Hello to you and your sweet eyes,
Ah, this—a piece from heart I made.
Now listen well, be truth or lies;
No twist of words, I'm quite afraid.

After a week since meeting you,
How swiftly did these feelings fell.
Before them all, at once I knew:
I've been bewitched under your spell.

Amidst the days that shone so pure,
Not ever did I feel despair.
Curiosity and faith made sure
Always to pour each talk with care.

For once I thought you could be it,
An honest keeper of my sight.
Resolved my doubts, all loose ends knit;
Even my soul found pure delight.

Woe is me! What catastrophe
Emerged while I stayed unaware!
Lies, false whispers, and treachery
Left me hollow in your cold stare.

"Love can both enlighten and kill."
Oh, how I bore this crushing fear!
Vivid memories haunt me still—
Each moment that has brought me here.

Destiny played its cruel hand,
Renounced the trust I held so high.
And now, afraid here where I stand,
Name, thank you still, and last: goodbye.

Premium MemberFarewell to Summer - 2024

Falling Autumn leaves brashly wave goodbye to Summer
And strew the pathways with emeralds, rubies, and gold.
Radiant beauty engages the land in mummer
Encouraging Summer to relent and let loose its hold.
Watching with glum expression and immodest dress,
Eventually losing the tug-of-war with the chill cold.
Life and death become the drum to which She will bend
Leaving the breathless Wind time to nimbly mend.

Tomorrow She moves forward
Onward from time borrowed.

Sulking away with dried diamonds
Until Autumn’s auric sky explodes
Mindfully exposing Her horizons.
Memory of Summer implodes.
Efficacious efforts of Her victory,
Reign of Autumn’s golden glory.

FAREWELL

F first, we all thought it was something we could easily deal with.

A after that kiss, it became evident that our end was now.

R reason clashed with our emotions,

E envy, regret, and disappointment gripped us.

W we surrendered to what we never imagined,

E especially the courage we had groomed for the goodbye.

L little did we know that, like the last bites of tacos,

L last kisses always linger on.

Premium MemberFarewell To Summer - 2023

Fading blossoms drooping low in abeyance
Arouse Summer’s suspicions that now Autumn
Races forward, seeking Summer’s abdication.
Even as the birds plan their migration south,
Willful Summer scoffs as she stifles the wind,
Eventually losing to the tug of chill air.
Looking at scorched ground, Summer abandons
Last requests to the barren clouds for quenching rains.

Trudging toward tomorrow, Summer remembers she was
Once a grand empress, and vows she shall be again!

She sheds her ragged regal robes and crown;
Uneasy in weight of peasant’s coarse tunic.
Maybe next year when the Sun again comes ‘round,
Maybe next year when Summer defends, just then,
Essence of life will calm and steady her realm.
Restoring hope for her next auspicious reign.

Awfully splendorous fallen-leaf paintings on landscapes!
Ultra momentary changing of sky colors and shapes!
Trees, true forerunners, paving paths for the winter princess!
Umbrellas bidding farewell to the summer-rain messes!
Munificently mesmerizing multicolored Morns!
Nebulous fogs knitting knotty nets in nocturnal noons!

Breathe easier and healthier because Autumn has arrived.

Rest O ye weary soul; relax and take a walk through golden lanes.

Easy does it, stretch at high noon; exhale and chill with the sunset.

Autumn leaves are preparing to leave, but not before their golden display.

Take it in, tell a friend, and an enemy too if you have one; all eyes open!

Heaven has no comparison, no rivals, but Autumn is running second.

Tune out the Summer; she's gone and won't be back for several months.

Air conditioners, gifts from God, life-savers, but Autumn bids them farewell.

Kites aren't just for kids; they are feeling the wind as well as anybody.

In my opinion, at least where I abode, it doesn't get better than Autumn.

Nights are coming sooner; the light is compassionate toward the darkness.

God sets the seasons, and when I see trees in Fall, I simply say, "Behold my Father, The Painter".

Colorful Fall

Carnelian and crimsons orchestrate eye music
Ornate as orange oboes that blare a fiery woo
Loud in the hills, flaring flutes of maroon thrill,
Oscillating in burgundy trills of a breezy banjo
Red rises in volumes that the silent trees hear,
For they farewell warmth, in sun-setting relief,
Undulating in vermillion wavelengths an adieu,
Lingering long in mellowing yellows, autumnal

Free leaves wind-whorl a gold saxophone-puff
As apples blush in whistles of a taupe wisteria
Looping branches bare-brown in tuned annual
Love-fest festooned in earthen melody eternal

Premium MemberComing Back Home

Clouds of deep velvet drape the sea’s horizon
Overcast, like my spirits without you
Memories of our last farewell repeat
It’s your gentle voice I missed most at first
But now I ache for your touch and can hardly breathe
”Give me an answer when I return,” I said
But your engaging smile told me, “Yes”
And I can still see you standing on the dock
Clasping the promise ring I gave to you as we said adieu
Keep safe, my love, till I return
Here in my heart, I cling to hope you still want me
Only me in your life
Make my dreams come true when this ship docks tomorrow
Evermore is my foolish wanderlust quelled

Nostalgia

Nights have passed by since my Farewell at school.
Opening my presents I screamed like some fool.
Singing loud tunes eyes shut in the shower,
Talking with toys while watching 'Fawlty Towers',
Alone at peace in school walking round the tree,
Licking a 10 cents popsicle sugar free,
Going swimming and crushing on my teachers.
I’ve never thought I’ve had a lot going on
At least….. till the day I’ve done nothing but yawn.

Premium MemberIs He There With Me

I see him sometime come through the kitchen door,
Sometimes standing looking over garden ledge,

He wakes me some nights by appearing in dreams,
Ever so often jolts me by his absence!

Tense silence surrounds me without his laughter,
How very much shall miss him from here after,
Every thing in this house reminds me of him,
Right from music to his chair in the corner!
Even garden birds stop, scan for his presence,

Waiting for a handful of seeds he would throw,
Is it possible his soul lurks around me?
Tenderly follows in everything I do?
His mischievous self is capable of that?

My mind still searches but my lonely heart knows,
Eternal love and peace where ever he goes!

Purpose of love, to hold and to cherish
Love is the only emotion that lasts
Even onto death
A heart never leaves you, it only changes places
Softly the soul engraves the memory , into
Eternity it goes;

Don't go...
