Notes About The Poem

"One nation under God, A – Z" is a patriotic poem that celebrates the diversity and unity of the United States. It highlights the courage and resilience of its founding fathers, the importance of justice and equality for all, and the enduring spirit of hope that binds us together as a nation.

While acknowledging the challenges and divisions that exist, the poem emphasizes the shared values and common ground that unite us. It encourages readers to embrace the richness of our diverse cultures, to honor the sacrifices of those who came before, and to strive for a future where all can thrive.

I hope this poem inspires a renewed sense of patriotism and a commitment to building a more just and inclusive society for all.

One nation under God A to Z

Listen to poem:
Aboard a barque, across cerulean seas,

Beneath boundless skies, chasing destiny's pleas,

Came courageous colonists, yearning to be free.

Dreams danced delicately in the salty breeze,

Eager eyes seeking sanctuary.

Founding fathers forged a future fair,

Guiding principles etched in granite grand.

Hope hummed, hearts held with fervent prayer,

Igniting liberty throughout the land.

Justice juggled scales, ensuring each had say,

Kindness kindled compassion's gentle flame.

Love labored tirelessly, lighting the way,

Mending wounds woven into history's frame.

Nature nurtured, nourishing spirits bold.

Opportunities opened like sunlit streams,

Paths paved with perseverance, stories untold.

Quilts of cultures coalesced with care,

Respect resonated, reaching every shore.

Sacrifices sung in the starlit air,

Tributes tendered to those who went before.

United under a banner bright and bold,

Victories vanquished shadows of despair.

Weaving wisdom into stories old,

Xenophobia's whispers found no space to share.

Yearning yearns for a world where all can thrive,

Zooming toward a future where dreams survive.

Amazing use of both alliteration rhyme. I'm not from the US (been there only once), but I think this poem speaks of ideals all should strive for.

Well said, Joel! I love the "z" line. Truly we strive to achieve a more "perfect union" while not forgetting the courage of those in the past. Turns out both of my families came to the US in the 1600's before our country was a country and they both fought for freedom. I do believe your poem will stoke the fires of patriotism as you remind us of the sacrifices made for the US. Thank you for sharing it. I enjoyed it very much. Blessings to you.

Sam, thank you so much! That means the world to me. I'm thrilled you connected with the poem, especially the "Z" line – it's one of my favorites too. It's wonderful to hear about your family's history and their fight for freedom – that kind of personal connection to our nation's story is exactly what I hoped the poem would evoke. I'm so glad you enjoyed it, and your kind words are truly appreciated. Blessings to you as well

Very nice, Joel! Not many fear people from other countries, but instead look for peace, love, kindness and all to be the lay of the great land where they live. God bless us everyone.

Such a noble write Joel and excellent use of alliteration. However, the Revolutionary war (essentially a rebellion) along with the virtual extermination of indigenous peoples are parts of the true story that cannot be ignored. As far as brotherhood, unity and fulfilled dreams, tis but an illusion. People are divided like never before in human history. Infrastructure is crumbling. Morality is at an all time low. Hope dims. I believe 2 Timothy 3:1-5 is undergoing fulfillment before our very eyes.

I read it. It's a nice fantasy, but the reality is far different. This doesn't take away from the fact that you wrote a nice, idealistic poem

Tom, thank you for your feedback. I understand your perspective, and you raise important points about the complexities of American history. 'One Nation Under God, A-Z' is a poem focused on the positive ideals and aspirations that have shaped the nation. It's not intended to be a comprehensive historical analysis but rather a reflection on the enduring hope and unity many strive for. Perhaps my author's note provides a bit more context for my approach.

Then dreams will not only be fulfilled, they will exceed our wildest imaginations…as you said, Tom, for indeed Christ is all inclusive of everyone who comes to Him! Amen and Amen! ~ Kim

The good news is the end of the nightmare of human independence from God is almost over. Then dreams will not only be fulfilled, they will exceed our wildest imaginations
