A twinkle in her eyes tonight
evokes the thought that they invite,
though I recall, not long ago
my absence seemed more apropos.

The laughs that linger on her lips
bare more than many verbal slips -
the times they pierced me, sad and grim,
lie in the past, though far from dim.

She flayed me once... nay, more than twice,
she flayed me both with flames and ice,
and once again, predictably,
she primes me for catastrophe.

Our friends and foes naively watch
her try to carve a deeper notch,
for even they don't seem to know
the depths to which she'd really go.

Upon my face a pose appears
which hides my thoughts, obscures my sneers,
for now I too have learned the rules
from her - ah, yes, the best of schools.

Because I'm acting somewhat cool,
thus pouring on her fires, fuel,
she burns and yearns and wants me more
than when I was her cuspidor.

She (unbeknownst, I'm not the same)
pursues again her guileful game.
But when her tears descend and swell,
will she be proud she taught me well?

The others leave, I stay behind
(they all know what she has in mind) ,
embrace her in my arms once more,
beguile her through her bedroom door.

She whispers secrets in my ear,
as I once did (she didn't hear);
I listen, flash some mirthless smiles,
my thoughts adrift to desert isles.

The night is passed, her trusting grows;
I leave before the morning glows.
Aroused, she'll seek a waking thrill
but find instead a dollar bill.

With a silence that cut through the laughter
She entered the room, bitterness
Edged around her features, portraying
Cruelty with an unfeeling sword of darkest
Gloom, dread so dismal it feels, almost,
Like grief sinking into the bones
Sullenness coughing up phlegm that rots
In the heart, the soul, the mind
Where there is a penetrating hostility

Her eyes glared at the laughing children
Echoed cynicism through the air
Like a poison dart piercing the heart
Her hatred tasted of a sourness
Only the very truthful could attest to

She was hard and her icy stares forced lovers
To pull away from one another, chastised
By the coldness that left chills on the mind
Resentment fell from her pores, sweating acidity
Imploring hope to be cast aside for disaster
Calamity so dreadful it was as fatal as a stab wound
A trepidation so repulsive with its awfulness
It feels like being in a nightmare,
Terrifying

When she looked at me, though…
I saw through the cool, calculating gaze
Into the heart where there had once lived
A child of five, all giggles and smiles
Alive with the joy of silliness, …
I saw, beneath the ice in the veins
The warmth of a heart who was living
… with excruciating pain

The Bitterness

Lord Jesus, I have a prayer
and I want You to hear it.
I really need Your love
and I need the Holy Spirit.
There is really one thing
that You can do for me.
Help me go way back.
Deep in my memory.
Help me remember the hurt
and help me remember the pain.
Help me remember how it felt
and help me remember from where it came.
Release me from these chains.
Help me crawl out of this hole.
Heal me Lord Jesus,
from what the bitterness stole.
I lost so many years
that I will always regret.
Take away the pain and hurt.
I want to forgive and forget.
I also ask You, oh Lord,
as You return what I lost.
Help me remember also
all the pain that I caused.
Is there anyone I hurt.
Someone I'm not even aware.
Help me remember them Lord.
I need to show them I care.
Let them know that I'm sorry
for everything that I've done.
Please God, I ask their forgiveness
in the name of Your Son.
If there's anyone I've hurt,
Jesus, please help me to understand
that I need to heal that hurt
that was done at my hand.
I ask to be forgiven Lord,
and I pray You help me forgive.
I want to turn the pain and hurt into love,
so I can finally live.
Bitterness creates an empty heart
and as you pray to the Father above,
say, "Jesus please take our empty hearts
and fill them up with Your love.

Kiss To Bitterness

UNSUPPORTED CODE

Cry the Bitterness Out

Cry the bitterness out, sweet girl
The blame will poison until the river
Bleeds out, runs clear
The vast machinery of peopled robots
Follow in their trains…
Oh, get entertained!
Threaten the sane
Believe in the unthinkable, just cry
To let the mind drain, then fly,
Until no more words are left
Flush the ego down the toilet
For the babies, the ones unborn
And us. Till we no longer think
About the crying, or the laughing,
We can’t tell the difference
Jump into the mud to see
How dirty we can be
But most importantly
Cry, and divert the mind
Ridiculously, just be alive!

