The air thick, like a sweet sticky syrup
Sirens wail, polluting the air with chaos
Voices screaming, obscenities, obscure messages
All the while little children play, in pothole streets
Faces everywhere, stained cheeks and bloodshot eyes.

Cries in the light of day, bloody hands wave
Freedom, Choices, a single right
Lost trash, food piles, scattered along roadways
Dirty shoes, dangling over power lines
Faces everywhere, stained cheeks and bloodshot eyes.

Ever searching, an invisible cape, a quick escape
Smells of rotting food, bloated flies
People who cant stop licking their lips,
twisting their hips, and geeking
Car alarms screaming, like a symphony out of tune
Faces everywhere, stained cheeks and bloodshot eyes.

So hungry, empty stomachs, empty hearts, empty minds
Seeking to fill, to satisfy, lapping up milk and honey
Praying for rain, to wash the stench, to hide the sin,
away…
Lost, undone, alone, without love
Faces everywhere, stained cheeks and bloodshot eyes.

Writings of love, of peace, scatter in the rain and wind.
An iota, a seed, a shining light, dimly lit in the night
People gather, curious, watching, many hoping
A gentle voice speaks living words, of life, a better way
Faces everywhere, stained cheeks and bloodshot eyes

--And Raes of Sunlight Kissed My Cheeks

Pale moonlight peeks gently for me right now,
yet it feels bright as day for me
as I think of you—

Cloudy velvety skies cover the glow of moon,
yet it’s still comforting like thick blankets on a cold eve
as I realize—

That is how warm your light is,
since you spread so much love
with your friendship, with your poetic gems

It is almost as if
you absorb Sol’s glow—
Your love for laying out in the sun paying off,
as you emanate that sunny energy
to people you come across with...

Your words have the strength of a warrior,
(A word warrior indeed!)
yet it also has the gentleness of a lady.

Your presence magnetic,
pulling heartstrings
like beams of sunshine
being brushed along a canvas
to paint a rainbow.

I think of you,
especially on this special day
as I celebrate a beautiful friend.

Yes, crickets are chirping
along with me right now...
Perhaps a song for you?
Darkness all around me,
with lights dim...

And yet
smiles twinkle in my eyes

I think of you,
...And raes of sunlight
will always, always
kiss my cheeks.

***Smiles, love and hugs to a beautiful and
wonderful friend.
Happy, happy birthday, Andrea sweetie!!!

Premium Member Fashionable Fall

Fashionable Fall flaunts her lustrous leaves,
catwalks flowing flora with earnest ease.
Haunting lullabies from the quaking trees
cast chilling currents from mountain to keys.

Dancing diamonds of glistening glow
show skies with promise of soon-to-be snow.
Sunrises and sunsets are a fireworks show
scattering the stars like dice in a throw.

Gowns of complementary colors trace
ribboned harvest fields at riotous pace.
Swirling with natural, elegant grace,
her glamor failing and fast losing face.

Tattered trees largely stripped bare of their clothes
leave a psychedelic pathway that flows.
With each rowdy breeze, it gustily blows,
and turns pale snozzle to a reddened nose.

With stinging, shallow breath and crimson cheeks
embrace lacy lakes and mountains’ paling peaks
till Winter steals through Fall and solemnly seeks
favor for upcoming ice-hearted weeks.

Premium Member Roses Are Pink Against My Cheeks

Roses are red, indeed they are.
Violets are blue, in weather, fair.
Where’s the romance of moon and stars?
Need to fill up my reservoirs.

Roses are pink against my cheeks.
Violets are small, a token friend.
The sun, likewise, warms up the weak.
The source of truth - the Son, I seek.

TEARS ON SANTA'S CHEEKS

Daddy's little girl is going.

Daddy's little girl is slowly leaving...

Silent night...
it's what the angels are singing
Outside there are ringing laughter, however--
in a hospital bed
which was cold white as the snow
lies the body of a little girl,

d e a d.

Her little soul just had to go.
She just had to go ahead than the others.
Her once sun kissed face now the palest cream.
Her once twinkling eyes now shut so tight.

