“WHAT IS A SAD DAY IN AMERICA?”
It is a “Sad Day” in America when you wake up every day worrying about being
black, educated and female.
It is a “Sad Day” in America when you wake up every day and there is a new battle.
It is a “Sad Day” in America when you wake up living on the outside of the
American Dream, but you live within America and you have nightmares about
walking in the shoes of another race in your view.
It is a “Sad Day” in America when Civil Rights begin to regress over 40 years.
It is a “Sad Day” in America when you have to worry about what religion or
denomination you belong too.
It is a “Sad Day” in American when the words “I can” in the word American does
not represent “I can because I am free.”
Instead it becomes an obstacle because others continue to suppress me---
because of my race, religion, sex, ability or disability?
It is a “Sad Day” in America when we accept mediocracy.
It is a “Sad Day” in America when we cannot accept our fellow man or fellow
woman.
It is a “Sad Day” in America when others cannot hear or see.
It is a “Sad Day” when we can no longer show empathy.
It is a “Sad Day” when all we do is “nothing”.
The “Glorious Day” will come when we learn the history of others, walk with
others by empathizing with others and consider ourselves brothers and sisters
in “One America”, one fight, one battle, one love-- until that time “it is” and “will
be” a “Sad Day” in America.

Written words by James Edward Lee Sr.2025©
as the dawn light fast approaches,
as emotions they run high,
Are we paying lip service to the fallen,
do we ask ourselves why?
Why did young boys pay the price?
Why oh why did they roll those dice?
Those from wretched circumstances came,
Why did those young boys die?
As they play the last post solemnly.
As all heads are bowed to the floor,
On a frosty winters morn,
The colour red shines to the fore.
So as we think of Tommy Atkins,
Who gave his life off in the war,
Why oh why are men still fighting?
If that was the war to end all wars.
Thank You Sally
For almost 30 years I’ve been trying to loose this weight,
So obviously, I have been putting all the wrong food on to my plate.
I have tried almost every diet that has ever been invented,
Slimming book after slimming book I have read,
Atkins, Low carbohydrates, High Proteins to name but a few,
Even the F Plan that keeps you on the loo,
The High protein almost drove me to drink,
The Atkins is supposed to make your breath stink,
The Body Clock was extremely hard to do,
Having to eat more than half of your food before two,
Then I reached the point where I didn’t really care,
Food was turning into a complete nightmare,
I was just getting bigger and bigger,
There was nothing left of my figure,
I looked more like Mr Blobby,
Eating my lettuce leaves that had all gone soggy,
Then I joined Weight Watchers for the first time in my life,
To see if they could sort out all this strife,
There I met a lady who filled me with inspiration Sally was her name,
Helping us all to loose weight was her aim,
Sally was there through the good and the bad,
Although some weeks I felt extremely sad,
When I had gained a pound or two,
Stuffing my face with chocolate because of a blew,
On December the 17th 2010 when we broke up for Christmas,
I made my resolution, to come back after the break weighing less,
I bet my husband £3.00 that I would,
I was going to do this, if I could,
So I came back, after Christmas and new Year,
Two and a half lbs lighter, Santa brought me some new gear,
Now only a few more lbs to go,
Then my whole new shape will be on show,
So thank you Sally for all the help you gave me,
Tonight I reached Goal, now I am the weight I want to be.

O young Lochinvar is come out of the west,
Through all the wide Country this guy they detest,
And save armpit noises he talent had none,
He thought they were funny and thought they were fun.
He thought that his 'talent' would make him a star,
But no one did care for the young Lochinvar.
He left San Francisco and charged straight ahead,
To Lower Manhattan is where he was lead,
But ere he was granted his first interview,
Producers were tipped-off and everyone knew,
His act was so silly and really bizarre,
They wouldn't audition the young Lochinvar.
Yet boldly he walked into Carnegie Hall,
And tried to astound them and tried to enthrall,
He made armpit noises and tried to impress,
(The day was quite sunny, but here I digress),
They dropped him in feathers and rolled him in tar,
'Twas nearly the end of the young Lochinvar.
"I won't be discouraged", he told them that day,
And then made his mark as he waddled away,
With sticky black footprints of feathers and tar,
He walked to the corner and bought a guitar,
Thinking, "I will be wonderful, I will go far",
But life would get worse for the young Lochinvar.
He took a few lessons, the Chet Atkins way,
With that and his armpit he started to play,
The audience booed him and tossed him outside,
He fell on his ass and it injured his pride,
And Lochinvar whispered, "Twere better by far,
Had I stayed with the armpit and scrapped the guitar."
He went to a bar and he drank a few beer,
He thought it would help him and give him some cheer,
But all it did give him was heartburn and pain,
And from that day onward, was never the same,
He'd never be famous and never a star,
'Twas the end of the line for the young Lochinvar.
He moved back to 'Frisco and rented a room,
Was the height of the Hippies, with flowers in bloom,
At Ashbury Avenue, corner of Haight,
They thought he was wonderful, thought he was great,
Now people throw dollar bills into a jar,
It's life in the '60's for young Lochinvar.
Thank You Sally

