DRY MASCARA

Nobody sees through the shadow and the color of my eyes
The times I've cried are the only time you notice the trace down my face
This time,
The sorrow at heart is deeper than anything I've ever penned or spoken of,
an atmosphere of dark film and Revlon
Many times I allowed myself to die, only to return to the living
The numbness of my soul delivers weight nobody can lift

Talk of black eyes, the tale of my life reopens every scar
On good days, the sun seems to stray from where I lay,
Only to reveal the paste that drowns my face
At times I blank out the pain,
the depression compiles the close quarters of my room
Even then, I can't escape every past wound I covered up
Hiding was never the problem, the healing process was

Institutionalized, no longer able to function as a whole
Each cell inside replicates a tight thick wall with no escape
The laughter of nothing sinks into a gulf of tears
With moods more melancholy than most
I press the pain that echoes hard within my head
- I weep
Deep sadness flows with no mercy, no reason
Nothing to cancel out the voices that hush my inner being
In a whisper, I ask for H E L P,
- I bleed
Nobody sees me, nobody hears me, NOBODY.....
The mascara ruins another fake mask

Grief is somber,
a constant reminder to my soul that it can't hide forever
Silence - callous
Until I can't feel anything...
Empty - detached
I felt myself become numb
Emotions gone
I laughed at the end.

Premium Member Get Yourself a Big Black Cat To Cancel Out Bad Luck

If there should be a pot hole as deep as Satan’s pit
appearing as I’m driving, I’d run right over it!

My husband’s luck is worse than mine, but we’re a package deal.
So every bad thing that befalls him, I can also feel!

One day I lost my best cat ever; needing a new pet,
I looked and looked to find a cat, the best that I could get.

One person getting desperate with no new owner found
was feeling sad he’d have to take his poor cat to the pound.

His cat , though not a lap cat, was pretty, sleek and black.
The guy was leaving town; there’d be no way to give her back!

I like to look to numbers for the logic that they show.
Two negatives makes positive; that’s one true fact I know!

So if a person has bad luck, it stands to reason that
perhaps his bad luck could reverse by having a black cat!!

I got that cat! She loudly purrs, which I find comforting
It’s like my mom is right nearby with lullabies to sing.

The cat’s my charm when in my arms; my luck has turned around,
for she’s become the second best of cats I ever found!

So if with many problems you’re always getting stuck,
just get yourself a big black cat to cancel out bad luck!

Black and White - White and Black

Black and White – White and Black

Blinded by a
Lack of compassion
Alone on a silent
Corner watching
Kindness take
A back seat as
Needless prejudice
Drives division
Why does it always
Have to be
Insisted that we
Take sides,
Either…or

When we are all
Human beings
Individuals’ maybe
Though still the same
Existing
Amongst each other
Not a color
Different shades of skin
But people who
Live, love and learn, so please
Accept one another
Cancel out hate
Know peace

Written for The Colors Black and White poetry contest before I realized Acrostics weren’t being accepted. Oh well, thought I’d post it anyway.

The Things I'Ve Learned

I’ve learned that knowing “what matters most”, seldom happens until it’s too late.

That success isn’t measured in dollars or assets, but in the company you keep
and how much you laugh each day.

That if you can’t stay lovers, you should at least stay friends – and if you can’t, it
was probably never truly love to begin with.

That the best friends are the old ones. They knew you then and still see the “real
you” now, even when you try to pretend to be someone else.

That a hug from my son can cancel out any bad day, and a hug from my mother
is still the fastest way to dry a tear.

I’ve learned that accepting yourself for who and what you really are, is far more
exhausting then upholding an image, but in the end the only rewarding option.

That no matter how much living you did or didn’t do when you were young, one
day you’ll still look back and realize it all went by far too quickly.

That few things in life last forever, and the things that do are usually the ones you
never expected to.

That one door closing doesn’t always lead to an open window, nor is one man’s
trash always another man’s treasure – but if you don’t try to find something
positive in every situation, all you get from it is more and more bitter towards life.

I’ve learned its what you did for others more then what you did for yourself that
people will remember when you’re gone.

And mostly I’ve learned that life is full of surprises. Some that make you laugh,
many that make you cry and a few that will change who you are forever. And you
will many times be left with the decision of having to let go of something you
want, in order to get what you really need.

But while life many never be all the things you thought it would be, it is in the end,
no more and no less then what you make of it – and its success or demise lies
only in you and the decisions you make everyday.

