Best Becca Poems
I'm so happy I checked-out a recent e-mail from the Soup
By doing so, I was privileged to read some of Becca Teagan's
work, I know I may have gone over the top with my
little tribute, but I write what comes to me.
I never say this lightly ------"She's a MUST read"
You're far above that upper class
Unique among themselves
Most I view as Top Drawer Poets
But you my friend, Top Shelf
You're the bell of the ball
The cream of the crop
The tip of the tip
of the tipious top
The shine on the shoe
The stick in the tie
The ultimate answer
To that old question "Why?"
You're the crown on the Queen
The jewel of the Nile
You're Aces to me
Cause you write with such style
Don't shy when I say
You're the best of the best
I've strained all the soup
And I've read all the rest
You write like an Angel
With paper and pen
You know what to do
So, just do it again
My pen strives to flow,
saturate virgin fibers
crisp, cool and clean,
desires to spread
through virtuous threads
with thoughts, reflections,
colors from within -
yet at any given time
I’m tempted to resign;
my thoughts are faded,
my ink runs dry.
When your mind is weary
and words silently suppressed
like an empty fountain
your muse drains with scarcity -
take my palette,
let your artistry flow,
Illuminating barren scripture.
With you, my colors shine
more richly, my ink flows
to satisfy my need
to touch, and be touched
by beauty.
Together
we observe in clear definition
as unblemished pages
are no longer innocent.

Bye -Bye Becca good- bye, but why, it’s not clear?
How can we dance if you leave my sweet dear?
You’re a big girl; your life, your choice, your year
Come with me and enjoy the dance and cheer
How can we dance if you leave my sweet dear?
Time to let loose, take your first batch of beer
Come with me and enjoy the dance and cheer
Would there be a chance, will you consider?
Time to let loose, take your first batch of beer
Ignore childish gibberish their insignificance
Would there be a chance, will you consider?
Just keep in mind you make a difference
Ignore childish gibberish their insignificance
From time to time risk is necessary
Just keep in mind you make a difference
Respect you deserve in your sanctuary
From time to time risk is necessary
You’re a big girl; your life, your choice, your year
Respect you deserve in your sanctuary
Bye -Bye Becca good- bye, but why, it’s not clear?
It is so frustrating having everyone always telling you what you could or couldn’t do

unmetered Pantoum
Where once a gentle poet penned her heart,
we look upon a sad and empty page,
there - common thoughts became embellished art
and hungry thirst for passion was assuaged.
So oft our search for peace takes crazy turns
to where we find a tempest as we lay,
and not the kindred meadow that we yearn,
instead, a love that hate and wrath betray.
Yet, lingers there, a pensive hungry soul,
and from within that passion strives to sing;
so close to shore, so close the barren shoal -
perhaps she'll hear the harbor bells we ring.
She IS the poem, she IS the "Fire's Glow",
"The waves of pure intensity" that grow...
(The quotes in the couplet are from Becca's poem "I Am Poetry")
To The Loveliest Lady At The Soup
Oh, lovely Becca why must you wish to go?
Please stay one more day at the Soup!
Your verses so beautiful with perfect flow,
please stay and be part of this group.
I too have days so dreary and confusing,
which door to choose when unsure-
You’re a winner in my heart and never losing,
let me tell you what the Soup is good for!
You see, here is a fellowship of other poets,
all trying to reveal intimate expressions-
You hold a true gifted pen and we all know it!
You have taught such good life lessons.
The Soup can be anything you wish it to be,
an outlet for emotions bottled inside-
A chance to rid yourself of life’s debris,
oh Becca, come back and please don’t hide!
We can travel this journey together,
write collaborations just you and I,
My only wish is you stay here forever,
just keep your wings spread and fly!
I know where you are coming from lady,
when circumstances change our view-
Becca, please come back, don’t say maybe,
for me and so many others adore you!
To Becca! Please stay at the Soup!

Becca, Dear Becca,
say it ain't so!
I hear that you're leaving and
from Soup you'll go.
You have many friends here,
who think you are a gem.
Don't listen to the haters.
You're so much better than them.
In fact, you should stay,
as they are probably just jealous,
of your sweetness and talent -
for poetry not pettiness they should be zealous.
Becca, dear Becca,
say you won't go!
You are a beautiful writer,
and loved more than you know!

