Storm At Sea

Strong wind howling from the east
Invading collars and cuffs.
Waves explode like roaring beasts
Of white frothy foaming tufts

Seagulls battle gusting drafts
Eyes ever on the water.
Warning code for small sea crafts
Of twenty foot or shorter.

Small boats being tossed like tops
In danger of capsizing.
Running lights like micro dots
Strafe streaks on the horizon.

Bows dip down into the waves
As they disappear from sight
Then reappear as if to bathe
In the cold grey morning light