Life and Death

Many plan to live for ever
But can only try
Death always visits
No matter how hard we cry

Faith in longevity is ill-judged
Life spans vary
Time rolls by
One day we are welcomed
Another we have to say goodbye

To be distressed about death
Is to want to go on and on
None can out last the end
The biggest question is WHEN

Living and dying are twins
That cancel out each other
Only one can take the stage
But they are eternal bedfellows

The only truth we know
Is that we who live must die
This is our only steadfast truth
Any other idiom is a lie

When we are stone cold
That’s when life stops
An obvious statement
That the daily grind of living cannot forget

Three score ten?
That’s a myth from way back then
You are here one minute
And gone the next
All before you live
The life you thought best

Death is here to stay
It outlives the now
It cannot be bribed
It cannot be bargained with
It just takes as it sees fit
Luckily it only comes
After you have lived

Cancelled

We’ve CANCELLED your job
Immediately
but you have been renewed
to enter a field with a better aim
to CANCEL out your dated brain
to secure you with a daunting task
to invalidate your former mask
of a 9 to 5 mentality
and learn to speak with authority
This is your desk and here’s your job
to remove employees with finality
and CANCEL paid leave temporarily
make this your credo diligently
starting with Mr. Adderley
and when you have reached one seventy
we'll have replenished our money finally
and your job will be CANCELLED
Immediately

Premium Member A Funny One For the Road

I want to write a funny poem
Why does the chicken cross the road?
Because it was tired of the pen
Did you get the joke about tomorrow?
Yeah it is never here
How can you know that you are free?
Because you don't have anything hold you back
Got it?
How can you see things clearly?
It's when you step outside
Huh?
Give just how you get it
That is all you can do
Unless You want to be God
And that - You can do too
In your dream
Dream - amour
What is that?
A mental disease
You need to get rid of it, my friend
Before you become a laugher in your town
My town anyway
Not up to a joke
Well you can be a joker
And the joke is on you
How high is high?
When I can't see anything
Include that which it is down here
Talk about tomorrow
Why would you care?
It'll be here whether you want it or plan it
So save your tomorrow till when it comes
Have your today
I plan to have my today
I don't want my tomorrow
It's too much tasking
And I don't like it
Grrr
Yeah
Grin and bear
You are talking about moi?
I don't bear
And I don't grin
Am I a man?
Lol
Whatever
Two wrongs don't make it right
Who gives a s?
Two rights don't make it wrong either
But do I care?
Nope
Now if you say three wrongs will make it right
Yeah that is when God knocks you over the head
for being so stupid
Yeah
Do I know common sense?
No I am not common
And I have no sense
My nose stuffs up
Gee
By whom the road clears?
By the order of the most on high
- The city crew
Far sighted or near sighted
I can never tell
I just know it is the opposite
Grrr
Be right back
You'd better be right
Slum construction
Why do you have to construct a slum?
Got one to know one
What does two get?
A big zero
Because you cancel out each other
Get it?
Negative and positive?
You are too slow
I am going to bed

Mysticism

i will probably die before you know the truth
before something original ever passes through my lips
about how you’re a ripple in the space-time continuum
a montage of things that isn’t supposed to exist together
a bismuth crystal wrapped in tattered bags
you’re kitsch to me
is it selfish to say that how i see you
is the only sight of you that is true?
you are something unexpected
i entered the dark mine that’s been too feared for years
and discovered that there is something about how crystals are beautiful
that passes through the general atmosphere, unseen
they reflect the light of what is around them
and they bend it
wrapping around necks and wrists
and fingers
and even the rocks that surround them
you’re the reason the antimatter and matter doesn’t cancel out
because you are the embodiment of it
and i will live in you, discovering you, and creating with you
like you’re the Earth
but we will not stay here; we will find our home
somewhere out there
and shoot off this place
like a rocket; like a gun
and put a crater on a land that is as big as you matter to me
you are the sun like a filter over my view
but that’s okay, because you are the view
and you have layers to dissect and analyze
and you will shine bright, nurturing me
the only one who will do so
the only one of your kind in this system
because i’m a distant, dusty mask on a shelf
it is very rare for me to speak to someone and mean it
to float away and stop possessing that mask
and become the ghost that i’ve been
and say I love you
for the first time after my death
for the first time in this distant shape-shifting spying game
it’s not a game any longer
now pull out the tarot cards and let’s create our own
because we are real
and real is something i haven’t been in a while

Mitt Mormon Royalty Romney

Comin' in, his names Mitt Romney Candidate Presidential
Make a little wish and throw your savings in the well
Say's he's gonna drag the US back but drag it back to what
Back from the Economic brink or back towards the missing link

Girls get in line for the kitchen sink

Su Imigración solución? Hacer Ingles el lengua oficial
Must 'ave forgotten his granddad was an immigrant as well
The old Chiefs must be dancing at the hypocrisy of one lot
Of American dreamers telling the next lot they're not aloud to dream

His great granddad was King of the LDS (Latter Day Saints)

