Tunnel Vision

In my tunnel vision way, I can cancel out the ugly variety of things that live all around me --- That appear in distorted shapes and sizes --- In the shadows they dwell --- Collecting the smallest memories and largest dreams --- They also steal into my nightmares --- Highlighting the horrific aspects --- So I won't forget when I awake --- As if I could --- Now my field of vision has narrowed down, to that of the eye of a needle --- Unfortunately the world is as big as ever.

this is so interesting. Tunnel vision implies to not see the "bigger picture" and to lose understanding of people and the world around you. So even though it's good to try to cancel things out, it's a hindrance, and therefore the world remains big and you are lost in it. You are a great thinker. Luv, Andrea

Great poem here. Sometimes having a tunnel vision is exactly "what the doctor ordered". Sometimes I do prefer to have one just to get rid of the uglyness in the world. It's enough I have beautiful memories and "see" them again with the "eyes" of my mind. Thank you, Sheol, for your nice comments . Love, Iolanda
