"I heard an angel speak last night and he said 'write'" Elizabeth Barrett Browning
T here was a cemetery across from the street where I lived when I was young.
H ot summer days could find us there strolling down its winding shady pathways,
E ven racing bikes or playing Hide ’n Seek among trees and ornate granite stones.
B eyond the wide middle part of that graveyard, way in the very back,
L ay a secluded area set apart for the deceased of a prestigious family.
U ltimately my siblings and I ended up at the mausoleum in the center of that spot.
E ager to view its main attraction, we would stand on tiptoes before its window. . . .
A ll kinds of angels were scattered throughout that cemetery's sprawling lawn, but
N ot one outdid the angel appearing violet blue through that stained glass window.
G uarding the tomb of a small child, she knelt gracefully, her true hue pure white.
E ventually after years of showing her to friends, I left home forever; on my mind
L ingers this memory; on tiptoes, I'm marveling, face pressed against blue glass.

Edible, plentiful,
Easy to prepare, and
Extra tasty when fried;
Easter bunny brings them.
Eager children find them.
Elliptical shaped shells
Embody earth and life!

Luxuriating on my brand new veranda
Enjoying time out with my pup Beau
A breeze whips up the dry foliage blanket
Vivid shades of scarlet, orange and dark ecru
Eager pup jumps up, quickly followed by mum
Scampering in those crispy leaves is such fun!

Immanent, at the heart of blood of the One who made
Me, I am part of the great I am, the flesh and bone of His
Magnificent creation. As concrete as the firmament of earth,
And as solid as the moon and stars that exist in the sky.
Nascent as the first rose of summer and first newborn child
Every fiber of my body is connected with tissue and brain.
New to this interplanetary home I often exist alone,
Transcending the overpass of life sometimes, go beyond.
Yet the lessons I have learned in this lifetime have been slow
Eager to experience the comforting light of the au de la,
To a higher order I have entrusted my journey towards home.
Transcending time and space I fly towards the Universal hub of
Reincarnation, checking my Akashic records and knowing that my
Algorithms have been installed in me long before I was born.
No greater joy on earth than moving upward and beyond, in a
Sacred manner. I breathe in, hold my breath, then breathe out
Climbing up the invisible ladder of spiritual success and
Enlightenment. All of His philosophical teachings given through
Nacre moments of pure intent. Like the Mother of Pearl when the
Dharma wheel turns I follow its winding path, without push I
Ease into the shift and become one with the Omnipotent Light.
Nascent as the first rose of summer, a first newborn child,
Trusting I will be well received, on the other side....

Aboard a barque, across cerulean seas,
Beneath boundless skies, chasing destiny's pleas,
Came courageous colonists, yearning to be free.
Dreams danced delicately in the salty breeze,
Eager eyes seeking sanctuary.
Founding fathers forged a future fair,
Guiding principles etched in granite grand.
Hope hummed, hearts held with fervent prayer,
Igniting liberty throughout the land.
Justice juggled scales, ensuring each had say,
Kindness kindled compassion's gentle flame.
Love labored tirelessly, lighting the way,
Mending wounds woven into history's frame.
Nature nurtured, nourishing spirits bold.
Opportunities opened like sunlit streams,
Paths paved with perseverance, stories untold.
Quilts of cultures coalesced with care,
Respect resonated, reaching every shore.
Sacrifices sung in the starlit air,
Tributes tendered to those who went before.
United under a banner bright and bold,
Victories vanquished shadows of despair.
Weaving wisdom into stories old,
Xenophobia's whispers found no space to share.
Yearning yearns for a world where all can thrive,
Zooming toward a future where dreams survive.