For Jerry T Curtis "bye bye Becca" contest
Dear Becca, I am sending you,
this letter in verse from my soul,
giving you a piece of my heart.
Why wrap your poems up,
all the lovely fragments,
all the layers of beauty penned,
that soothed the heartbroken?
Are the winds blowing you relentlessly?
You have poured out your words like rain,
built up others, whispering kind words.
I whisper to you now, please stay,
gently, I want to convince you,
that endless storms come and go,
inflated egos and twisted images,
those with evil souls cannot touch beauty.

Becca Teagan I’ve heard that you’re leaving
My stomach is now churning and heaving
Salty tears start to flow
I don’t want you to go
You are loved here and now I am grieving
Dear Becca you are part of this group
Just take a break from poetry soup
So please take a rest
Then come back refreshed
And the souper’s will be cock a hoop!

What, pull up a chair now, and sit down with you?
That’s a lovely idea, I like it, I do!
I’m due for a break and the boss, he won’t care.
Yes! Hold on a moment, I’ll pull up a chair!
Now as for that salad, well . . . I’d rather not
I’m not much on rainchokes and wassava’s hot!
A sharkflower topping? No, let me suggest
Our Brazzul Bean Sampler, now that is the best!
Oh, this is great fun, but I’m sorry to say
We’re all out or lardines, at least for today.
But you’re right, it won’t matter what food we eat
Just sitting beside you is such a good treat.
Do you come in here often to the Cat Hat Café?
(So sorry, that long name’s just too hard to say)
Do you still have some room for that cragberry ice?
On a slice of green muffin, now that would be nice!
What’s that you say, you’ll be staying a week?
Then you must join us Sunday for some Hide-n-I’ll-peak!
Thank you for sharing this time and your lunch.
Will you join me tomorrow for a chat and some brunch?
after "Please Pull Up a Chair" by Becca Teagan
Sweet Becca Lucas told me recently
My silliness makes her roar
Confided though, if given the choice
Prefers my serious poems more
My comfort zone has always been humour
Find humour in almost all things
A cockeyed look at this sad old world
Every morning I'm ready to sing
Till Becca confided, I was unaware
My serious poems made a impact
After all these years on this planet of ours
In life, experienced most aspects
Just chug along now in my own domain
Hoping to improve the outcome
So hearing a comment like Becca just made
It made my old heartstrings hum
Thank you Becca for your thoughtfulness

Bye Bye Becca
Rang through my ears in hell
I had to do the dishes now
But couldnt do them well.
The mopping and house cleaning
Looked me in the eye
Becca lift that pen and write
But all i did was cry.
Who will drive the children home
And polish off the car
I used to write, I used to dream
But now im just a fallen star.
Wake up Becca, wake up girl
I shot up with a start
Oh forget these mundane things
And pen with all your heart.
Poem by Farrah Veronica Sinha
She's the princess of the sonnets, the counter of your feet.
and if Shakespeare lived today he would need to keep it neat.
Them syllables best add up, and they better be well stressed.
But the best thing about Becca she will always help.
No na from our Becca because you forgot the date .
It's just genuine encouragement from Becca, because she's ace.
So come on Becca Teagan don't leave us on our own.
My sonnets would be more like limericks
and my haiku quite a mess.
comp entry 1909 in case your not as nice as becca
Not only doctors can heal
A writer too can bless a soul with motivation
Our readers are the souls sent to us to heal
No matter how small or voluminous your words
It could be someone's turning point
We are humans too
sometimes we want to drop the pen
and lie down on the beach, smelling the ocean
we want make more time for our responsibilities at home
but we have readers waiting to be motivated back to their dreams
because just like doctors, writers too heal
and writing is a calling
And if you leave Becca...if you stop writing your beautiful words
you leave a void only you can fill
because every poet, writer, has their unique way of healing
Let's continue writing Becca
Let's continue healing
Above all let's continue motivating
With this i plead you to continue writing Becca
because it's a destiny.

B : what are you talking about ?
M : 60 seconds
B : right.
I miss my friend Becca
Even before she is gone
She had thought this a safe place
Free from conflict
Judgment
A place where all can freely express
Where have all the past poets gone
Do any of their words still echo in our minds
Do they disappear into obscurity
Who is left to sing their praises
I will sing for Becca
I will stand up for my friend
I will stand beside my brother Freddie
I will continue to breath their words
Feel their hearts beat within my chest
They matter
They command my attention
Their words and spirits have significance
So I will miss my friend Becca
I will shed a tear for a heart that is broken
For good friends are hard to find
She is worthy of being missed
Today I say goodbye
I wish for her to live in a land of smiles
A place where dreams are realized
She deserves no less
She offered us her best
The essence of a soul
Expressed through precious words
I miss her already
Before she has gone
Maybe it's not too late.
Dedicated to Becca