Bitterness

Bitterness is a black pool of bad poison
And when it liquifies it saturates once warm and loving hearts
Leaving them ice cold, ill and frozen
Whoever it has chosen they chose bitterness first
It is more awful than anger with it's slow soul corrosion...
Like a creeping mad curse
It's voice speaks the next verse leaving it's listener feeling justified but still jaded and jagged
Like a sour off key symphony of souls...shattered spirits too rough around the edges...too raw and too ragged
Truth tellers can tag it...still it's victims claim it's a virtue and never a vice
Take a word of advice!
Get rid of that garbage before your days turn darker and your sad life soon decays
Give it to God! Get on your knees and pray

Out of Bitterness Came Sweetness

Out of that ugly, cruel piece of wood
Ushered a sweet aroma, but by a sword
The Creator nailed by and on His creation

Offered a perfect sacrifice, for my perfection
From lands beyond afar, he descended

Boldly He came by divine steps of love and landed
In sublime compassion He stared at a lost soul
The whole world drenched in darkness since the fall
The devil stretching the blanket of wickedness
Entering the earth in love, animals congratulated
Room in the Inn could not be found, so congested
No religious people liked him even Priests of Pharisees
Even some of their own Rabbis and Sadducees
Sold for only 30 pieces of silver by the son of perdition
Suffered in the cruel hands’ that’s no Word contradiction

Carried the cross of my sins in deep agony
And drunk a bitter cup of my deadly iniquity
My saviour got an inflicting piercing pain of a head gear
Ended up with no vestures nhas they all wanted to wear

Sweetness sprung up out of that immense bitterness
Weaknesses swallowed and overcome by boldness
Eternity to win he enslaved death and took of its stinger
Entered hell and preached to souls in great torment
Then up with victory he arose like a real torrent
Now with keys of hades, he came up with him those saints
Eventually graves opened, triumph now reigns
Sweetness now floods my once troubled soul, he arose
Secure from all bluffs of the devil, his scream I oppose

Root of Bitterness

I have things burried
Deeper than the bottomless sea
Deep sea divers have found my arrogance
What if they knew the depth of my soul
And things burried from bitter root
And the inventions of lies
Lies that break covenants and heart
I sing for severed ties
The pain that would not let me speak again
The betrayals that would make me hate
The shame I could not wash away in rain
I have things burried
Deep, deep, deep inside
And this burial makes me love still
It is a long forgetfulness
That I may laugh and do your will.

Past Our Prime

I liked it back when we were thought a pair
And held in high esteem by lovers all
Who envied what it was we seemed to share
when we were also fooled within that thrall

As actors lose themselves in parts that call
for reinvention on a stage set bare
We played our roles as partners till our fall
I liked it back when we were thought a pair

How long then were we blindly unaware?
Imprisoned to ourselves behind a wall
Over which the outside world would stare
And held in high esteem by lovers all

Did they not sense our soaring passion stall?
Did we pretend because we didn't dare
Betray our lie to those who held us tall
Who envied what it was we seemed to share

Rituals and habits were our snare
We once long-striding lovers forced to crawl
till only rote and duty lingered there
When we were also fooled within that thrall

Their crushing expectations left us small
You took all else I was, to my despair
what little hope I had is in your haul
If others need that from us, I don't care
I'd like it back

By all means, forget how to be bitter,
For bitterness will eat your innards out
Make you as unpalatable as kitty litter,
And turn you into a disagreeable pout--
Destroy it … if you ever want any clout!

Bitterness

Bitterness

She secluded in her room to relish her ritual
A bracing cup of tea she concocted with the little available
Emitted an audible sigh routinely abysmal
Sank into elongate meditation,nothing abnormal

The ethical doddering lady had long been achingly critical
Of our unequivocal iniquity and detestable
Of societal homosexual unions categorical
Carnage on behalf of God intolerable

The over-the-hill lady once,to meet her approval
Bid her relatives to benefit her corpse a decent burial
Abstain from grieving and weeping on her funeral
Rather deplore their destiny tediously controversial

She couldn't bemoan a life where survival
Echoes with betrayal, bribery and pronounced scandals.
                  Abdelwaheb Dhaou.

Sweet Bitterness

It has been months that have passed
Yet rage I still keep enclosed within
it embodies my morals , my happiness
and fears.

I haven't been able to escape it
I look in a mirror and see me trapped
frosty glass this Bitterness is my new
reasons to laugh

Why do they have to add additional salts to
scarred tissue. Arent I already hideous enough
what kind of ridiculous intervention would make
me more brutal and relentless

Bitterness

No bitterness, better than me
No measurement of sour, nor apple pulled off
No old man on a corner talking to himself
No old story
No hurt that hadn’t hurt already
No cause for sounding off
No worse than you
No reason for all the things said
No worry, when no one worries, when I’m dead
No reason
No reasonable rhyme
No worries while I’m
No wonder. . . out of time, with
No bitter. . . less. . . than what I left behind

He sinks further into bitterness
with each sip of oblivion.......
slurping....gulping grudges and blame
with every malicious mouthful.

He remains suspended in cynicism;
hurtling missiles of misery mixed
with murky twisted memories in an
attempt to justify his tangled truth.

Untruths in reality, but his realism
is unreal.....swishing, diluted by
the destruction of hate; imbibed with
one more beer or glass of Merlot.

How sad this man frozen in animosity.
What a waste of precious time.
Life languishing in antipathy.
Pathetic intemperance.......

Put that bottle down sir -
drink this instead, savour it,
smell the bouquet, Beaujolais...
swallow the future, and spit out the past.
