Pledge allegiance to a new flag,
of these United States being run by
the MAG..
Once a nation under God,
now being led by a demagogue..
Pledge allegiance to the man,
with his ever growing Trump brand.
As autocracy reigns from sea to sea,
let the rich and the powerful
rewrite our history.

We stand strong under God's command
To lift up the weary across this land 
To stand unified with a heart of love
To keep faith in our lord above
To praise his name as we stand as one
To conquere each battle without knife or gun

Greed corrupts while people hunger in streets

Now, why a meeting of adults
Should open with the pledge
Is something that feels wrong to me
And sets my teeth on edge.

As children, we recited it
Assembly days in school
And when I taught, each morning
In the classroom was the rule.

Just like the anthem, kids should learn
The words that we recite
On those occasions when it is
Appropriate and right.

I pledge allegiance to a dream
embodied in the fabric of a flag.
A flag imbued with hope
tarnished by fear
bloodied of necessity.
This flag, this weary tattered symbol
of what we strive to be.
Countless men and women
have bled, grieved, died
not to glorify a symbol
but to defend an idea, an ideal
keep our fragile hopes alive
make our dreaming possible.

To my job
And to the 40 hour work week
And to the taxes

With a bad back
And most my good years gone

Led by deliberate ignorance chomping on gold

Lining up for your turn based on your make believe sin

Punishments justified and blamed on your skin

Safe at their table where everything is pale

One hand grasps a gavel, the other the holy grail

Your existence an annoyance, a flea or a gnat

Demanding you retreat

We pledge allegiance to a flag; literally singing along in unison to a material thing. Most don't understand the implications of this. Flags are only tags for designer things, yet those things so happen to be US; Human Beings.

We must be bonkers to work in concert with these con men. Obediently, we subliminally keep secrets

Pardon Mine Allegiance To Infidelity

Unfaithful marital transgressions
self admitted indictment,
crime and punishment,
no longer think high lee
entailing no mister re: demeanors,
I searingly weathered

(George by bushed, albeit thankfully,
no unwanted child left behind),
nonetheless one unforgettable
indelible, execrable, and abominable
professedly owned his
civil warring battle of life

transgressions undeservedly heaped

My Pledge of Allegiance

I pledge allegiance to the earth,
and every single inhabitant that occupies it,
and in harmony with nature intelligently manage its resources,
the common rightful global heritage of all of us.

We must all declare the earth and all of its resources,
all of the earth's inhabitant's rightful heritage.
