Best Capsizing Poems

Void

Void of you
My life is like a wind
Drifting to nowhere
Tossed and turned
By the ragging nature

Your kisses hunted me down
Capsizing and ceaselessly
Plowing my innermost
Drilling my manliness

Void of you,
My life is separated by miles of realities
Stay with me, my dreamer

Premium Member Walking

Walking on eggshells
Tight lipped
Uncertain of every word spoken
Least the tempest
Will be released

Roaring
Waves splashing
Wind storm blowing
Boat rocking
Turquoise water falling

Aimed for shore
Making no headway
Two feet forward
Three feet back
Capsizing imminent

Apocalyptical
Which way will it end
Will there be a future
If I wrangle in emotions
And keep a chain on tongue

Nothing can harm
Wherein there lies
The Holy Spirit
Who my strength
Provides

Always remember
Like in the song of old
Peace, be still
Peace, be still
Peace, peace be still!

Storm At Sea

Strong wind howling from the east
Invading collars and cuffs.
Waves explode like roaring beasts
Of white frothy foaming tufts

Seagulls battle gusting drafts
Eyes ever on the water.
Warning code for small sea crafts
Of twenty foot or shorter.

Small boats being tossed like tops
In danger of capsizing.
Running lights like micro dots
Strafe streaks on the horizon.

Bows dip down into the waves
As they disappear from sight
Then reappear as if to bathe
In the cold grey morning light

The Poet Who Broke My Heart Db, Lb

Me myself and I,
Whoever we are,
You are the poet who broke my heart,
You wrote words of love,
You fitted me perfectly like a glove,
And I really pulled myself in,
Falling for myself, what a silly billy I have been,
Falling for my own words my own feelings,
But what a great lover you, I mean I was,

To the other poet who broke my heart,
LB
You wrote words of undying love,
In a way I somehow connect to you,
With the iron taste on my lips,
Dame girl you’re my drug I can’t resist,
Capsizing my heart like a failed attempt suicide,
You brought me down to me knees,
But it’s time to give up my sweet drug,
I no longer love you,
The poet who broke my heart,

giggles now that was fun,
thank you skat for doing this contest,
this is all made up because LB is a wicked poet,

Premium Member Just Look Within

Trust your heart when it comes to love

The answers are all there deep inside your soul

Like a guiding light in a storm

You just need to look within

Listen to your heart and you'll never go wrong

When it comes to love

We all need guidance now and then

When the seas get a little rough

And we're in danger of capsizing

Look inward for the answers you seek

Trust your inner feelings to steer your boat

Through all the storms to the island of love

There is no better confidant than your own intuition

It's all a matter of learning to trust

And follow your heart wherever it leads you

Trust me, I haven't lived nearly eight decades

Without learning a thing or two about love

I wish you a very happy voyage

Homecoming

Favorite green silk robe
Lying in wait for him to come home
Dinner is ready
The door opens steady
Happy he’s finally home
*
Racing from the car to the door
As soon as my shoes hit the floor
My heart is capsizing
Just now realizing
She’s more beautiful than ever before
*
We’ve finally found our way home
We’ll never again be alone
Embracing at last
Hearts racing fast
Every emotion within a single moan

Premium Member Three Men and a River

Three men went hiking one day
Arriving at a raging river in play
To each other "hey boss
How the hell do we cross
Get on your knees, we have to pray"

So the first one gets down on his knees
"Please lord, help me to cross it please"
Giving him strong arms, strong legs
Never let it be said
Nearly drowning, he now crosses in freeze

So the second who now stands on the bank
Trying to cross, he now throws a blank
To his lord he now asks
"A canoe for my task"
Nearly capsizing he crosses with thanks

So the third asks for intelligence
For his lord to make him see sense
Into a woman he's turned
Read the map she's now learned
Up river, there's a bridge there thence

All That You Were

As I sit on the swing where we used to meet,
Beginning at the start, our memories flow through my mind:
Capsizing our canoe on our first date,
Dancing about your living room in the candle light,
Echoes bouncing off of a caves walls, and
Full nights under the stars with you promising the moon.
Grief tears at my bosom at these rampaging thoughts
Hang in the air. Droplets travel down my dusty face.
I can't help but think "Who will give me the moon, now?"
Jumping off the swing, I head back to my car in the darkness
Knowing the lights will be off when I return home.
Lonely streets great me as I drive towards the cave I live in.
My home greets me but not like a sweet home would.
No, I enter into the heavy shadows that weigh my depressed soul down.
One day more with out you by my side, while I
Pretend that it is all okay. I walk towards my empty bed but I become
Quiet when I see the pictures of us, smiling. Almost
Reverently, I remove the photos off of the wall. The
Suffering is almost unbearable but I allow the paper with memory slip into the
Trash because hopefully in a few months thats all these memories will be.
Under the light of the moon, I get into my bed. I swear I begin to hear
Violins playing their sad music as I listen to the pattering of rain on my roof.
Without you, I feel lost and my body shattered, though an
X-ray would never agree with my concusses.
You are gone but you leaving me left a whole that has been
Zealously filled with pain and sorrow for that is all you were in my life.

