On Rescuing An Injured Pigeon

ON RESCUING AN INJURED PIGEON
	I.
sliding screen door screeches, pigeons scatter
thump of wing against breast, shockwave breeze
more frequent than in the past, shimmering necks
soundtrack squirrel zig-zags, new-green lawn
perches like the pigeons, await my departure

	II.
he appeared in the night, a tattered statue
grey as the rumbling skies, white patch on his back
must be hurt, too painful to move, teal collar
my compassion swells, how can I help?
leave him seed and water, natural healing

	III.
red-toed demon leaving bird-turd on my deck
can barely walk let alone fly away, railing perch
rain or sun sits most of the day, ruffled feathers
hit his head or fallen, maybe a scuffle with a cat
wants to be part of a flock, I move closer

	IV.
day three I made him a coop, Bucky by name
Becky if it’s a girl, I’m not checkin’, won’t go in
moving better, flies a little, short bursts
still prefers my perch, watch him sleep, still
hours to days, nothing seems to change

	V.
the four-legged’s have found the coop and feed
I become my grandmother chasing chipmunks, futile
Bucky likes grass, hacksaw walk, double-banded
looks strong enough to fly, abandoned racer
wonder, is it psychological or could it me?

	VI.
trail of seeds brought him to the edge, coop and me
as I watch him he watches me, wide ruddy eyes
huddles in a ball on one foot, freckled vest
finally, twice today he found his way to the coop
sad he can’t go home, sheltered but dispossessed.

	VII.
animal rescuer Howard came with a net today
tried clumsily to catch him, lift and accelerate
over the treetops he flew, circled back to land
from the rooftop he smiled down at us, relieved
proof time heals all wounds, in rock pigeon world.

Premium Member The New York Yankees

The New York Yankees have made winning a tradition.
They’ve won for years despite periodic transition.
Since the twenties, the Yankees have won many a game.
Their yearly teams had many players achieving fame.
The most successful team in history is the truth
The twenties decade started out with men like Babe Ruth,
Bob Meusel, Tony Lazzeri, Joe Dugan, Mark Koenig,
Waite Hoyt, Red Ruffing, Lefty Gomez, and Lou Gehrig,
The thirties and forties brought some continued progress,
and it continued into the fifties with success.
There was Bill Dickey, Tommy Henreich, Snuffy Stirnweiss,
Allie Reynolds, Vic Rashi, and Joe DiMaggio.
There was Yogi Berra, Hank Bauer, Phil Rizzuto.
Many more players followed having such great prowess,
Mickey Mantle, Elston Howard, and Roger Maris.
They were full of stars that would win many an award,
with Ed Lopat, Mel Stottlemyre, and Whitey Ford.
There was a short dry spell for some years in the sixties,
but they came back with great players in the seventies.
Having Ron Guidry, Willie Randolph, Reggie Jackson,
Roy White, Bucky Dent, Graig Nettles, and Thurman Munson.
The Bronx Bombers’ tradition continues to today.
Modern-day teams are formidable in every way.
Go see them play at Yankee Stadium night or day.

Haiku

Quietly filling
deep cups of the red blossoms.
 The morning sunrise.

 The rock bowl is full.
Filled by the rain for the birds
 and for my quiet mind.

 Dried stalks of rhubarb
 turn brittle in the summer.
 Born again next year.

 The sparrows come back
to say thank you for their home
 I lovingly made.

 My red dogs eyes gleam.
 Before eating, her eyes ask
 is it OK Dad?

HAIKU; MEMORIES AND OBSERVATIONS and EXERCISES

 Archery
 The strong bowstring sings.
My arrow will find its home
 I turn to sip tea.

 First Love
 How reluctantly
the shy, young man moves forward
 toward the full, red lips.

 First

 In the maiden’s bed
He found his heaven and hell.
 Such was his first love.

 Alone

 Small favor to ask.
Please spread my ashes on the sea.
 No wife, no roommate.

 Who is Buddah

 She poured my green tea
 Until the cup ran over.
 Now, I know Buddah.

 Memory

 Cousin Roni was loud.
 Married a Samoan man.
 They both ate roast pig.

 Memory

 My old friend, Bucky.
Carried a gun in his boot.
 Afraid of himself.

 Old Friend

 Alvin slapped his first wife
and then he married a man.
 I don’t know him now.

 Exercise I

 Diagonally
he crosses the wide, busy street,
 to catch up with love.