remember when recent-psycho-in-the
brief-spotlight, Texas Gov. Ricky Perry,
smiled at the camera in the debate o’
repuglicans & couldn’t remember the
3rd branch of government that he told
the nation watching that he would eliminate
once he became president?
remember that this ******* had nothing to
say but “oops,” after admitting to wanting to
get rid of Education & Commerce---because
he couldn’t think of another valuable thing
to get rid of & Ron Paul sarcastically offered
up, “the EPA?”---
this same man also told the nation that he
had no regrets, that he “never struggled to
sleep at night” with the thought that any of the
over 200 more people executed in his
state (than the others in the US)
had been innocent---
after all, he is a proud representative of the
cowboy state that had to be forced by 2,000
federal troops to finally free their slaves in
1865 & one might not be surprised to find
him wearing a “don’t mess with Texas”
belt buckle, when he parts his suit coat.
a few nights ago, another man,
Mr. Marvin Wilson, age 54, whose IQ of
61 (9 points below Texas’ own cut off of 70
which determines one is mentally retarded) did
not even make a bit of difference to Mr. Perry &
the bloodthirsty behind him, was executed
without forensic proof or eyewitness accounts of
the murder of which he was convicted of in
1992---
Marvin was a grown man who sucked his thumb,
bearing many intellectual inabilities, from “telling
the difference between right and left” to “handling
money,”
still, disregarding Atkins v. Virginia (2002),
in which the Supreme Court posited that people
with mental disabilities rendering them incapable of
understanding their own actions, should not be
executed,
TEXAS DID IT ANYWAY.
one wonders if conclusive DNA evidence was
discovered years from now, exonerating him
from the crime of which he was convicted,
beyond the shadow of a doubt,
would Mr. Ricky & all the repugs still sleep
soundly?---
need we even take a vote?
7 are already dead in 2012 Texas, campers:
3 African-American men,
3 Hispanic men &
one white guy…
AND MORE ARE SCHEDULED
FOR THE REMAINING MONTHS OF
2012,
SO GET YOUR TICKETS NOW!!!
COME ON DOWN TO TEXAS,
BRING YER’ WIFE, BRING YER’
RUGRATS & PULL UP THE BACK OF
A TRUCK.
“gawd” bless this “democratic”
&
“civilized”
country of ours.
Look at Tommy go.
See Tommy fall,
row after row.
Cut down by Maxim guns.
Sacrificial victims for the Huns.
Remember September 11th
Signed legislation, equal access, public schools and mobilized troops.
Supreme Court Justice Warren, controversial some would say, provided a goal of unity,
the removal of stigmas, fair competition, birth of global recognition and a future for the
spirited ambitious, the motivated and the entrepreneurship.
911
Terrorism, tragedy, illnesses, women and men of good deeds, financial wills, heirs , war
and mobilized troops indeed.
A blow to it all, the young, the old, the rich, the poor, the working, the unemployed… the
skilled, the unskilled, our service members and our vets as well as some committee bills,
but mostly the future of America’s youth…. onto a system of restructuring wages and for
some of us enduring exploitation to make up for the loop.
Ranking 27th, Lower five, a time for the nation to realize, status quote can be no more for
the circle is full and it has closed.
The future is your vote like a Clef Sign on the staff and the rest will flow like a great
symphony from the past , yet to be numbered because it’s not the last and the people’s
opera will take the stage…we will restore the two decade old history page.
To participate, to live, to fight for the already established route, come one, join all, rally
and acknowledge your rights.