Tsunami Terror

In Batticaloa, I lay asleep wide awake
In fear,
the sea sings
Alarmed by every movement, rustle shake.
On the bed, under my pillow
On the edge, edge of the aggressor
The violent waves
A paradise by day
But at night captivating me, capsizing me to the screams of the grave
I lay asleep wide awake
Echoes of the children’s screams
Been swallowed whole by the wave
Praying at with all my might, who will God save?
I lay asleep wide awake, in fear of the tsunami
Wondering my fate
Nature has an army no man can ever make
I lay asleep in Batticaloa wide awake

The Tin Bath Childhood Memory

..~~Childhood Memory~~..
None of us could swim, from the river we were banned
Not allowed near the water without an adult holding a hand
When the adults were busy we went to play
Of course to the river our thoughts oft did stray.

A tin bath we found much to our delight
It would make a good boat so try it we might.
We were not allowed swimsuits as none of us could swim
So it was down to our birthday suits then we jumped in.

We took it in turns to sail in the bath
We didn’t think then of our parent’s fears or wrath
My brother decided a new game to play
Who could capsize the bath best - and still get away?

What fun playing in the hours of illicit gaming.
Capsizing and spitting out water with no complaining.
All went well until I tipped the bath near the drinking tree root
They sucked up and grabbed the bath for a hoot.

I turned the bath over and fell from inside
The tree roots clawed at me from the surface trying to hide
The fingers of the tree reached for me, holding and pinning me tight
The air from my lungs all gone - I never thought I would see the light.

A gasp as air rushed in, I could breath, I could see
And there were my friends and siblings all clapping at me
I had put on a good "act" of drowning they said
I had not the heart to tell them I thought I was dead.

We rubbed ourselves down with our clothes and dressed quick
All crossing our hearts, we would never tell our trick
I remember so well the dark grasping water back then
I learnt to swim quick before I went there again.

Two Sky Lobster Poems

In the autumnal twilight two pink red sky lobsters

in pots are slowly hauled in by black fishing smacks

that are sailing north, while the white sea around

them compete with the black water churning a bluish grey

by the boat's propeller as this gorgeous sky at night closes in.

Two red fighting lobsters chase a black lobster boat

across the autumnal twilight, as if they could trick the

boat into sailing into a whirlpool capsizing the law of

the sea, only for the boats to be saved by the enveloping night.

Migrants

Tears upon tears.
Cruelty upon misery.
Swapping hell
 For the psychotic sea.
Capsizing in infinite night.
Empty silence now ruptured,
As haunted faces
That once knew kindness,
 Wail and scream.
Kick and splash.
Fighting their surrender
To the murderous depths
 and then quietness falls.
But for the groans of a forlorn mum.
 The score will be kept.
Statistics written up.
Reported by the press
Somewhere between the golf
And the latest fashion faux pas.

Perfect Night

Amidst the dark night ahead,
My heart skips a beat,
And dreams turn wild,
For a stranger I met.

He dominates my lust,
And churns up a storm,
Capsizing inner goddess,
Overflowing with warmth.

His true intention is clear,
For love to embrace me,
Hence I listen all night,
To call his name.

Mon Ami.

Premium Member Love Is Lost

Love may be lost in the process of age
and hidden in the miserly sunset
of life, draining like a father's cold sweat.
Oh, that you could absorb my red-hot rage

and exist in a long moment with me
as though life and love were newly begun,
as if it were lace dainty and finespun,
with hopes now aglow on a sparkling sea~

but the sea has become angry and rough
capsizing and drowning us in its wrath;
love is forgotten as death lays its path
and quietude wraps you up in a huff.

In the Dungeon of My Mind

In the dungeon of my human mind
conflicting notions you will undoubtably find
unanswered questions of life unwind
destroying peace, conflict entwined

Offense, defense, perpendicular or parallel
Stagnant memories that linger and swell
Tragedies that have befell
capsizing your internal be well

I offer my paradoxal thoughts to you O Lord
This isn't the vision I want to hoard
Grant me the wisdom often ignored
pick me up, take me aboard

A beautiful vessel granted to my outside human form
transcend my inner space where love abides as norm
In a world where hate is daily ingested
Keep my thoughts peacefully invested

When invaded by thoughts of anger and hate
By your grace guide them to quickly abate
Assist me dear Lord not to berate
Gently guide your love to saturate

Today I will be attentive to the songbirds tweet
Negative thoughts consequently delete
with a melodious song so sweet
In this fleeting moment I am complete
