Premium Member Absolute Truth: How Can it Be?

Absolute truth, both mystery… and paradox.
“You make me wonder if you exist or not?”

The Greeks glimpsed you in circles and squares,
The medievals revered you in scriptures and prayers,
The moderns doubted you in so many facts and proofs.

Absolute truth
your a hidden treasure in the dark.
I’ve been searching for you with a lantern and a map.
Absolute truth, a misty mountain peak,
We’ve been climbing towards you
with a rope and a pick.
Absolute truth, a real puzzler
    and a wonder.
We’ve been solving you with a clue and a key.

The enlighteners searched for you
     in nature and reason
The romantics sang about you
     in passion and vision
Whereas existentialists certainly questioned you
     in freedom and action.

Absolute truth: are you actually still alive and relevant today?
You’ve been inspiring us with
     your beauty and your grace.
Absolute truth, you are most diverse and multifaceted.
You’ve been expressing yourself
in every culture and every race.
Absolute truth, you are so complex and yet, paradoxical.
You’ve been challenging me
     to question and embrace.

The analytics dissected you in symbols and many signs.
Whereas continentals explored you
     in history and culture.
Yes, those postmoderns deconstructed you
     in relativity and plurality.

Absolute truth, you invite us to seek
     doubt, affirm, and critique.
You show us the value of
     curiosity and humility.
Absolute truth: you challenge us to
dialogue, dignity, listen, respect, and appreciate.
You teach us of the importance of
     diversity and empathy.
Absolute truth, you call us
to transcend, transform, love, and willingly serve.
You lead us to the ultimate goal of harmony and peace.

The scientists explain you in matter and energy,
The believers proclaim you in faith and grace,
The artists create you in beauty and meaning.

But the needle spins wildly, a chilling impart…
"Absolute Truth is a compass with a broken heart."

Premium Member Tell Them Now

If you appreciate others, tell them now,
While it still can add to their sense of self-worth.
To wait is a mistake many make because
No one knows how much time they have left on earth.

If you admire her kind generosity,
Or how he selflessly gives to those with needs;
Letting them know sooner rather than later,
Encourages them to do other good deeds.

Gratitude has positive ripple effects;
Expanding circles - lives we affirm and touch.
Avoid regrets about dearly departed,
By telling them now they matter and how much.

Premium Member Great Escape

Good night my playful heart, waltz merrily in fairy dreams
Reveling in memories of beloved blissful blossoming springs
Engaging her wishes in music of gentle whispering winds
Ascending to ecstasy, eliciting elatedly what romance is
Traversing the night-sky, stargazing in her doting company.

Exhilarating in her imagination of euphoric utopian abode
Sketch for me what you mean by paradisiacal place on earth
Captivating sensuous desires longing to inhabit Elysium,
Affirm to my anxious world: fantasy never dwells in sorrow
Playing for her on keys of piano, pleadings of my eternal hope
Ecstatic to awaken me, when she acquiesces to call of love.

Premium Member I saw God, but now what

Line of enquiry:
Yes, I affirm, I have seen God
But He appeared and then disappeared
This knowing that transcends mind, left me awed
But until what’s imbibed is assimilated, by fears I’m seared

As death whispered gently into my ear,
a divine light appeared flashing in white.
Was this a mere delusion to cause fear,
or was my soul preparing to take flight.

Teardrops bled to this soothing sacred gaze,
as I prepared to be summoned back home.
Life had left me lost in an endless maze,
with no desire to find new roads to roam.

But in this fleeting moment a voice spoke,
"it's not your time, so alter your outlook."
That was the juncture where my spirit woke,
changing the mindset of what I had mistook.

Blessed with heaven's touch of eternal grace,
fears faded in my heart, where faith found its place.

Line of inquiry:
Yes, I affirm, I have seen God
But He appeared and then disappeared
This knowing that transcends mind, left me awed
But until what’s imbibed is assimilated, by fears I’m seared

Once, I was so
very sick, and
I almost died,
and wandered
hospital halls
lost ... broken.
Until- I found
a quiet room
just for praying
so, I sat down
and opened a bible placed on a table looking at different Psalms, Verses.
Soon, I felt another person in the room, a man sitting beside me quietly.
He turned to me taking my hand and I knew it was God. I thought that
my time on earth was over. But, he stroked my hand and holding it told
me I had things
still to do for him.
That it was not
my time .... yet.
After, I got well
I never forgot
what God- said.
Now, I do things
very meaningful,
things for .. God.
I help the poor
and help animals.
I try to be kind
every single day.
And say prayers
each new dawn
I read this in the
bible- Isaiah 43.
When you pass
thru the waters
I will be with
you ... and thru
the rivers, they
will not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned,
and the flame shall not consume you. Even Jesus holds me when I am afraid.
So, I saw God's face and it was beautiful and felt his love and that is my why.