 Exercise II

 Vociferously,
 she announces her mistrust.
 Not Republican.

 Exercise III

 She knew the problem.
 Incompatibility.
 He had to learn it.

 All his writing was
 autobiographical.
 He was egocentric.

 SEASONS

 The autumn raging
I am blinded by red leaves.
 Too many to count.

 Surf crashes fiercely.
 Shadows lessen, skies turn gray.
 Winter storm moves near us.

 This Spring, my house burned.
I now have a better view
 of the blue mountains.

 Fresh ink on blue lines
the words come like hungry bees
 to form my Haiku.

 Synch

 Summer. I feel strong.
Equal to birds in the tree,
 and pebbles near feet.

Premium Member Telepathic Consciousness

Said Harvard to Bucky
we feel quite so lucky
your genius on campus
has caused quite a ruckus
but this time we're sure you're less mucky;

And yet we're not sure
which department could endure
your thesis exegetical
your wisdom eisegetical
of what is and is not we're less sure.

Perhaps you're a poet
and the last ego to know it,
you thought this was science
mixed up with con-science,
poetically versed to think and show it.

When Bucky writes meta-physical science
we read him as physical conscience
and that could be fine
it fits with his rhyme
of teleopathic resonance.

There once was a Fuller who prehended
a Special Case universe co-prehensile
Earth fractal embrace
wears polymathic face
as synergetic wisdom's eco-tensile.

George talks about 'Them Cowgirls,"
While Willie's "Blue Eyes Are Crying In The Rain."

Tim talked about "Back Then"
And Bucky admits "It Was A Different Life."

Toby is a "Man Of His Convictions"
But Brad is "Better On Line."

Josh "Stopped Loving Her Today"
But Kenny said "She Can't Be Anything But Mine."
Does that mean one of them will have to "Walk The Line?"

Kenny says "Don't Blink"
Or you may find Tim is "Already Home."

"Tear Drops On My Guitar" has Taylor like Lambert
"Famous In A Small Town."

I arrived "Down In The Boon Docks"
Only to find Rodney was "Going Through Hell"

Rascal Flatts hit the "Long Broken Road"
Telling my Billy "You Are The Only World I Know"

Tracy Lawrence was talking to "The Keeper Of The Stars"
And Lee Greenwood was asking "God Bless The USA"

Toby Keith was bursting with pride as he said "I'm An American"
And John Michael Montgomery was busy sending "Letters From Home"

Darell Worley asks "Have You Forgotten?"
Toby Keith replies with "The Taliban Song."

"Yee Haw" hollered Jake Owens
While Steve Holy "Got A Brand New Girl Friend"

Direks says "Free And Easy Down The Road I Go."
While Tim and Faith were telling each other "I Need You."

Josh asks "Would You Go With Me"
As Dierks Bently agrees with me " Every Miles A Memory"

Kenny C. said "You Had Me From Hello"
But George prefers the "Beaches Of Old Mexico"

I saved this special song for the end.
Alabama's "Angels Among Us"

Every time I hear this song I break out in a cold sweat. Many years ago my
granddaughter Mariah in Casper, Wy was attending the summer camp, on
Casper Mountain, for her boys and girls group. This group included handicapped
children. Friday afternoon the children presented a program for the parents. It
was magnificent. The children helped the handicapped children get on and off of
the stage for their part in the program. The finally began with all of the children on
stage. They played Alabama's song "Angels Among Us" but the children all
preformed it in sign language. There was not a dry eye in the audience. A well
deserved ending to a successful summer camp.

God Bless, Cile

Premium Member The Hills Are Alive

I grew up gay
and singing in musicals.
At the time, these two seemed coincidental,
diassociated,
although in retrospect....

Some dancing too
but with no training in that area,
more about singing.

I grew up with
The Hills are Alive with the Sound of Music.

Then I stopped growing up,
and went about the sometimes cooperative business
of Mastering
Community Economic Development
Public Administration
Divinity (which Bucky would call Synergy)
and certifications
Permaculture Design,

Then I began growing out,
and shorter,
singing The Earth is Alive
in all Six NeuroSenses of Musical Adaptations.

Now I'm growing more deeply
into long term polycultural ecotherapeutic outcome planning,
cooperative economic and political health-investment,
for both interior and exterior landscapes,
polypathing co-elationally
to bicameral rhythmic heart beat and air flow,
dancing a PanTheistic Opera
as synergetically possible
through ReLigious ReGenesis
WinWin co-invested networks.