The glow of light and love she always bring
was lost on Christmas night,

as Santa stood in red and white
holding a present on his hands
staring at the child
his eyes wet with falling tears

for his little girl has died.

Red Cheeks. ( Both Sets.)

After tossing back too many shots,
My tummy got tied up in knots.
But the outhouse fell down,
now a king with no crown,
I cover up where I must: "Thank You Scotts'!"

Wet Cheeks

in the empty silence

that cuddled me in

cold corners,

i found answers

written on the wall;

with finger nails

and blood stains.

the darkness kissed my cheek

and wiped my tears away

Ella Rosy Cheeks

Her seed turned into a bud the day she was miraculously conceived,
she peeked on a cool February day during the mid-afternoon-
Pink R O S Y cheeks with such brown eyes; it was so hard to believe,
her beauty shined with day beams as her effloresce began to bloom.

days into weeks…
  weeks into years…
    still with R O S Y cheeks…
as I shed sweet mother tears…

During July she blossomed more than any other time I could think of,
she grew taller but still so itty-bitty in complete comparison to me-
Many thorns grew as she transformed into a young lady I dearly loved,
she found independence as she struggled in the breeze to be free.

days into weeks…
  weeks into years…
    still with R O S Y cheeks…
as I shed sweet mother tears…

Time had passed as she met a young man who flourished her with desire,
rain had encountered, yet it nourished their relationship and made plans-
Just about the time her father and I decided to take a break and retire,
she walked down the aisle with a dozen pink colored roses in her hands.

She held such beauty as she closed her eyes with the sun fading into twilight,
in the morn’s fresh dew she awoke with such bloom as her thriving peeked-
The floret of her essence remains a sore eye for my lovely wondrous sight,
for she’ll always be my pure embellishment with those pink R O S Y cheeks.

Rosie Cheeks

When did the children stop embracing
The wind in their hair
Downhill racing, bright orange skies
With no due care
When did they all go home and scrub up their smiles
No longer free spirits to roam
With hours to while
Away with friends down by the railway track
Find a new hiding spot
Sharing cheap wrappered snacks
Whispering secrets
And a fight for their space
What happened to good ole fashion dirt
Smeared as a memoir, now
Replaced
By sterile little ones
Squashed within dry stone walls
Electrical wizardry
Beats, muddied deflated balls
Why did the children decide now
To stay at home
No longer free spirits
Til dusk out to roam
No longer bicycles skipping ropes
And girls chewing gum
High heels on tiny feet
Impersonating mum
No longer unkempt hair pursing their friends
No longer blood brothers
Promised to the end
Poor little ones gaze at a two dimensional spot
Wish they'de step outside
Rosie cheeks the vision that time forgot

Wet Cheeks

The steepness of a hill on memory lane
As sun shines through whispered clouds
as tireder shoulders welcome rain
wet fingers grasp at shrouds
It's always easy going down
And okay to be alone
But only for a while

Your Eyes, Cheeks and Lips

I remember your face
When you not in front of my eyes

Your glowing deepest black eyes
The deepness of which shows our ties
I remember your face
When you not in front of my eyes

Your cheeks which blossoms like spring flowers
That I can keep on staring for hours
I remember your face
When you not in front of my eyes

Your lips! An ocean of nectar
Which I can drink forever
My thirst for it will satisfy never
I remember your face
When you not in front of my eyes

I remember your face
When you not in front of my eyes…

Smile On Your Cheeks

Smile on your cheeks

If you read this poem,
don't let me know,
'cause this one is for me,
and no one else to see.

You!!!
who are reading now ,
I see you smiling,
your smile seems to be happy
I can hear your laughter,
almost hear the sound of your voice,
even though,
eyes are telling me,
you cry from time to time.

you are the smile,
and smiling right now,
while reading this very poem,
you smile like a sunshiny day,
like children's laughter of happiness,
smile from your cheeks,
brings hope to those who are sick,

If you read this poem,
please don't let me know,
'cause it's mine, belongs to me....
that is the reason I have wrote it in the first place,
now that's all I have
to give as a gift,
to you......with all my love
for giving me the best gift ever,
your magical smile,
and, again,
 I owe you big one,
'cause you are giving me more then I can give back.
