Dry your tears, quell your fears,
Their fears just cloud their eye!
They find no time to understand...
They won't even try!

You don't have to defend your heart,
To mend your heart!
Swell with Pride, open wide...
And give your heart a fresh start!

dawn blinks—
     saffron spilling
         over ridge-lines marigold
             plaiting the first veins of leaves

I sat apart from life, too weary to live,
Even the breath I owed, I refused to give.

The curse of the world is rightful on me,
I thinned the trees, not the flowers to be.

It was the last Sunday of the month,
when Providence opened its secret door,
and my longing was granted.

I walked through marble corridors
into the heart of the Vatican Library,
where time breathes softly between the pages.

I asked for only one treasure:
the Vatican Virgil,
that ancient manuscript of immortal verse.
And when it was placed in my hands,

Haters always putting me down.

she held it out to the heavens and breathed out a cry of death
her teeth harder