They are everywhere
once you learn to see through mind-wealth/body-health balance,
polycultural prime fractal energy octaves,
e-squared power = c-squared light
to bicameral eyes, and rooting trees,
well-pitched ears,
listening for EarthTribe sounds of music

Feeling bilateral precessive flow
like a tornado of peak sexsensory synergy
in slow,
sustained,
resiliently re-connecting
resonant love-life pace
of sacred Earth-mind gratitude
for less bad
secularized Anthro-body attitude

Loving the lively hills
and internal valleys
for calming flash mob
unmusical anger management
while dancing
crown/root re-ligious prancing
mind/body amusing skills
musically romancing.

From the California town named Truckee,
Came a roper of calves nicknamed Bucky.
But calves would troop,
Through his lasso’s loop,
He still thought he had talent, just unlucky.

The Super American

WWII has been over for 66 years &
for some reason those responsible for the production of captain america: the first avenger
think that now is a good time to bring back a douche bag
who was originally called “super american”
by his creator, joe simon
(an obviously generic label amongst all the other “super” heroes that was even too much
for the morons at marvel to run with),
& so the captain was born
because
“there weren’t a lot of captains” in comics.

originally this super american punched
hitler in the face & sold almost a million
copies when that first march 1941 issue
hit the newsstands,
capitalizing on a war fervor that was
explosive in the US before pearl harbor had
even been attacked---
super american & his sidekick “bucky” went
on to fight more nazis & the japanese until
bucky died & was replace by “betsy ross,”
the super american’s fbi agent girlfriend---
modeled on the woman who is said to have
sewn the first american flag, betsy did not revive
the dying series,
mainly because the nationalism that was burning bright
during “the great war”
had burnt out during the cold war period &
so the captain & his flag sewing girlfriend ended up
ceasing after 75 issues,
by which time the whole fiasco had been retitled
captain america’s weird tales---
such justice doesn’t happen often,
it is a shame that it took 75 issues to bring it
about.

now that this new film is about to be release out into the world,
given the state of america’s wonderful reputation
(a bit different than in 1941) as the world’s policeman
who stops at nothing to rape this planet of its natural resources,
squeezing every last drop into its own mouth,
one might wonder how the producers of this film expected to
bring in a dime---
isn’t it bad enough that bombs, troops & drones are storming into
other countries?
now we have to throw it up on the silver screen as well?

it turns out that the film’s title is to be changed for release in
russia, south korea & the ukraine
to only the first avenger.

just what exactly is this super american avenging now?

it seems that now the big
bad
boogeyman
is
us & if there was anyone to be
avenged,
it would be
those that we have stomped on,
those that we continue to stomp on &
those
who we plan on stomping on in the future.

My Nephew Bucky

My Nephew Bucky.
You have always been a special one
You made me so very proud
We always had special times and fun
We'd dance and sing aloud.

When you'd fall and get hurt
You'd run to me to stop the pain
and wipe away your tears and dirt
No matter what our love remains.

You grew up to be big and strong
You went to serve our country
Came home safe where you belong.
Knowing you did your best to keep us free.

Then you fell in love with a lovely girl.
Together you have a special little boy
You've made your mark in this world
You fill your family with so much joy.

story behind this poem

His real name is Aaron buckley. but when he was a toddler he had trouble say the L sound in his name so it always caame our aaron bucky. so the name stuck.
He is my sister's son But I basically raised him. He was my first chance at knowing what a mom felt like. When looking at their child. I did everything for him that I could possibly do,to protect him and keep him happy and on a positive path in life.
Whenever he fell and got hurt he'd come running to me to make it better. Even if his own parents were right there. I'd reach down and pick him up and tell him to hug me so tight his pain would transfer to me. He believed it really worked so he would let go when it didnt hurt anymore and then would run and play. It was those types of things that hold a special place in my heart. jnowing he chose to look up to me for guidaance and go to my parents for anything else. Ge;s turned out to be a great guy and one to be proud of. When there are troubles and things he wants answers to He still comes to me for them.
His birthday is the end of this month so i wrote this for him and shared it on facebook with him and his wife. . This poem and the connection I have with him and his wife as well as sharing photos with both of them. Since there aren't any left from my parents' piles. My siblings destroyed everything. My sister deleted me from her page on facebook over it all. So I blocked her so she can't seen anything else I post. if she wants to grow up again then we'll talk. or try to mend the rift she caused to begin with. God knows what is best and who to bring into our lives and who needs to be taken out. sad really.