A - Anarchy

A. Anarchy

Amber autumn aflame
An aroma of ash appeases the adamant arsonist; the artful anarchist
An audacious attempt at attacking back at our arbitrary accommodations
The ascended advocate us to abide as they affirm their advancement through annihilation
An abstract artifice, artificial affirmation of all aspects
Treated like an array of aliens in our allowed acropolis with the armor turned against us
Most amused with their asinine aspirations and amaurotic attractions
A few too apprehensive to argue and ask for an alternative, afraid of any altercation
But the agitated and annoyed assemble, ascertaining truth through awareness at every angle
Amateur acts of anger arise and accelerate, accompanying their adverse assault on our amendments
The alliance ablaze and amassing, anticipating an apocalyptic ambush
Absolution remains absent and anger becomes anxiety among those abandoned
The affluent assure abolishment for the average and all under

Soul Seeks Its Maker
(Scent of My Soul)

Soul seeks its maker for great relief
from grave doubts in spiritual belief
Mysteries sent to tantalize the mind
journey forth the true light to find

Little voices singing in ones head
suggesting other dark paths instead
My Soul giving its answer so firm
only the light I seek can ever affirm

Scent of my Soul floating in my heart
each beat grants it a newborn start
As my heart slows for a restful sleep
my brain journeys forth into the deep

Destination unknown, course rightly set
spiritual butterflies caught in my net
Answers are given in the flapping wings
Soul given rest as beauty stirs to sing

Music springs lovingly in rhythmic time
thoughts and joys given so truly sublime
My Soul then wakes to each newborn day
with love and its spirit holding sway

Line of inquiry:
“Yes, I affirm, I have seen God
But He appeared and then disappeared
This knowing that transcends mind, left me awed
But until what’s imbibed is assimilated, by fears I’m seared”

Once I felt the power of God
It seeped into me like lightning,
Illumining the track it traversed
It settled somewhere down,
Within the vibrations of light and sound.
In my heart a delectable music swelled.
My life was deluged with song.
His guiding light led me through devious paths.

When was it that I lost connection with that power?
It happened gradually without my knowing
In course of time, it got veiled and eclipsed,
By the darkness of worldly desires.
I was caught in life’s swift current.
Wishing to stay afloat, l drifted,
Into the midst of peripheral comforts,
Like one chasing the deceiving mirage of the desert

My ego bloated like a balloon
I walked on stilts that I forgot the feel of my feet
I felt the stream of love narrowing into a trickle
And then drying out completely.

I was busy making money
In my mad rush after power and pelf,
I threw my values to the wind
Soon storms began raging into my life.
I was befriending gnawing anxieties and strangulating fears.
My dreams shattered like glassware
My world lost its rhythm and I lost my calm.
Life seemed to go on, leaving me behind
Never more I could endure the desolation
That hovered over my me like a dark shroud
Like a mother's despondency at the loss of her child,
An emptiness enveloped my spirit and being.

I knew it was not too late,
To recover all that I lost.
I decided to trace my steps backward,
And travel in reverse gear.

In all earnestness, I turned my downcast eyes heavenward
Soon I started breathing with greater ease
I began getting healed in love’s gentleness
Binding me to God through an unshakable bond

Like sunlight arching through the dark
Once more He came into my life to light my interiors
Now he resides within me, not at the periphery as earlier,
But deep down as a living power, changeless and timeless!

Premium Member Sea Shanty

The sea
that surrounds this narrow land
floats its salted scent across
on a misted wind.
It calls to us,
a rolling song
of a thousand voices,
swallowed
by its merciless depths.
They chant a crashing chorus
of ships and sails,
prayers and fishing nets,
protesting
their watery fate—
as if to affirm
their seafaring souls,
which are never lost,
but summon their
earthly brothers
to the shore.