Repeal undo cancel out all Obama's done
All good Americans buy a bible and a gun
Repeal undo cancel out Obama's best
Don't agree with what he says
You must be a ****in' terrorist

Rom's approach to the Economy
Is to print a few more Greenbacks
Undo what Obama's done and
Abolish Corporate income tax
He's into wealthcare wealthcare
Forget about your healthcare
Stop blugging from your employer
Buy your own god damn insurance
Or get yourself a lawyer

On National Security his favorite topic
He says don't get me wrong
It's worth talking to these people
But if they wont listen to Salt Lake sense
We're not going to talk for long
The Republicans star Quarterback's
Crystal clear on Social Issues
No abortions
No pink weddings dear
No stays of exicusion

Repeal undo cancel out all Obama's done
All good Americans vote yourself a Mormon son
Repeal undo cancel out Obama's best
Don't agree with what he says
Are you strapping plastic under that vest

So allow me to reiterate

Should The Rom win the coming election
We'll all be getting ****ed by his
Presidential ******** the
Charlton Heston looky-likey's grand plan
Is to help the Mormon Church expand
He'll be sucking the Corporate shlong each day
Even though he hates the gays
And look out Iran its time to invade
The Romnater's leading the Mormon Crusades

God bless the Republicans

Suzy Brown

Everybody's laughing at me,
And as usual I know why,
I look like such a loser
With this streaky blonde hairdye,

Why Mum couldn't take me to
The hairdresser, I'll never know,
Instead she got back from work early
To personally have a go,

She looked upset when I yelled at her
'Cause she can't do anything right,
I didn't speak to her for weeks
'Til I wanted some cash the other night,

At least I bought these cool new shoes
To cancel out my hair,
They look just like Lucy Paris's,
They were forty pounds a pair!

Mum cried when I told her
That I'd been mugged up by the mall,
This guy took all our shopping money,
But his face I can't recall.

"It's because I was on foot," I said,
"Now if I'd had a new bike,
It never would have happened."
So she said sorry and squeezed me tight.

I've been called to matron's office,
Who could be calling me at school?
Oh well, a chance to paint my nails
While I'm waiting on the stool,

Ooh, Lucy Paris is here as well,
I hope people see me with her!
Must reapply my make-up
Whilst matron's in a dither,

Something about my Mum, a car,
Blah blah, the hospital,
What? I get to go home early now?
I can go out shopping, cool!

(works better when you read 'Lucy Paris' after this)

Not Your Fight

Dragging, lagging down this road,
Many things I was never told,
Stumble, tumble to the ground,
Looked up and saw no one was around,
Scraped and bruised... on both knees,
Begging for this disease to seize,
One more breath before I break,
When suddenly I realize You died for my sake,

When I can’t seem to find the words to say,
To cancel out these feelings of dismay,
When all I’ve seen was equivalent to shame,
And tornados wipe right through the pain,
When water washes the frailty and dishonor,
And most thought I was just a goner,
Your whispers penetrate my night,
Speaking out “this is not your fight”
“ I died to fill your life with might”

Holes in souls are hard to bare,
Especially when your scars are there,
Hearts that plead to overflow,
Sometimes bleed and cannot let go,
But through the madness and through the times,
There is only one name that comes to my mind,
Nails that sacrificed for our greater good,
Can relate to my deaths even if He was misunderstood,

When I can’t seem to find the words to say,
To cancel out these feelings of dismay,
When all I’ve seen was equivalent to shame,
And tornados wipe right through the pain,
When water washes the frailty and dishonor,
And most thought I was just a goner,
Your whispers penetrate my night,
Speaking out “this is not your fight”
This is not your fight,
This is not your fight.

Imagine

Imagine
Looking with eyes
All events, everything
From a viewpoint
A perspective that sees all
The broadest spectrum
On a universal scale
Natural, black and white,
If there was a finite
Amount of energy existing
In the womb that is space
Without the influence of fictitious forces
The universe is static,
But if gravity was rather antimatter
Drawing upon and absorbing matter
Producing energy as it does,
Energy and material are interchangeable
With no deviation from the constant 0
Everything seems to cancel out in the end
But time is relative
From a universal perspective
There is no starting point and no end
To a cyclical event,
Matter and antimatter exploding Into
Existence, then snuffing each other out
Would I be wrong of the conclusion
In stating god is energy?
We are in Gods image
Not as humans,
But all life...

Tunnel Vision

In my tunnel vision way,
I can cancel out the ugly variety of things
that live all around me ---
That appear in distorted shapes and sizes ---
In the shadows they dwell ---
Collecting the smallest memories and largest dreams ---
They also steal into my nightmares ---
Highlighting the horrific aspects ---
So I won't forget when I awake ---
As if I could ---
Now my field of vision has narrowed down,
to that of the eye of a needle ---
Unfortunately the world is as big as ever.
