Walking in the front door with my sisters in tow, the phone on the sideboard in the dining room started ringing incessantly. Upon answering the phone, a very determent voice accosted my ear with, ‘You are the lucky winner in our draw to receive a Life Coat makeover for your house—‘
‘This is not my house …’
‘Well, may I speak to Mr “X”?’
‘No, sorry. My father passed away an hour ago. We have just returned from the hospital—‘
The register in his voice went up an octave: ‘Well, put your mother on the phone, then.’
‘She passed away last week—‘
‘Of all the [expletive] excuses I have ever heard …’ And with that he slammed down the phone.

I’m being accosted by five lines in search of a poet.
They’re gonna request I turn them into a limerick, I just know it.
But I fear that their end rhymes are totally wrong,
and that three of the lines are just too wordy and long.
“Sorry, guys! You need to find yourselves a better poet,
cuz if I try ~ I just know I’m gonna blow it.”

Cocoa tacos and cacao pizza,
fudge fries for sweet crème dipping;
I missed one! Forgive my amnesia;
A jello slide right into gumballs,
just be careful how you ride down;
Children are accosted by its falls;
The root beer float can refill itself,
so stay mindful of your limit;
Cannot be wise to inflate yourself;
Rosy field of strawberry shortcake,
You can eat it but at your own risk;
Berries bite it’s not an easy bake;
Chicken and waffles at every hour
dressed all over in sugared maple;
They won’t sweeten someone sour;
Look up at neon marshmallow moons,
grab ‘em for drinks that glow in the dark;
Stir them with candied edible spoons;
Vanilla mountain with a peach flume,
things missed in Wonka’s chocolate room.

It happened around 10:05am and then
Somebody was parked in my driveway
I accosted the man
He opened the driver's window
Before I could speak he pinched my cheek.
"Cheers." He drove away
But I'm taking all the clocks off the classroom walls
No one should know what time it is
As the organist and Director of Music at the local
Village church is leaving for Scotland
I have applied and enclosed with my CV a copy of
Backstage Passes & Backstabbing Bastards: Memoirs of a Rock 'N' Roll Survivor
The new Director of Music will be announced very soon.

Present, wrapped on sight
Leaning bows look forward, close (clothed)
Familiar, sents
It's breeze of wheeze, squeeze
utter grip center, maw, drip
Of thank you, please, sip
Steaming love in mug
Accosted moment to 'steem
Taste of tanks full ness

Carrie thought the forest had an ominous feel.
The shadows frightened her; she expected to be accosted.
Her cousin Sheila was humming a tune, skipping, chatting.
Don’t you feel the fear here? Carrrie asked.
Sheila stopped to listen, tried to sense something.
A being, a spirit, a fragrance, a noise.
She heard nothing, smelled nothing.
All I feel is joy, she told Carrie.
This is my happy place.

For six years I lived the big city LIFE
If you asked, I would give you ADVICE
Asphalt jungle covers the TURF
Mile after mile of heartache and HURT
Violent crimes are hard to AVERT
Many good people have often FLED
The bad was left and caused DREAD
And the ugly raised their angry HEAD
After a long day at school and WORK,
I should have been much more ALERT
In the dark of night, I headed HOME;
In the dark of night, I walked ALONE
Halfway down the block, I was accosted and ROBBED
Still, life rushes forward with no time to SOB
Some parts of her are overwhelmingly beautiful to BEHOLD
But so many great deeds and inspiring stories go UNTOLD
City life, some bitter things to HATE
City life, some parts to ESCAPE
City life, some areas to VACATE
City life, lots of sweet things to LOVE
City life; there's so much more that is
as harmless as a DOVE

A girl who drank too much liquor
Was accosted by Les Dicker
She sighed, "I'm so glad
That you'll be its dad
As Sam was quite a bit quicker!"

In My Bible had not feared An Angel;
If he got the chance would put one in jail
Hadn’t they been A Group he once headed
And why would he judge his powers faded?
One could again charge at whom one had ruled
And not at all think one had oneself fooled…
Any surprise he’d accosted Michael
In Jude ready with him to go to Hell;
Over Dead Moses stating ownership
A catch-up speed with Michael’s Airship
From Armed Michael, still “The Lord rebukes thee”
No entry into sword fights; “Just flee!”
“Or else Lord God you dread and dodge you’ll meet
And he shan’t fail to you make a mincemeat!”
The same we see in Zechariah,
Satan, A Volunteering Crier
Against Joshua, High Priest of Obvious Sin
Ignoring present Angels Fat and Thin
Himself positioning for Attack
On Joshua with Spiritual Lack
And then God’s “I rebuke thee” from heaven
And Satan’s legs became wings of raven.

The wheel of time churns the disowned dust,
settling on the desolate shore of deranged life,
in the tidal moments of dispersed perturbation
truth oscillates beyond clutch in chasm of chaos.
Within the destined flux of dismantling disorder
everything succumbs to change except change,
where the alchemy of accosted metamorphosis
creates the fantasy façade of transformation.
In the devastating squall of divesting depression
my mind lies disheveled in the dishabille state,
strips off the fragile layers of frail emotions,
carried away by confounded cascade of essence.
Yet, when my sand castle in the yearning shore
tumbles down in a clutter of scattered debris,
I discover the hidden flute of feelings, and play
the ecstasy tune with the melody of your memory.

Four girls go prancing down the street
Off to school to get a cartoon education
Lets hope they’re not accosted on the way
Skirts are kind of short for the occasion
Eyes squinting not from the morning sun
It is an Asian oriental thing from birth
Which makes them sort of flirty
Anime perfection Japanese
After school the pretty girls play literature
Making tea and eating cupcakes full of giggles
Their poetry is read and knives come out
Are most effective for making people dead
One girl wears a silken scarf around her neck
Tied in a knot for swinging from the rafter afternoon
Unicorns and rainbows keep them happy laughing
Monika is the president of our literary club
We love her so elected and adored forever
I love you Monika! What else can I say?
If another word is spoken I’ll be gone
Doomed or dead or even worse...Ehehe!
Deleted from the game for something said
Doki Doki is no joke

I never had to go to bed
Hearing gunfire in the night,
Nor had to close my blinds
Against a scary fight.
Although we were not rich
I had enough to eat,
Had decent clothes to wear,
And shoes that fit my feet.
No friend of mine was shot
By someone driving by
Or accosted by a dealer
Who tried to get him high.
No junkies stood on corners
To meet and make a deal.
No sirens and policemen -
No racing tires would squeal.
Our yard was mostly grass,
Not made of dirt and weeds,
Around us not just buildings
But yards with grass and trees.
Those with luck like mine
Should never bear a grudge
When others are acting out -
We’re not qualified to judge.

The buzzes I hear coming from next door
Cause this old man's blood pressure to soar
After they waited seventeen long years
Time for the summer cicadas is here
Shrill chirping voices do not bring me cheer
Loud scissoring buzzing makes me crazy
Searching for love, they sure are not lazy
By midday I am completely exhausted
My brain is befuddled, think it's all hazy,
Next time, I won't be here to be accosted.
