some people are afraid of skulls, clowns or other stuff
But Maddie is terrified of ballerinas with their tutu puff
They scare me to my veins, they make my bones shake
She saw a ballerina wall, and her teeth began to quake
What happened? She was asked? When did this fright begin?
She could not explain it, not to her friends, therapist or kin.
All of her life those pink ballerinas with laced shoes and wings
Frightened her almost to death, to her they were horrifying things
fall leaves whirling free
colorful ballerinas
yellow, orange, brown
spinning and twirling en pointe
Mother Nature in toe shoes

leaping, gliding, performing
motions,marvels,memories,majesty
thrilling, entrancing, being
true, living
magic
~Precious Pink Ballerinas~
Hair swirled upin pink ribbons, done to perfection.
So innocent, sweet, these two, a toule confection.
Two ballet butterflies,with pink lipstick gleaming,
Of futures in the balllet, their young hearts,dreaming.
Dad’s car, here it comes, for these pink,blessed maids in waiting.
For this writer, in memory, was her sumptous future, contemplating!

Invasion of the Bums & Scarecrow-Soldiers & Pretty Ballerina’s

What are you gonna be
I donno
Maybe a soldier or a bum again or a Martian
My sister wants to be a ballerina
But its way too cold for that
The most memorable year was when my mom turned me into
the tallest paper mâché octopus
Every seen
in a 3rd grade class.
The Halloween parade would begin at 10 on the school stage that hosted
the most ghosts & goblins
bums and ballerinas
and store-bought Cops & Cinderella’s
soldiers and white-as-a-sheet spooks with big cutout eyes
& bums with bones
black magically coming out of nowhere
After dinner & Its the Great Pumpkin Charley Brown
We are out terrorizing the town
Winter coats covering our prized costumes
Timidly
Begging for candy
Until our big brown bags could hold no more
Sorting
Chocolate with chocolate
Suckers with suckers
Candy bars of all kinds
Candy lips & candied apples
Candy cigarettes & Popcorn balls
The next morning
Moan/Groaning
But still
can’t wait for school to start &
The retelling of the last nights Halloween Haul &
Haunted adventure
Two tiny, laughing dancers
twirl about on tippy toes
to silly songs they’ve made up,
till they land on ruffled derrieres.

Dancing goodness filled each corner of her heart
She was a ballerina today and it was marvelous for sure!
She twirled and pirouetted and loved every movement
Enjoying her glittery lace up slippers as much as any girl could
I am a dancer! She squealed to her daddy who had come to watch
He saw her mother in her, and he smiled, loving her even more
Which until this second he had not thought possible
I cannot help but to envy ballerinas,
Those boisterous bun-heads in bloom,
For they are rubber
And I am wood.

The ballerinas danced _swirls twirling
Brown sugar semi-sweet
A taste of heaven upon the tongue
Chocolate chips tasty treat
Dance, dance 'pon the kitchen floor
Avoid splatters on the wall
Watch those beaters swirl that thick dough
Don't let those eggs shells fall
Ballerinas dance
Gracefully like wildflowers
Swaying in the wind
Fragrant new petals pirouette
On stairways of blazed winds, rosette
Meadows become a stage…
As small ballerinas saunter
Enchanting moonlight to linger,
Ruffling on ferns arranged...
