Premium MemberA Slave To Words

On Montserrat, in the night glow
She holds her breath in warm anticipation
She waits and longs for loving inspiration
For only then could haiku flow.

Condemned to ride emotion’s wave
To words she is a willing slave!

A cocktail of pristine Truth and Time
Would surely make the success sublime
Purity of Purpose must be prime
A cocktail of pristine Truth and Time
I'd share what Today I Accomplished
Two of Us together would be pleased
A cocktail of pristine Truth and Time
Would surely make the success sublime

Jingling bells on the camel drawn cart
A Memorable Ride for the day to start.

The good old days when cars so few
The multi attired costume looked all anew.

Rajasthan tunes for me to savour
Completing The Lines in all its flavour.

Not to forget their Tribute To Hyades
To fill the oasis in their scorched dire needs.

Folk lore of rustics Enslaved To Time
Mother Of The Age they still hold pristine.

The love of two people that chose to grow as it sows

With so much love in my heart like an hourglass full of sand that flows

Our children are here one minute and gone the next as we did long ago

Oh.., it’s so hard, letting go

Mom, I love you more than a box of chocolates or a dozen red roses can show

It is on those Rainy Days of my life
when I feel that there is so little light,
that my ups and downs, like kids' See-Saws,
make me want to stop and give up the fight.

Enough of Me – my thoughts seem to say;
with spirits so low, no hope in my heart.
All the wishes I make are for peace and joy;
yet hidden is my path of where to start.

Dionysus, Apollo Balance Me,
bring order to chaos, hold tight your reign!
Those ancient Greek gods from mythology,
say both are needed, the crazy, the sane.

Divine Intervention – I beseech your help!
God give me the answers, please hear my prayers,
to balance my life despite ups and the downs,
and lighten my burden of worries and cares.

This relationship is a 'losing proposition',you know it to be true
While I finally have the courage,' I'm breaking up with you'
The 'rearview mirror' is not the way we want to live our life
Sorry but I have to say I can't make you my wife
We will not suffer for years, because of 'one days magic'
That would be reprehensible, and very tragic
Let's be truthful with each other and stop playing these head games
You know our hearts have been burned, by the heat of 'different flames'

Premium MemberRaining Into Dark

Raining into dark

In realm of darkness
with all hopes lost,
Walking to the unknown
I dared not stop,

When no one chose
that path of loneliness,
Wishful beyond real
I went directionless,

Then tiny raindrops
subtle and serene,
Came to my rescue
to wash away my grief,

Echos of little joys
set my heart to resonate,
Tugged at the strings
harder to elucidate,

Insinuated life
into my dejected being,
To nurture the soul
and brush it deep !!

Premium MemberQuietly In the Night

My racing heart through silence seeps
a pitter-pattered tempo keeps
while all the world about me sleeps
so quietly in the night.

I sense a ghastly ghoul creep
a lurid wretch my conscious sweep
I fight it, but I softly weep
so quietly in the night.

Above the seas, beyond the moon
confined in heavens black cocoon
who plays that haunting deathly tune
so quietly in the night?

What will my captor now decree?
Shall I know life, shall I go free…
or shall the devil come for me
so quietly in the night?

Befitting rain to match my tears
reflecting all these gripping fears
as light forever disappears
so quietly in the night.

Writing In the Rain

Sitting on a branch of a white sapote tree
Shivering, crying and alone
Away from home, on the highest branch that can hold me

Hiding......no more beatings mommy
Scared, it's pitch black and sounds of insects rule the night
Hiding......I've become the teen that runs away
With any chance, searching for that ray
Scared, I don't want to die, I want to see more days

I want to be heard, can anyone hear me
The rain falls hard, hitting hard my bare back
with every drop, my scars become more scarce
The rain I love, it cleanses my tears
The rain is my friend, atleast am not so alone
The drench and the cold night are better than the place i call home

Sounds of the rain soothe my lonely heart
Sounds in the dark protect me from the pain
Sounds of my cries assure me that am okay
The songs I write in the rain, are my tickets to be away

In love with words- I'lyezette

Have always loved words,
that take over my emotions,
The muse flies swift as birds,
as pen sets ink in motion,

Deeper in thoughts I drown,
when no words come to my rescue,
Failure then paints frown,
awaits a reecho to pursue,

Masterfully crafted and chiseled,
gleeful words rock in phloem,
On soup's first page I sizzled,
as an eloquently structured poem !

Poem written last year-
For the love of words

Deep in love with words,
I keep digging through the day,
Although words fail me,
Still can't help reverberate,
I am a structured poem !

Premium MemberRhyme Time - For Contest

This morning I went shopping
Tripped over, started hopping
My milk bottle it went slopping
The store cleaner began mopping

I hobbled out of the store
Got caught in the sliding door
Lost my wallet and now I’m poor
I really can’t take anymore

Then I fell on to my knees
Dropped my bag and my car keys
Gave out a massive sneeze
And then began to wheeze

I found my red sports car
The door it was ajar
They’d stolen my Snickers bar
It really was quite bizarre

I jumped behind the wheel
I began to shout and squeal
Why my Snickers did they steal -
It really was quite surreal

My shopping trip was tough
I was feeling pretty rough
I drove off in a huff –
I’d really had enough

Had an ache in my poor old head
Drove home and went to bed
Shopping trip left me half dead …
Will opt for home delivery instead!

I thought I’d pen a rhyme
With words that are sublime
I hope this one is fine
And in the list will shine

Premium MemberThe Tempest

The sea was a tempest of strong gale winds,
   Waves beat upon the shore crashing the rocks;
And it was hours before the storm had thinned,
That the battered up boat drifted into the dock.
Falling to pieces, beat up, coming apart,
The sad loss of life broke my heart.

Before Darkness Saw Light

In the year before darkness saw light,
When the safety of men knew no shroud.
At the time when the shadows of night,
In the Heavens had not been allowed.

When the spirits of men did not mourn,
Nor the moonshine through ominous clouds,
Nor the souls loving earth had been born.
Nor the blessings of God had been vowed.

When the creatures of life were not made.
Nor the hope of forever engraved.
Nor the Plan of Salvation was stayed
For which choice and rebellion are laid.

When the children of God came not hence.
And their spirits were with Him above,
Nor had wars up in Heaven commenced.
But all gathered around his great love.

When the past and the future were one.
And the dry parts of mass had not spun.
And the time as we know it was not.
The beginning had not yet begun.

Premium MemberQueen Sea and Her Three Paramours

So enchanted was Sun by Queen Sea
as he sat near some clouds high above
he began sliding down stealthily
till he touched the dark face of his love.

Then Sir Sky, so aroused by Sea’s hue,
began melting along with Sun’s rays,
and by now, Sun was dipping into
the blue depths of Queen Sea. In a daze,
Sky gazed down, and with ruddishness blushed!

Then a third lover looked on the face
of Queen Sea. Feeling thrilled, Night then brushed
rosy heavens with deep purple lace.
Night embraced lovely Sea! Sun was gone.
And again, Sky with envy looked on.

Premium MemberRich Harvest

Wheat crop stands tall in spring's bloom,
Ripples seen with wind through the gold,
Proud farmer anticipates the best harvest,
His blood and sweat are made to nourish,

Feeding the whole world himself no meal,
Blanket of sole hope covers the lost zeal,
Such poor plight how can forever conceal ?

If a producer will ignore his appetite,
Who will write future in black and white !