Making the Difference

Its full of crap this world in which we live
And it stinks
People get battered and bruised
And sometimes so do I
But wait
There’s a painting, there’s a song
If I would look with eyes that see
What the artist saw
And let the music move me
Then I’ll learn that laughter is allowed
That I’m not the victim
Behold the wonder in what’s created
There’s Life there
So I choose to love and to listen
To make the difference
Not to judge whoever, whenever for whatever
To open wide my heart in welcome
To all who would come
This is home and there’s room in here
To console the toddler in tears
And the teen with her fears
Choose to be gentle, to be kind
To affirm and encourage
Love the lost and lonely
Lift the desperate and those deprived of dignity
Catch an unhurried coffee with a friend
Believe that people try their best
Be grateful for it all
Not for recognition nor reward
But for the sake of Love
And love alone

Premium Member Immortality

If I were immortal I’d wish to be
An Earth angel who sets those in chains free
I’d enter every evil person’s heart
Putting a stop to wars before they start.

If I were immortal no one would weep
I’d spread happiness whilst the broken sleep
I accept partings come in silent grief
And would affirm that grief is a relief.

I would aim to be a blessed precious lamb
Bringing joys to the brotherhood of man
Or a shepherdess with a magic crook
Keeping folk in order with just one look.

I’d see that birds were content in a tree
Chirping away happily constantly
That they’d soar o’er sky of infinite girth
Where nothing’s heard between Heaven and Earth.

I'd be a singer upon the world's stage
Singing songs heard from cradle to the grave
Songs of love they'd be and a comfort too
To all who'd find me worth listening to.

Melodies immortal the same as me
Forever in the book named history.

Premium Member Ghost Writer

Like anything
There are two edges to this sword
The ragged one has, for now, cut too deeply
The reality of its cleaving
And the intent of the hand it is wielded by
Thickens the blood that weeps from its wounds
To collect in a puddle of deep discouragement ... and frustration.

The keen, clean edge shines as always
Kept in precision by the kindness and friendship
Of those whose genuine caring and appreciation of my work
Has been the true motivation of this journey
From the first moments I placed my feet on its path
And I shall treasure it always, held close.

But my weary eyes must turn from the darkness and animosity
The nefarious creatures that move in the shadows
Wend motivations that are contrary to my beliefs and cares
My gaze seeks a bluer sky in day - a more dazzled vault in eventide
A brighter reach to glow and call and stir within
One with hope and encouragement and appreciation
And perhaps, dare I say?
The opportunities of publication and true craft.

Perhaps it is a dream, that
But dreams are what keep us young
Dreams are what push us to keep searching for the righteous path
And striving for the brighter meadows ... the truer stars.

Oh, I will yet be about - a poem here, a contest there, a comment-or-two
But only as the dancing ghost that I have become of late
That I have been told - by indirect fashion - I am
No longer a threat, competitor or antagonist
But a friendly phantom, a role I much prefer ... and affirm to
For after all, ghosts are never missed
Nor are they needed.

Blessings, Dear Poets.

Butterflies of Beauty

O butterfly

Warmth does fall of wakened skies
Sunbeams frolic ‘pon this ground
Basking deep its soothing lull
Alone of wispy windswept sound

O butterfly of colors rich
Pastel rainbows flit the wing
Blooms so full and fragrant filled
Affirm the charm this waited spring

Such the beauty ‘fore my eyes
Emerald shades abound this place
Painted scenes of dawn’s sweet kiss
Enchanted vistas to embrace

Along a path of bordered hedge
A’ winding soft yon golden view
My heartbeat sings in harmony
To spend this morn with only you

Premium Member Beyond Paranormal

Through scientific perspective, they are paranormal
With whimsical understanding, such can be magical
Some philosophers consider those as metaphysical
Unearthly, ethereal, mystical, transcendental…
But my faith in God declares miracles, supernatural.

Biblical creation exposes omnipotence of the Almighty
Forming something out of nothing, producing great beauty
While sustaining the universe as well as its majesty
To others… such is paranormal certainty
Yet my trust in the Lord accepts the facts of divine reality.

Scriptures’ revelation of divine historical blessing
Genesis’ flood and its aftermath events’ pressing
Exodus’ narration of Red Sea land-crossing…
Though paranormal in finite minds’ appraising
They affirm my confidence in the Creator I’m praising.

How about Christ’s incarnation?
Especially His resurrection and ascension??
Showing power to calm storm against malfunction???
Feeding multitudes with supplies’ production????
Beyond paranormal are they… highlighting God’s action!!!

Cognizant of miracles beyond human understanding
My spirit submits to my Master of wise leading
To HIM believing, grateful to His compassionate guarding
Surpassing the paranormal with His care, bountifully exceeding*
While reaching-out by His love constantly extending.

*1Timothy 1:14 And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.