Home Sweet Home
Home is where your heart resides
Obliging to everyone’s needs
Memories that are made and
Embarrassed with spiritual growth
Shared with sunshine smiles
Warm hearts and hugs
Echoing rooms of children screaming and fighting
Eager to play hide- and- go-seek or camp in a
Tent in the living room pretending their out in the woods
Home is a place where family’s dream of little
Ones spreading their wings
Motivated with enlightening love and
Encouragement a place to feel safe

B eneath the cloudline shines one star that greets
R adiant flames with a murmured drawl,
E ager to shimmer on, yet dusk time fleets
A s winds peal their ballad to enthrall…
T ill glints the orchid like a jewel
H eavenly in the amber of light,
T eetering near the edge for a hued flight
A nd pearl its brightness reaching star’s cell …
K iln of glitter spreads on a marquee, where
I ridescence leaps its twinkling climb…
N ever a sight this breathless , this rare
G lorious oh nova and bloom… sublime!

H azily, as nightfall glides ,I unlock the front-gate
O verwrought from drills of a riddled job,
M y toes stumble on scented violet buds
E nhancing gripped thoughts to drip-drop away.
S omehow, Mom’s roast chicken trails along
W here piano notes soften the blues… and there,
E merging through a hall; Oh Granpa appears
E ager to spend a ritual of my life’s rhapsody;
T urning my drones into an abode’s breezy song.
H eartfelt jousts ring to nourish time’s warmth,
O ften soothing an outer world, restless… yet this
M erriment flames brightly in this safe refuge,
E ver precious as restful chants of heaven’s lyre.

Heroic Couplet
Angel has fallen from the top of the tree
Broken baubles lay strewn by the door
Christmas chaos caused by the cat
Damaged branches and lights on the floor!
Eager hands clear up the mess
For today we should rejoice
Glorious news that baby Jesus was born In Bethlehem
His birth is the reason we celebrate on Christmas Day.
Icicles may hang on trees like icy fingers
Jack frost will try to nip our nose and toes
Keep well wrapped up and try to stay warm.
Lots of lovely food adorns our festive table
Many hungry tummies are soon to be filled
No, I can't possibly eat another mouthful ….
Overeaten and now we all want to fall asleep!
Presents are unwrapped; hear the whoops of delight
Queen’s speech is on the television at 3 o’clock prompt
Repeats of films we love to see every year –
Sound of Music and a James Bond film are always on!
Time to go outside and enjoy the fresh air
Underfoot the snow is crisp and deep
Verdant gardens are dusted with sparkling snow
Winter is a wonderful time of year.
Xenops is a bird we won’t see on our winter walk
You may be lucky to see a robin redbreast
Zigzagging through the swirling snowflakes.

F ervent emotions quietly flow through my contented heart
O ver the love I feel when watching you in peaceful sleep.
R esplendent reveries of you, I lovingly recall from our start.
E nchanting was the moment we first met; a memory to keep.
V elvet nights we spent together, gazing at the stars above.
E ach one seemed to whisper, "You fit like a hand in a glove."
R adiant was their illumination as we realized, 'this is love.'
I mpassioned by desire, I have been smitten by your charms.
N akedly bared is my heart when you hold me in your arms.
Y ielding is my soul, for you captured me with a glance.
O ne look from your sultry eyes and I was mesmerized.
U nited in matrimony, we share the rhythm of love's dance.
R omance as genuine as ours is to be treasured and prized.
E ager am I, my darling, to wake you with my sweetest kisses.
Y et, I hesitate to rouse you if you are dreaming of loving me.
E nticed by my hunger for you; what sensual temptation this is.
S tarry-eyed when you wake, is the look I'll always long to see.

Speaking only kind, constructive words about others,
Prioritizing peace among earth's sisters and brothers,
Remembering green practices, essential to our lives,
Easy as the benign habits, of honeybees in gilt hives.
Always eager to give more than likely to be received,
Devotedly loyal to a loving God, who's never deceived,
Indelibly making being good neighbors a huge priority.
Nurturing friendships helps create a friendly majority.
Generating sunny smiles, giving generously to charity.
Habitually being punctual, for it is only good manners,
As important at dinner parties, as to bold city planners.
Protecting the wild animals and their valuable habitats.
Pursuing knowledge endlessly, for knowledge attracts!
Imagination is wonderful to have, as it is never boring,
Not like the tedious, humdrum, that sets all to snoring.
Eager to do the best job possible-it makes things work.
So many things might go wrong, if each person shirked.
Stimulating dialogue, instead of quarrel, is ever a perk.
