To Darren - Some Stars Shine Brighter

SOME STARS SHINE BRIGHTER

Some stars shine brighter
Some waves crash stronger
Some winds blow warmer
Some days are lovelier

Some friendships are eternal...

During our lives we meet a lot of people
But some will conquer a special place in our hearts
They'll be the ones for whom
We'll fight a little harder
We'll cry a little stronger
We'll cheer a little louder
We'll worry a lot over

They are the ones
That will always be there for you
Laughing with your happiness
Holding you during your tears

Some are in the same city
Others on a continent away
The distance doesn't matter
For we carry them always
In our minds and in our hearts
So they're never really far away from our thoughts

So my dear and sweet friend
Thank you for allowing me in your life
For always be there for me
Thanks for being my rock

You've a heart of gold
The most beautiful soul
Your light shine thru your poems
Your care and attention thru your words

I'll be always here for you too
Cheering for you every step of your way...
Take care of yourself and come back to us fast...

And... never forget...
To just be yourself
Because you're simply perfect
Just the way you are...

...and very much loved, my dear friend...

Love you, Darren

The Brighter Light

I walk in darkness many times,
not knowing to turn left or right;
there is a light, a glowing ember,
toward the light I have greater sight...

I seek and I search for all its meaning,
why it follows, why it sometimes goes;
I seek it scarcely in times of strength
and cry for its presence in times of woes...

I am aware that it can always live,
inside of me, flowing ever bright;
all I need is an open heart
and a forgiving soul to power its might...

My walk in darkness need never be,
if I remember to always shine like He;
for loving and forgiving are above all else,
in the ever-present glow between Him and me.

O' The Many Things Brighter Stars Have Seen

O' the many things brighter stars have seen
through the long ages of our hopes and regrets
lives, loves, losses, and all the in between
all of the all, humanity begets!

O' the sights, lovers basking in moon light
sweet memories that one may think divine
under star-lite gaze, its Heavenly sight
dearest kisses, signaling all is fine.

O' the grace felt in soft, gentle night's breeze
its healing power to heart touch and save
begs romance that sings, blossoms into ease
passion's truth, serenity's path it paves.

O' that life would bring its happiness true
With smallest of hope within me or you.

Sonnet

Note: This new sonnet born from first stanza comment made on
my having read both Nina's blog titled, What Rhymes
2: Cross-Border Disorder and then my immediate reading of
M.L. Kiser's new poem, titled, "Stars Above".
I got started writing and I simply could not stop.....
Dedicated to you my friends , Nina Parmenter and M.L. Kiser
because your words given and sweet verses inspired
the creation of this piece.

Premium Member Dream Analysis - There Is a Brighter Side 3

Watching Blackie
Counting sheep
His heavy head
Flops into sleep
Soon enough
His ears do twitch
Muffled barks
Some fervent sniffs
Then his paws
Begin to stir
Muscles ripple
Beneath his fur
I imagine
What canines dream
Chasing sheep
It would seem
Just then he stops
But doesn't wake
Legs out stiff
Like a rake
Eyes snap open
Lets out a whimper
Long and low
Near a whisper
I call his name
To wake him up
He jolts awake
My loyal pup
His crazy dream
From my analysis
A serious case
Of Sheep Paralysis

Premium Member Purr and Pat - There Is a Brighter Side

Purr came crying one day to Pat,
"I'm black (sniff), and a 'bad luck' cat,
No harm I mean to souls around,
But seeing me, they turn around,
I want to play with them like you,
But shoo me out is all they do,
They say I'm (sniff) evil and black,
No, I ain't ever going back."

Comforting Purr, Pat hugged her tight,
Said, "Everything will be alright,
I tell you black is beautiful -
They know it not - how pitiful!
You're not bad luck, you are a charm,
You're daring, dashing and no harm,
I'm sure you'll win their hearts, my friend,
Ev'n if not, I'm here till the end."

Purr hugged Pat back with love unfeigned,
She knew ~ true friends are colour blind.

Premium Member The Sun Will Shine Brighter

The Sun will shine brighter tomorrow when
We treat one another civilly again...
When kindness, courtesy and grace
~ Once more ennoble our race...

The Heavens will smile pleasingly when
Men and women guard their tongues and their pens...
When modesty trumps 'fashionable nudity'
~ And the latest style on the rack is humility.

There Is a Brighter Side

A sheepdog who was really quite confused
not sure how to herd or just what to do
first day on the job
surrounded by a mob
of sheep who felt the same way too,

He'd run one way the sheep the other
till they swarmed upon him like a cover
they stood on his feet
he said ouch, oh bleat
feeling like he was going to smother,

Squashed like he was in a sardine can
he poked his head out wanting a new plan,
he barked I quit
give me kibbles and bits
this sheepdog's about to go on the lam!

Waiting For a Brighter Day

There is hearsay of a brighter day
And if it does come my way
I hope it will stay
While the time whittles away
There is no game to play
Struggling with life's daily melee
All I can do is pray
I wont be lead astray
By the things that outweigh
Like the debt of sin I must repay
Only I can defray
With little time there can be no delay
Gods word I must obey
And his love I will never betray
For then he will take away all this dismay

Premium Member Brighter Tomorrow

a brighter tomorrow

do you remember blue,

back in the days when whores
were temple women
welcoming stranger and friend alike
into warm passionate embrace
in the service of the mother goddess?

when making love was not a shame
but a joy of celebration
and defiling the land
was a sin against the creator
because it was the body of our mother
who brought us here, fed us, clothed all
and gave beauty free for the looking.

blue, myriad blue is disappearing

sky and sea no longer shine
they choke as cancerous lungs do
whores are sinning
for someone else's change
and nickel-dime corporate hacks
buy blue on the black market.

Guide Our way to a Brighter Day
What I thought I cherished must only perish
The beginning and the middle
Ended in a self serving riddle
Broken remains
Of a Dream yet to Be
Of a Higher Love
For You and Me

The Western world will breathe easier when Kim Jong Un
starts the denuclearization of North Korea.
And the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin gives
Ukraine back its lost peninsula of Crimea.

There will be celebrations worldwide when Israel
and Palestine stop the hate and settle their dispute.
And the constant threat of war is no longer looming,
for both nations' right to exist is deemed absolute.

The world will breathe easier when Bashar al-Assad
ends his civil war and finally leaves Syria.
And the militant Islamist group Boko Haram
stops raping girls and is driven from Nigeria.

Democracy will win when President Donald Trump
is exposed and reduced to a political quirk.
And global warming's threat is taken seriously,
so the fate of our planet is not left to guesswork.

Brighter Days Ahead

the days are getting brighter
as i stuggle along my way
my steps are getting lighter
as i wake to face each day

my tears they still flow
and my heart it beats the same
until someone we know comes along
and they mention your name

but the nights pass a little more better
and sleep it comes in time
i know he will never be back
and he,ll never again be mine

FEELING SHEEPISH

I’m learning to be a sheep dog
But sadly they’re stuck in a bog
One second they’re eating
The next they’re all bleating
A shepherd I truly am not!

My tummy it started to churn
Our owner said that I must learn
to silently creep
and round up his sheep -
my attempts he said he won’t spurn

My power I soon learned to wield -
I returned all the sheep to his field
When they hear me bark
The sheep have to hark
I’m ruling; the sheep have to yield!