Premium Member Captain America Vs Adolph Hitler

1941, Captain America and his sidekick Bucky
are tied to events of the WW II era
with many victories over the Third Reich
all very daring and dangerous . . .
but Captain America in a "Nazi" punching rage
     actually punching out Adolph Hitler
that became Marvel Comics most iconic moment
               and controversial too ...
because Adolph Hitler was still alive at the time
it would be like punching out Vladimir Putin today
would that not be grand to see . . .
oh, that Hitler punch . . . a moment still echoing to this day
though, some say that it was a bit brutal
                           for the peaceful and wholesome
Captain America image. . . .but, I say go for it Captain

Premium Member Bubba

Once upon a time, there was a man named Bubba.
Bubba was a good man, always reaching out to
help someone. His life was a life of lessons.

One afternoon Bubba came upon a sparrow named
BIRDY in a parking lot. All of Birdy's family had
forsaken him, leaving him to fend for himself.
Fortunately, Bubba saw him before someone would
have inadvertently run over him in the parking lot.
Bubba picked him up, having no clue what to do with
him. He then lifted and released him to the sky, and
Birdy flapped his little wings and flew away. Bubba
simply gave him a lift which proved to be all that
Birdy really needed.

One day while tending his flowers, Bubba saw
a yard bug named BUGGY caught in the web of a
Black Widow spider. As the Black Widow looked on
about 5 feet away, Bubba freed the bug from the
spider's web. Bubba has often wondered if he should
have left the bug alone and allowed nature to take its course.

One cold and misty morning, Bubba saw a barefooted
homeless man crossing the street in front of him.
When the light changed, Bubba quickly drove ahead
and called out to the barefooted man named BUDDY.
Bubba asked Buddy about the whereabouts of his shoes,
and Buddy indicated that someone stole his shoes.
Bubba then pulled off his shoes and gave them to
Buddy. Buddy was very grateful for the shoes.

One day, as Bubba was looking at his bathroom
floor, he saw an ant named BUCKY. Bucky was
heading West and decided to go North. For no
apparent reason, Bubba tried to redirect him,
but Bucky refused to alter his course. As a
result, Bucky ended up in the web of a spider
and lost his life.

Bubba teaches us how to love all of God's people
as well as God's creatures. To give a 'lift' to one
such as Birdy; To lead others like Buggy out of
'harm's way'; To help a homeless person like
like Buddy; Or try to warn others like Bucky
even if they don't listen. The world could use
a lot more people like Bubba.

A man with a star on his chest and a star on his shield...
Is he fictionous or is he for real?

He goes on missions with his friend Bucky
They fight for our freedom and always get lucky.

Their nemesis is the evil Red Skull
Experiences with him never are dull.

Coming to aid is the brave Falcon,
Fighting with cap all of the seasons.

Then there is agent 13; the lovely Sharon Carter
She's the love interest of Cap, and a little bit smarter.

And the leading agent is the colonel Nicholas Fury
He's always up for adventure and part of the story.

So many people, all part of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Real or not, they are all part of the deal.

Plucky Unlucky

Ain’t nobody here,
but us plucky chickens
Ghetto goose-stepping,
every fare-thee-well welfare day!

Ain’t nobody here,
but us unlucky chickens
Urban legend has it,
that we been KFC set free

Now ain’t we pretty henpeck clucky ...
USA Grade A DOA
prison farm free-range lucky

Ain’t nobody here,
but us Popeye chickens
Been eating that vote spinach,
is why we so weak

Ain’t nobody here,
but us suck-uppity chickens chirping plucky
Urban legend has it,
that we be prosperously sleepy pillow tucky

Now what did we do to be so henpeck lucky
Got more than a few of our freedom feathers skin plucky ...
have a lot of idle yard time so penitentiary stucky

Ain’t nobody here,
but us Church’s chickens chirping lottery unlucky
Bobble prayer head wobble up and down,
looking fo’ mo’ chicken scratch feed green bucky

Ain’t nobody here
but us boatload of liberty cockle-doodle doo plucky chickens
Been eating that stale vote spinach,
is why we still so weak

Ain’t nobody can hear,
us cracked omelette heads getting cut off cooked in kitchens

Guess we fussy chickens clucky
should be golden egg grateful dead unlucky glad
That the good ‘ol foxes
guarding our ghetto henhouses,
let the night howl thief mouses
eat the last peck of pride we sad plucky chickens had
