Eclipse of Sun is quite a sight
since for a while day looks like night
when moon moves ‘twixt the Earth and Sun
and over light the dark has won
or seemingly in visioned sleight.
That syzygy alignment might
in past have given grievous fright.
Yet now we know ere has begun
eclipse of Sun.
These days this marvel can ignite
excitement of supernal height
with mise en scènes our senses stun
in pageants not to be outdone,
while world continues on despite
eclipse of Sun.

Eventually they all fail,
especially the ones made of blood
and ambition.
Then there is this:
there are trains pulling ghosts,
the drowned and crushed
reflected in a puddle of sky.
Despite the sustaining support,
the perseverance,
eventually they all fly too far,
span downward, stretch beyond
rivets, nuts, and bolts.
Then there is this:
bridges rise above the engineered,
the aeronautics of sky and earth
plant new ideas.
Imagination finds
other ways to cross over the gaps,
most have left,
on the other side of distance.

Imagination finds
other ways to cross over the gaps
others have bravely left.
Eventually they all fail,

Despite the sustaining support,

eventually they all fly too far,
span downward, stretch beyond
the expectancy of nuts and bolts.
Then there is this:
there are bodies and other vehicles.
There are trains pulling ghosts,
the drowned and crushed
reflected in a puddle of sky.
Eventually the infrastructure
of destruction
leaps further than the steel,
it springs ahead of the flesh.
The overpassing and over arching
find their roots elsewhere.
Then there is this:
bridges rise above the engineered;
the aeronautics of earth planted ideas.
Hope finds
other ways to cross over the gaps
others have left.
THERE'S NOWT ON OUR HERM
There's a naked heathen godlet
that lodges in our hall;
one leg of his is cocked up in the air.
Does that finger pointing upwards,
on which we hang the keys,
import some noble thought, some lofty theme?
If not, one asks, how should it be construed?
Maybe it's just another case
when all that can be said is.
'If it weren't for art,
you'd call the thing damn rude.'
Then he wears a warden's helmet,
except that it's got wings
and wings he's got a-flapping at the heel.
Considering aeronautics,
I doubt he'd pass the test,
but there's a thought that never bothers Herm.
He bears a funny wand
round which snakes entwine their coils
in a way that real snakes never seem to do.
Don't ask me why they're there,
or why he walks on air.
He's a god, yes, he's a god,
and there's an end.
Where are all our most beautiful swallows?
powder blue skies seem so empty so bare
why does this make my heart feel so hollow?
icons of summer, why do I despair?
longing for a glimpse of this great blue bird
splendour at sight of their aerobatics
gracefully gliding too and fro quite blurred
natural art of pure aeronautics
gazing into glorious blue yonder
doubting myself if it’s spring or summer
please beautiful bird be my responder
your presence will make me much less glummer
like a mirage dozens come into view
now summer is here our swallows are too.
There's a naked heathen godlet
that lodges in our hall;
one leg of his is cocked up in the air.
Does that finger pointing upwards,
on which we hang the keys,
import some noble thought, some lofty theme?

Triple digits
Not just talking about riches
Better mind your own business
And keep your distance
Before you start sleeping with the fishes
Never should it ever be forgotten
There is only so much time allotted
Regarding anything cosmic
Whether or not it
Involved aeronautics
Better get on this
To be honest
If it was what you truly wanted
Near and far from what is labeled as haunted
I never once thought I had it all in my pocket
I'm just coming in faster than a rocket
And comet
Across any quadrant
Trying to earn respect and profit
By using more than skill and logic
I just can't be stuck
Never really had much
Whether or not it had anything to do with bad luck
I'll man up
Regardless of it it's easy or that's tough
I'll move far past stuff
And earn every last buck
NERVE
Nearer moonlight than us
Nerves of steel skyrocket
Nationwide heroes rise

WORD OF THE DAY: ETHICS
Science and Engineering have benefitted immensely from PHYSICS
Another major concept that has hastened aeronautics is KINETICS
But science is itself a noble profession with its values and ETHICS
Scientists are neither known for oratory prowess nor PHONETICS
Yet they have produced drugs that are as effective as ANESTHETICS
All these and many more were attained with or without AESTHETICS
