The ugly old tomcat was feral
Rumors abound that he’s sterile
But when the moon’s high
All the hot kitties sigh
Tease that old boy at your peril

Spring Flowers Abound

SPRING FLOWERS ABOUND

A time of year we love the best is spring, a time for new beginnings
Bringing us bright new flowers like the Buttercup to life
Cowslip are another delight along the verge as we drive
Daffodils are abound now in each new day
Every time we walk in the gardens and countryside
Forsythia being one of the many yellow flowering spring shrubs
Giving us such a lift, under planted with the Gentiana blue
Hellebore’s and Snowdrops strive to be the first to show
Iris is another, it’s very hard to know which will come first
Just thinking of all the ones we will still see again this spring
Knowing Hyacinths, Primrose and Chinodoxo with their perfumes to come
Loving the nice warm weather that is developing the others to follow
Many a blue Muscari will bloom right now planted amongst
Narcissus to make a beautiful colourful spring display
Often we cannot wait for Ornithogalum or the first Daffodil to poke its head
Pushing up amongst the large leaves of the Pulmonaria
Quite an exceptional display is had this way
Really the senses are in for many a delight to come
Scilla and the Bluebell rarely disappoint in their spring display
This is an ever growing and changing at this time of year
Usually we will see Daffs, Crocus and Violas, but there are very many more
Valerian is the unusual flower that some will have
Wisteria is one we don’t often think of appearing in the spring
Xceptional displays can appear though and take us by surprise
You will often wonder whether it was done by people or nature
Zest for life is good at this pleasant time of year is very clear

Who woulda thunk it, I'd still be around
Still got lots to offer though, pound for pound
My smarts go way back
A prehistoric Jack
Was around when the dinosaurs did abound

Premium Member Let's Abound In God's Work

Serving the Lord demands complete trust in the Saviour,
… testing total obedience
What matters most is our faith, coupled with patience and resilience.
We must seek His presence, not just stirred in our own confidence
Let’s abound in God’s work* with earnest dependence!

Ministering is both for God's glory and honour,
…while it is people-oriented
What matters most is our response as spiritually prompted.
We must be divinely-led, not foolishly blinded
Let’s abound in God’s work as to Him we’re fully yielded!

Stewardship pursuits call for fervent involvement,
…being blessing-laden
What matters most is our willingness to carry the burden.
We must be a help to the needy, not a hindrance as a leaven
Let’s abound in God’s work, leading others to go to heaven!

Being a servant of the Lord is challenging indeed,
…at the same time rewarding
What matters most is our attitude in toiling and giving.
We must thank Christ for our calling, not complaining and regretting
Let’s abound in God’s work, counting the cost while faithfully laboring!

Following the Master asks for consecration,
…along promises' fullness
What matters most is our genuine humility and meekness.
We must be submissive to His will, not upheld by self-righteousness
Let’s abound in God’s work, surrendered to His life-building business!

Staying in the work of the Lord is filled with commitments,
…and it also brings satisfaction
What matters most is our pure heart and honest intention
We must be motivated by God’s love, not by personal ambition
Let’s abound in God’s work, pleasing Him with our faith’s dedication!

Laboring in the kingdom of the Lord offers privileges bountirfully,
…yet requiring sacrifices
What matters most is how we go through the right process.
We must grow in grace, not waste chances in our servant’s experiences
Let’s abound in God’s work, eternally enriched midst temporal losses!

*1Corinthians 15:58 "Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord."

Premium Member Blessings Abound

Knock, knock, knock, do you hear the sound?
God is at your door with blessings that abound.
Open up your heart and answer His call.
Talk to Him daily, not just when you fall.

When life is hard, thank God for His blessings.
His gifts are in abundance, and also impressing.
God’s love is bigger than the resplendent Earth He created.
He is the one for whom we have always waited!

it’s not its striking unique slate of tones
as if vincent had risen from his century
long sleep
it is not nature’s rich hypnotic melodies
or the slim fingers of gusts touches our
very cores

stirs emotions in the coldest of humans or the
crackling sound under our new walking shoes

it is not the acorn berets chipmunks discard below
white oaks once they devour its scrumptious meat

not the wagon rides or the hot chocolates that
stamps its marker on children’s innocent faces

it’s not the bliss(greater than any gift) our kids
ingratiates us in displaying their unadulterated
love returned continuously and unconditionally

this adventure reminds us of our blessings
a welcomed little something beyond cities

however it’s not any one single happening
of this season which fills our hearts warm

it’s the multitude of many moments
the ones greater than any reality or
of all the fantasies found in dreams

deep within our fortresses built
it’s all the endearing memories

autumn leaves

Premium Member My School Bag and the Blue Sky

A sweet memory of our school days
We walked to school everyday
With a light school bag
Under a blue sky
With rain or sunshine abound
Only a few books in the school bag
But many flowers pluck
Or junk food bought along the way
We only had to finished our homework
Before we're free to play
We memorised lessons for our tests
Which were simple and straight forward questions
Never got tuition
We're left to learn and recite ourselves
Till we remembered
A simple style of school life
But with confidence,independence and wisdom
A nature lover
A love for freedom
A love for a simple life

Wonderment Abound

I needed help in figuring out who this heart is really for…..
Feelings arrive leaving me feeling silly at times, though much too often
it passes…..daring never to lift my spirits again for that special feeling.
Joy has never been this good to me, she was never there.
Can I dispel the magic? Step through barely harmed and peeled away the wonder….
The world may not learn who I really am, his folds and creases, the corners with the worn edges.
Can I miss the pity it never cared to give?
Maybe……I could try.
Once we realize love can take on many forms,
we could possibly accept it more openly and give it more freely.
Heavenly stimulations so terrible exist to transcribe what I’ve found quite meaningful to be discussed…..
Agony settles in where promises wane and the need for resolution
has met its last couple of sentences.
Shadows making their way across my story trample my sunset
as they clamor for the conclusion.
I hold court to entertain dubious expectations and mismanaged thoughts fraught with ideal intentions.
Singular matters are shown inadequate,
Purposeful examinations once allowed to pass….now fail,
tranquil, treachery, teeters till the twenty-fifth hour….
Is there a tomorrow? Will love bring along with it
another sunrise?

Evil Abound

Evil abound in the dark night air,
The watcher is waiting,
As you feel it’s blood thirsty stare.

Sweat starts to form
On your brow and your cheek
As fear grabs your voice
So you can not even speak.

Icy fingers of terror
Run down your neck to your back,
As you nervously anticipate
The demons vicious attack

Palm to your chest
You feel your heart race
As the blood starts to slowly
Drain from your face,
White as if paper
Ashen colored with fright
As you imagine the unbearably
Painful first bite

Fear in your heart
And tears in your eyes
As you try to be brave
And await its surprise

It steps from the shadows
And into full view
The hideous evil
That was waiting for you

With the light you now see
A form and its shape,
Wondering what’s in store
And wanting death over rape

But to your relief
Through tear filled eyes you now see,
It’s not evil or hateful
As you believed it to be

It stands in the light
Unthreatening and at ease,
Not wanting to harm
But only to please.

The wings on its back
Are now spread wide and of white,
That shine with a pleasing
Soft gleaming light

Its features so beautiful
And wondrous to see,
Your fear and the terror
Are suddenly set free
For this is not a creature
Of death, evil or hate,
But a loving blessed angel
From heavens front gate

In that moment it was clear
All your life you did waste
For fearing the unknown
And judging in haste
