have had an angel enter their hearts because of their own pain and suffering which has helped to make them such caring and loving people

The rough and tough man who looks like nothing could bother or hurt him who is a sweet soul that has also had his own pain and suffering and would hold a heart gently to keep it from hurting.

The ordinary man who has had no hardship but inside of him there is an angel's heart and wings beating so strongly that you can see the compassion in his eyes

Individuals like this are out there, not outwardly looking like angels, but the angel wings beat loudly and long inside their fantastic hearts

We all assume the outward appearances are the person but the angels are there

You just need to look for them to find them in the most unlikely people

I have seen my share of angels recently and I am truly blessed

Quote: The forest is my loyal friend. A Delphic shrine to me.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
------------------------------------------------------------------------

The forest is my sanctuary, a sphere of peace, a realm of solace,
Dwelling in equanimity, conjuring serenity harmonious, flawless;
Where my heart sings, humming hymns, lauding a tranquil place,
Ringing soul’s sacred bells, echoing reverence of Delphic grace.

Zealous vibes of the forest gleam, vying lure of enchanted eyes,
Whether welcoming avid dawns, lifting with aureate sunrise,
Or greeting dreams of rosy-eventide, themes esoteric surmise,
Mesmerized by art of fuchsia motifs, upon sapphire-blue skies.

In this forest often I find, angelic gifts of messengers divine,
Much alike ancient prophecies, emanating from Apollo’s shrine,
Bestowing blessings of Artemis, proffering halo of healing light,
Where I enter edified, enlightened basking in solitude of night.

Whispers-comforting soothe, life’s anguish in tender breeze,
Strumming rhythms of leaves, conversing with sashaying trees,
As tenor of birdsongs reverberates, propagating tunes of glee,
Where animals roam freely, and butterflies chromatic spree.

Living in the moments inspiring, as instincts erudite, spur me on,
Leaving behind travails of past, and memories-wistful of bygone,
Elevating reveries of morrow, yet, reveling in passions of now,
Content I feel, in offerings of life, pleadings benevolent avow.

Eternal feels its timeless domain, ethereal is its cherubic voice,
In company of this selfless friend, mindfully, gratefully I rejoice;
Reflecting on occult, yet, heavenly eloquence luring my mind,
To decode the message of Delphic lexicons, Apollo enshrined.

On a Butterfly's Back

One spring day,
An angel plays,
A magical play...
She made me sit
On the back of a butterfly...

Huuuh huuuh huuuh
Oye yea yea!!!
Hmm hmm hmm...
I hum...
Hsss hsss hss,
The breeze sings

Hearing our songs
The flowers dance
O, those lovely moves,
dancing angels they are, proved

Put us into a trance
at the very first glance;
Enchanting event,
The angels' dance

Red, blue, orange, purple and yellow
The vibrant colours paint the plain meadow
When my butterfly choses a purple one
The one which is my favourite, I silently grin

Wow!!! Never seen the flowers this close
Oh oh!!! Heavenly hues on their clothes
Couldn't narrate their cherubic colors
"Queens of the earth", certainly they are

Savouring the nectar of the flowers
The Butterfly has got more power
Now she is ready to reach the towers
Hurray!!! The sky is now ours

My soul outreaches the sky
Looks alike, the lows and highs
When I see the Earth and beyond
My wavering mind lands on the ground

When our soul discerns the almighty
Our mind becomes very light
Purpose of life, it perceives
Contentented life it achieves

Will You Be There

Should early morning sunrise skip
A day or two and nighttime stars
All disappear from view, would you
Be there to hold my quaking hand?
When cherubic celestial wings
Begin their white, feathery molt
And fall to earth as virgin snow
Will you be down below with me
To warm and tender through the storm?
If all laughter turned to sadness
And music sounds on Mans deaf ears
Will we ever hear our laughter
Once the teary, tidal waves’
Incursion floods our precious shore?
