Dreams of angels,
comforting and beautiful,
laying gracefully all around,
I awaken from a deep sleep.

I turn to my left to see,
her eyes shut, oh so beautifully,
her smile hidden, oh so slightly,
and her hair falling, just so perfectly.

She breathes in perfect rhythm,
making my heart follow in sync,
a smile crosses my lips,
and a feeling of ease settles over me.

I do not want to disturb her,
I do not want to wake her,
because she looks so peaceful,
and so incredibly beautiful.

I pray that she’s comfortable,
I pray that she’s warm,
I thank God for delivering an angel,
a sleeping beauty by my side.

She was picked from the rib of man
   while sleeping
Made with the deft and delectable
   touches of the Almighty Sculptor
An exquisite blend
Beheld with a skipped breath and
  exclamation mark!!!!
That is the mark a woman.

Growing and glowing into the full bloom
  as purposed at noon day.
Just like the Sunflower bow in obessiance
  to the Sun
So shall you pay respect to your maker
  The Almighty Artist
Before you enter the state of decline
As the beauty wanes and fade away.
Before life's cycle turns full circle.

A QUIET SUMMER CROWD

Birds perched on the fence…
Cats sleeping under shade trees…
Flowers looking on…

I remember the days when I'd fall
asleep before hitting the pillow.
Ah, the joy of a sound sleep.

I might not have been at my best
in the morning all things considered.
Day-old makeup very much past its prime.

My eyelashes were caked and looking scraggly,
my lipstick smeared across my cheek and pillow,
eyeshadow streaked clear across my forehead.

Thankfully one good shower made me whole again!

Premium MemberDrowsing in Dreams

Sleeping in blossoms, plush pillows!
Fleeting dreams, of pink, cloud billows.
Red, orange, purple and golden,
spread over green park, so olden.
Soft, the sighs, as hummingbird flies,
Oft' plagued by purple martin cries.
Falling through petals ~ deep, downy.
Crawling time, scented and drowsy.

"Great memories are the best kind to have but some memories bring a waterfall of tears." By Poet

Memories are sleeping in an old dusty box.
Even the ones I had forgotten about.
Many years are awakening before me.
Old love letters I now read and cry.
Roses faded from a Valentine's Day dance.
I feel each memory as I pull it out.
Examining what has been tucked away.
Seeing and feeling what once had been.

Premium MemberNight's Many Colors

Mysterious blue as midnight moonlight spills on meandering dreams. Once butterflies' ball is done merlot bliss lies past the sun! Red Mars reveries join nights of mulberry rose camouflaging green. So many are not sleeping when the yellow warblers sing.

The trees are bare, but the mountains are golden
In this early morning sunrise, someone captured on video
While some are sleeping, still caught in the night
Such perfect moments pass us by, out of sight
Frozen snow with crunching footsteps break silence
Maybe, the echo will travel the hills and wake you
Or just maybe, your dreams will rise with the sun

Written: December 16, 2023 _____________________________________ I sneak glance at veiled blue. as swank stars start to shine, Sleeping, I sensed your love. as warmth weaves through the heart, Feeling the night above I sneak glance at veiled blue. through days that caught the moon, with the whim that soon grasps those who were backing me, lasting the same long clasp I sneak glance at veiled blue. then climb the heights of sky. zest the bright stars that shine. Through the twilight impulse. glimpse that my soul is thine. I sneak glance at veiled blue. Oh, divine timeless throne. Your love has embraced us. through my path shone a blaze. freed and borne with life fuss.

I gaze out of my open window,
The cool night air, lifting my hair
I am watching the butterflies dancing in the moonlight, here, there,
 And everywhere,
Settling now on the flowers and trees,
Which are sleeping quite still, even in the midnight breeze.

Serenity flows through my veins,
As I follow the dance of joy in nature’s fanes
And fairy flight fills my heart as they paint their silent and magical art.

A swirling mass of beauty and love,
Dipping down to the grass and up to the blossom filled boughs above.
I watch this wondrous sight
Whilst the moon glows with full and mysterious light
And I am immersed in this her song, of her love of the night

Ground for ground why I never,
Needed any feedback other than
The sultry taste, the warm goodness
Saturating my cunning senses:

Within the wee hours of the morn,
Where dawn sleeps in, catering to
My desirable need for a java rush.

Poured o'er smooth creamy delights,
Instant gratification abodes, why I'm
quite smitten with this mouthful of joe.

Hints of hazelnuts caramelize dazzled,
By coconuts, wondering how the hell,
The rest of the world is simply sleeping.

Through my sudden arousal for roasted,
Award winning kaffee, aroma nestled
To perfection, calming ,comforting noir.

Doris slept the way she did everything, beautifully
her new husband stared at her sweet lips, wanting to kiss them
but she was content and innocent, lovely in her repose

Premium MemberPurple Rose

Dewy dark beauty
living for orange dawn sun
and pink butterflies
In the hour of gold sunrise
she rises from sleeping bed

Premium MemberUnbridled Musing

A few tears have smudged the script. To the chiseled thoughts that ran encrypt. The origin of the legend is unknown. Rise up, silent relics from your own To a magical decor, the syllables drift. as sleeping birds continue to sing a gift. I'm musing over pastel periwinkle tears. A tune that will never leave our ears An upbeat reworking, laced with delight. Moves the heart-rending epic by night.
