All That You Were

As I sit on the swing where we used to meet, Beginning at the start, our memories flow through my mind: Capsizing our canoe on our first date, Dancing about your living room in the candle light, Echoes bouncing off of a caves walls, and Full nights under the stars with you promising the moon. Grief tears at my bosom at these rampaging thoughts Hang in the air. Droplets travel down my dusty face. I can't help but think "Who will give me the moon, now?" Jumping off the swing, I head back to my car in the darkness Knowing the lights will be off when I return home. Lonely streets great me as I drive towards the cave I live in. My home greets me but not like a sweet home would. No, I enter into the heavy shadows that weigh my depressed soul down. One day more with out you by my side, while I Pretend that it is all okay. I walk towards my empty bed but I become Quiet when I see the pictures of us, smiling. Almost Reverently, I remove the photos off of the wall. The Suffering is almost unbearable but I allow the paper with memory slip into the Trash because hopefully in a few months thats all these memories will be. Under the light of the moon, I get into my bed. I swear I begin to hear Violins playing their sad music as I listen to the pattering of rain on my roof. Without you, I feel lost and my body shattered, though an X-ray would never agree with my concusses. You are gone but you leaving me left a whole that has been Zealously filled with pain and sorrow for that is all you were in my life.

This is beautiful. It really captures the feeling of loss, and the series of images in the beginning really bring the reader into the piece. I love it <3