Oh thou, am I colorless?
The world is lit.
The light does shine.
As with my ancestors, freedom shall ring and freedom shall be mine.
The light has burned as a message throughout time.
The light is love and the love so does and so will continue to shine.
The light comprises more than we see with our own eyes.
One must learn with the mind.
Theoretically and scientifically my skin absorbs the light, in practicality, I am colorless?
, but some judge me by the color scale they have came to know.
How pure is your heart? Is it gold?
The whole can be seen as white or light, it too can be colorless. Can two be the same as one?
Oh thou, where does logic go?
Those whom seek the understanding of light, seeks the truth for so it holds.
It hasn't changed from centuries ago. Oh thou, where is Aristotle, Socrates and Plato?
Let there be no mystery about the light for the day of darkness is when it's extinct.
The light can and will be seen, for it reaches from shore to shore , from coast to coast, the light maybe seen from underneath the heaviest doors, my light ----- yes, my light--- is like my soul.
All are parts of the whole?, Oh thou, where is Aristotle, Socrates and Plato?
If a circle ends were it begins then what of “Alpha and Omega”? Oh thou, their work remains--- Aristotle, Socrates and Plato. Who are the "Great Thinkers and Philosphers" of today?

I’ve been on every diet known to man
Atkins, Lemonade, Cabbage and f-plan
And I’ve never lost a thing worthy of mention
But I try every new one, full of good intention
Now I'm on the Whisky diet, which I’m taking steady
And do you know I've lost three days already.
A spirit as fragile as glass
A soul virgin in depth
As innocent to the world as to him or herself.
A stranger to emotions, a vessel covered in flesh and a unknown purpose here, on this earth
to be discovered , yet.
Circumstances surrounding his or her conception is not known, but the child is a "gift" from
one... to two...then back to one.
The Child is "joy" whether a daughter or son.
A world commanded by nine and not by ten, created of three, defined as one.
Let the writer's write about the child's world in view and inform the Gatekeeper to prepare to review .

Rondelet: Democracy
"I'm fed up with democracy. In a democracy, people vote for the mayors. I wanted to build a city where I will choose the citizens." Emir (Nemanja) Kusturica, director and scriptwriter (with David Atkins) of the masterpiece: Arizona Dream (1993).
Democracy
One vote cast is carte blanche cast out
Democracy
Feeds small men constituency
The one-vote majority clout
Enough to send tough troops all out
Democracy

The Walk
An elected position walks into transition, but not without apprehension.
Thrusted forward into accountability, a " word" that was lost in recent financial history.
Blame and blasphemy encircles him for others greed, carelessness, incompetency and
irresponsibility.
Unlike the blind man to our today's society, anger creates a false reality.
A "change we can believe in", is the course called destiny.
Persecution upon every action or direction met with resistance by those who remain held in social captivity from their own personal experiences or enthralled perceptions of " what ought not be".
Prepare the world, for the world is watching and they see, that without corruption
and a massive scale of discrimination , injustices and judgments as their plea, they are not happy nor do they believe that they can or that they will succeed.
May forgiveness and mercy find it's place upon his adversaries as well as for him whom they do this unto in the sight of he.
People, we call ourselves, "we"; therefore, "we must not lose focus , the walk for change remains on our compass to destiny and real facts vs. opinions will be our guide for future history.

Grace was born with Erb’s Palsy, it's a nerve condition,
Which means she struggles with her arm and shoulder,
But now she’s a rower LTA mixed cox four, Paralympian,
Coming from Sheffield, training at Caversham, boulder.
For her dissertation with the hearing University of Leeds,
She wrote about how the mass media portrays disability,
And so found out about a SportsFest which had leads,
A sports talent day which could forward her sports destiny.
The GB rowing team continually called Grace, contacted,
So she decided to give it a go ‘cos she was unemployed,
And in the Legs, Trunk and Arms category she was stated,
And has never looked back with all her happiness deployed.
With rowing mates sometimes of MBE holder Pamela Relph,
James Fox, Dan Brown, Oliver Hestor or Oliver James,
She enjoys the team challenge which gives her total health,
Also trains with Nottingham Rowing Club to make her aims.
In 2014 and 2015 at the Worlds in both Holland and France,
Grace’s team came in first position giving the primal scream;
In 2015 at the World Cup in Varese in Italy’s canal dance,
Her team returned with the gold and lived the envied dream.
And they did it again in Rio when they won again the gold,
Grace’s original coach was Dez Atkins, currently Tom Dyson,
She rises early to row in the morning waters extremely cold,
And so eats a 2nd breakfast of eggs from the chef’s kitchen.
