Notes About The Poem

Walking

Walking on eggshells Tight lipped Uncertain of every word spoken Least the tempest Will be released Roaring Waves splashing Wind storm blowing Boat rocking Turquoise water falling Aimed for shore Making no headway Two feet forward Three feet back Capsizing imminent Apocalyptical Which way will it end Will there be a future If I wrangle in emotions And keep a chain on tongue Nothing can harm Wherein there lies The Holy Spirit Who my strength Provides Always remember Like in the song of old Peace, be still Peace, be still Peace, peace be still!

Hi Sara, A free verse characterised by clear diction and a consistent honest attitude within. Sound advice expressed with weather-based imagery.🔥✨⭐ A great work. Howard

Your review of my work was encouraging, Howard. It was like that around here a good bit of the time with Cody, our grandson who has Huntington's Disease. Thank you for your time spent here. Sara K. 👍⭐

Our words are to be uttered with so much of caution. Careless words spoken can cause a storm. It is walking over eggshells. It is always advisable to keep the tongue in chains. You have warned of a delicate situation, man passes very often in life due to lack of caution. A poem that warns us if loose talk.

Such a wonderful, skilled write dear Sara and so powerful and profound. You have expressed the feeling of treading so carefully for fear of capsizing so, so well. The picture accompanies the poem perfectly. ‘ lest the tempest will be released’’ and keep a chain on tongue’ - these lines really stood out for me. The uncertainty, anxiety conveyed so well. The last stanza is really poignant. Thank you for sharing. A poem of depth to reflect upon. Blessings to you. :):)

Dear Sara, Ive actually been through this situation, and iv written about it long time ago, so this poem resonates so deeply! Especially about walking on eggshells. Sometimes some circumstances makes us feel this way, always looking over shoulders incase we might upset someone, especially ones with mental health issues, when living with them it can be hard for loved ones. What a powerful poem this is made me think so deep and ponder! And i felt it on a soul level. Sending you light always.

Sara, you wrote a profound and compelling description provided here effectively captures the intricate emotions of anxiety and uncertainty. It is a reflection of the paradoxical nature of progress, where forward movements are often accompanied by a simultaneous drift back.

Yes, Lasaad, those emotions that are the results of not knowing what to do or feeling there is no way out are emotions that can definitely harm us mentally, emotionally and physically. Thanks for the understanding review of my work and the high praise. Sara K

Oh my, this was quite a turbulent poem which can give anyone palpitations, imagining the scene of 'walking on eggshells' and 'turquoise water roaring'..Woah, such intense and powerful descriptions you've given here to express the state of anxiousness as well as uncertainty. When we take two steps forward by always floating away backwards, I could really feel the depth of your words as how life can make us feel stuck and in a forbidden situation..Absolutely loved reading this, sending best wishes!

Hiya, Sometimes in life we get in situations where we don't know which way to go and sometimes we find we are being told to stay in circumstances that almost impossible, however, we know that God is there to help us through. Thanks for the visit and understanding comments. Sara K
