Brighter Tomorrow

a brighter tomorrow

do you remember blue,

back in the days when whores
were temple women
welcoming stranger and friend alike
into warm passionate embrace
in the service of the mother goddess?

when making love was not a shame
but a joy of celebration
and defiling the land
was a sin against the creator
because it was the body of our mother
who brought us here, fed us, clothed all
and gave beauty free for the looking.

blue, myriad blue is disappearing

sky and sea no longer shine
they choke as cancerous lungs do
whores are sinning
for someone else's change
and nickel-dime corporate hacks
buy blue on the black market.

Wow, this is a deep write my friend! You are right, you should have posted this later, or earlier than Hefner's death, oh well, what's done is done! But I get what you mean by this incredible poem, Great Work!!

Thank you Russell. The poem, I thought was rather simple in the comparison of beliefs some 25000 years ago before Patriarchy and now with Patriarchy. I realize that is a stretch but I have read many books on women's studies, Archaeology and Anthropology so my ideas are not unfounded.

Hi Patricia, another WOW over here. So apt and so controversial in contemporary short sight. Yes, we have lost the plot and you say it oh so well. At last you have a face. Now I know you will stick around for a spell.

Thank you. I hoped it would be more about the changes in human thinking and action. Oh well best plans and all. That was a complete coincidence. Oh my name is Patricia lol lol I know terribly formal and all that but it is what I prefer.
